Chapter 36 Little stars
.
” Move aside!” He pushed me roughly even after seeing my face. Who is this disrespectful individual who doesn’t know who the queen is?
“Hey, who do you think you are? And how dare you touch me with your filthy hands?” I yelled at him wrapping my cloak tighter. He stared in his tracks and turned around. He walked toward me with a bored expression on his face. He looked so familiar. He was dressed in a dark blue attire and his Long hair was tied with a white silk now to the back of his head. He looked like a noble, a foolish one. It’s only a foolish nobleman that will dare mess with the Queen.
” Great! Another powdered-up doll of a noble family trying to get my attention? How did the likes of you always know when I’m back in town?” He said staring at me like I’m some flower girl looking for his attention.
” Who do you think you are?” I exclaimed frustrated at his audacious attitude.
” If you don’t know who I am, you won’t be looking for my attention,” He said and I gasped. He gets worse and worse. Treven will have his head if he learns about this.
” Were you born a dimwit? Or did you become one after puberty?” I muttered watching his expression morphed into a scowl.
” You can’t address me like that! Do you know who I am?”
” Okay, I will ask again. Were you born an idiot or did you grow up to become one, my Lord?” I said adding extra hints of sassy to my tone. He looked mortified at my words like he had never heard it from anyone before. Why does this remind me of that night at the inn so much?
” You just dig your grave. I’ll have my cousin arrest you for that insolent attitude” he pointed his fingers at me.
” Yeah go ahead, I’m sure my husband won’t let you live either. Let’s see who wins” I said swatting his fingers away from my sight. I moved away from him and headed toward the pastry shop, I was tired of my little adventure thanks to a foul individual.
” No, you won’t leave until you tell me who you are!” He grabbed my hands all of a sudden and I let out a tired groan.
” What do you think I am? An idiot like you? Why will tell you who I am? And stop harassing a married woman damn it!” I pushed his hands away, thank God he was using much strength to hold me.
” Apologize right now!” he yelled at me grabbing my wrist again, Sweet Natalí! Treven is going to going to cut his limb off.
” Your majesty?” Annalise’s voice sounded behind me and I breathed a sigh of relief, at least she was here to save me from this madman, not that I needed it anyway.
” Lord Talin?” Annalise raised her eyebrows as she addressed the stranger behind me. Did she know him? Maybe he was important after all.
” wait Did you just say your majesty? Is she the Queen?” The idiot also known as Lord Talin according to Annalise gasped as he let go of my hands slowly. I wonder where in the devil’s lair he came from.
” Yes of course, Oh I forgot you were not around when His Majesty found his true Queen. Meet Natalí’s chosen, Her Majesty, Queen Lyn of Nayak” Annalise introduced me to him politely while I narrowed my eyes at him. He scratched his head nervously as he took a few steps back.
” Damnit! I’m out of here” He said before storming out of our sight. Rude! He didn’t even acknowledge my presence after learning that I was the Queen.
” Who is that brat?” I asked Annalise immediately he was out of sight.
” Princess Cixi’s son, Lord Talin also the cousin of the king” Annalise explained and I nodded my head in understanding, no wonder he looked familiar and was as pompous as anything. He reminds me of the first time I met Treven, he was also an obnoxious asshole like that.
” Did he do anything? I know how he can be”
” He did and he didn’t,” I said with a wide grin. Annalise looked at me in confusion. ” I am afraid, I don’t understand what you mean”
” I will say he didn’t, if I mention what he did, I’m sure he will lose a few limbs soon. So let’s keep this encounter a secret” I said as she nodded her head trailing after me closely as we walked down the market. I collected the pastry bag from her I removed a snow roll and brought it to my lips. I moaned in delight as the chocolate melted in my mouth. I think I’m going to have this couple supply me with these goodies every time.
I couldn’t get past two bites before one of my maids ran towards us.
” Your majesty, I have been looking all over the market for you” The girl breathed heavily stopping Annalise and me in our tracks. Annalise gave her a Stern gaze and the young girl quickly composed herself.
” There is an emergency at the temple,” The young girl said but before she could continue, I already quickened my pace as I headed towards the temple. ” What happened?” my tone strained as I continued with the rush to the temple. To avoid unnecessary attention, I placed my cloak over my head.
” A young man fell at the construction site, His entire body is soaked in his blood. He kept getting worse at the physician’s place and they sent him to the temple because only a miracle could save him. He will die if we don’t hurry” The girl was out of breath by the time she finished her explanation, not that I was waiting for her anyway. God, it’s all that idiot’s fault, I would have been back at the temple since.
Pushing the gates of the temple open, I had no time to look at the big stone before I stormed to the healing room. Inside the room was a man covered in blood almost dead, it looked like he had broken every bone in his body. It was a miracle he wasn’t dead yet. Ripping off my gloves, I tapped the bangle on my wrist and the tears responded to me instantly. My nerves were everywhere, I hated the sight of blood more than anything but I had to put my phobia aside so I won’t lose a life for the first time.
The tears traveled from my palms to his body, he groaned out as I watched the light travel throughout his body. It wasn’t enough but he was healing, I snatched another bangle and it responded, as if sensing my troubled nerves. I was almost crying at the moment because the sight of his bloodied body was doing much to my insides and I had to ignore it to focus on healing him.
The second bangle wasn’t enough too, but his body was healing up at least. Erxi opened the door carrying the earthenware containing the fresh tears from the fountain. I wiped the sweat on my forehead as I scooped up a reasonable amount from the pot and placed it on the injured man’s body. His internal organs are healed up but it’s just his bones that need the healing. My whole hands were covered in his blood and it took every part of me not to throw up. As the last part of tears left my hands I relaxed a little bit, the man opened his eyes. He was no longer a groaning mess. His eyes shone bright green as he faced me directly.
“Today, I make an oath to you and Goddess Natalí that I will serve you till the day I take my last breath” He muttered before surrendering himself to a deep sleep. I let out a breath I didn’t realize I was holding. I nodded at his oath, knowing I will eventually forget it.
Erxi and some maids tried to help me up but my legs and consciousness gave out before they could touch me. A sudden wave of dizziness kicked in and I felt the room tilt in another direction and there was darkness.
