King Zed sat at the dining area facing his cousin, who had his arms folded and stared back at him with a grin.
King Zed wasn’t happy with Duncan’s presence but, the King’s cousin couldn’t care less. Serena, after some thought, left King Zed to prepare something for his cousin. He was the only relative Serena had met, so she felt treating him right would give her a good name.
After setting things on fire, she returned to the dining to find the two relatives staring at each other one grinning and the other frowning.
She smiled and sat down beside her mate, she placed her hand on his, and it was only then that he moved his eyes towards her direction.
“I’m glad to see that you are not under my cousin’s control. Everyone had stayed far away from him because of his attitude. Even my other siblings left instantly after the wedding, as they didn’t want to face him.” Duncan said, making King Zed hiss.
Serena smiled and shifted her gaze to Duncan. “And I guess you are the only one with the balls to come to his castle.” She said with a soft tone.
“Yeah, I’m the only brave one, I guess. But don’t get me wrong, I’m not here for him but you. I wanted to meet the lady whom the moon goddess gave to that tough Alpha.” Duncan chuckled as he spoke.
Serena smiled once more before inquiring, “And where exactly do you base at?”
“Canada. I run a business there.” He supplied.
Serena shook her head and asked, “how many siblings do you say you have again?”
“Just two, all guys. Younger than me.” Duncan answered.
“Hmm, I would like to meet them also-” Serena’s words got cut off by a loud snarl.
“They are not coming here. I won’t allow them.”King Zed groaned, stunning Serena.
“Why? Why don’t you want me to meet your relatives?” Serena turned to face King Zed.
“They are not worth meeting. I want them far away from me.” King Zed stated.
Serena turned slowly to see Duncan laughing. Serena wanted to question her mate further but reserved it for later. She doesn’t want to argue with her mate before his cousin, who he clearly doesn’t like.
“Um, excuse me. I want to check on the meal.”She said and got up. Serena returned after some time to find her mate alone in the dining.
“Where is he?” Serena sat and probed.
“He’s out doing whatever. I don’t care.” King Zed answered.
Again, she wanted to ask him why he didn’t like his relatives but kept quiet. She thought for some time before changing the topic.
“I’ve been having this thought for long, and I need answers; how old are you exactly?”Serena asked.
King Zed’s tensed shoulder softened at the question as excitement filled his eyes.
“I thought you were never going to ask.” He sighed.
“Well, I’m over three centuries old. But you can say that I’m 35 currently. That’s what the humans believe my age to be.”
“Over three-century-old?? Are you that old?”Serena gasped.
“Geez!” She shook her head, earning a burst of small laughter from King Zed, making her laugh.
“Okay, next question. Do you indeed hate ladies? If yes, why do you hate my gender?”Serena probed again.
“Hmmm, I don’t necessarily hate the smart ones. Only those who think of me as someone they can quickly get. I hate females that think they have a chance with me, and their thinking is so disgusting, making me want to stay far away from them.” King Zed explained.
“Oh, you hate those that like you? Wow! So what if I’d like you from the start?” Serena went on questioning.
“I’ll still want you, and it won’t change the fact that you are my mate.” King Zed answered.
“Hmm, ” Serena nodded in thought.
“Okay, I’ve heard that you can’t be killed. I’ve heard those rumors countless times. How true is that?” She asked.
“Not entirely true. Of course, I can be killed. Now that I’m mated to you, I can quickly die if you do. The connection between us will weaken me and make my body like that of a human. One silver bullet will kill me. Even without the bullet, I can easily fall into depression and die naturally.”
“But without you dying or without being mated to you, I can still be killed. It’ll just be harder, and it’ll take a coven of witches and a lot of silver bullets wrapped in wolfsbane to kill me.”King Zed explained.
Serena instantly became sad at his words.
“So, if I die…”
“You won’t die. And the day we’re tired of the world, we can easily decide to rest. It would be best if you didn’t entertain that thought you’re having.” King Zed hushed taking her hands into his.
“But… enemies can quickly get to you through me I-”
“I told you not to entertain those silly thoughts. You won’t die, I’ll protect you, and I’ve already passed some of my powers to you. So you’re stronger than you think now.” King Zed cooed, trying to calm her down.
“Really?” Serena’s eyes widened. “You transferred some of your powers to me. When was that?” she curiously ask.
“Last night.” King Zed leaned closer and whispered into her ears.
Serena gaped, getting the picture of when he was transferring some of his mysterious powers to her.
“Could it be….?” She lifted her eyes to stare at him but saw him smirking.
“Was it when…? When…?” She found it hard to complete the words.
The way King Zed kept smirking while staring at her made her confirm her thoughts. She blushed and immediately ran into the kitchen. She was already getting embarrassed.
“And what about Beta Adam? I didn’t see him both yesterday and today.” Serena half yelled in question from the kitchen.
“He is sorry that he can’t see you for the last time. He already left with his mate but promised to visit frequently.”

After serving Duncan his food, he ate, and after making sure that he was far away from the castle, King Zed left Serena to what he now calls -their chamber.
“I need to shower, and my body is so hot from running around in the kitchen.” Serena said, pulling down her dress.
“Let me help you.” King Zed came behind her and helped zip down her dress. The dress fell, revealing just her pant since she wasn’t wearing a bra. Unwittingly, King Zed’s hands came forward, they landed on her boobs, and he started massaging them.
