THE CEO ALPHA KING (-Caught. Dealt with-)
Writer’s P O V
Two days later. Things have been going smoothly for Serena, and she has been living more freely in the castle. Somehow, she is no longer too scared of king Zed, though she respects him a lot.
Every time he calls for her, he asks her to do trivial things and then sends her off instantly. His sudden change worries Serena a bit, though. It’s like she is always unhappy whenever king Zed asks her to leave his chambers.
Right now, she is lying on her bed, staring up at the rolling fan. A knock comes on her door, and she quickly sits up. “Who is there?” She asks while trying to pick out the scent of the person.
“You asked me to help you so you could speak to the prisoners. The king is not around. You can see them now.” A very familiar male voice uttered.
“Oh,” she comprehended and immediately jumped down from the bed. She ran to open the door. It’s the guard she begged for help. The guard didn’t want to help her until Isaac talked to him.
“Let’s go,” Dave, the guard, paved the way for her.
“Thanks,” she smiled and walked out of her room. She shut the door behind her and followed the direction.
He led her to a prison that was built underground and is far worst than the one King Zed had locked her in.
She was surprised that such dungeons exist there. The whole place was like a feeding ground for pigs and all other wild animals. The smell can make you throw up ten times in one minute. It smells so awful and doesn’t look pleasant to the eyes.
“Who exactly do you want to see?” Dave asked.
“Martins, I want to speak to Martins,” Serena answered back him.
The guard led her to the place they kept Martins. He was sitting on the ground while his back rested on the dirty wall. He was all dirty, and he looked unfit.
“Be quick,” Dave said to Serena. He turned back and left her with him.
Martins still hadn’t noticed her because he was half asleep.
“Martins,” Serena took a breath in before calling. Martin’s eyes flinched open, and he turned towards the direction of the voice that called him to see Serena squatting and looking at him.
“Hey, why- why are you here?” Martins inquired, taking his eyes off her.
“I’m here to see you.” Serena looks so concerned at him.
“That’s it. Why do you want to see me?” he furrows his eyebrows at her.
“Because I have a question to ask you.” she flickered.
“Then go on with it. Leave after.” she sounds elegant and rude at the same time.
“Okay. Why did you do it? What you did to me, why did you do it?” Serena quizzed.
“Because I wanted my father to be the king. I’ll be a prince, and after his rule, I’ll be the king, and my son will be the king after me. Isn’t that a good reason?” Martins answered back.
“I thought you liked me. You were just using me. From the very beginning, you never liked me. You lied about your sister and your mother too, didn’t you?” Serena asked. Her voice was becoming husky.
“I didn’t. I had a sister and a mom too.” Martin’s voice was indeed enthusiastic.
“But you lied about their deaths. King Zed didn’t kill your mom, and bullies never killed your sister.” Serena declared.
“I never lied about that. It happened as I told you. I never lied. You can leave.” Martins frowned.
“Why are you making things hard for yourself? Can’t you repent? King Zed might forgive you. He might only punish you, and you might live.”
“Why do you care? Why do you care if I lived or died, huh? It’s my business whether I live or die.” Martins scoffed.
“I care because you’d do the same for me. You might be bad, but you never wanted me to die.” Serena said through loosened up breath. Martins looked at her because he heard it.
“You should leave, okay? Leave before the king finds out you visited me and throw a tantrum. At this rate, he could kill anyone that gets too close to you.” Martins ridiculed.
“Your feelings, were they ever real? Even for a minute. Did you ever feel something real for me?” Serena’s question surprised Martins.
He turned to look at her again.
“No. It’s was a lie and an obsession. So leave, I don’t want ever to see you. Don’t come back.” Martins snorted.
Serena stood up on her feet.
“This is all your father’s fault. If he hadn’t made you do all these, you wouldn’t have been in trouble. Your mother died because she listened to your father and tried seducing king Zed to know all his secrets and bring him down. Your father dug her own grave for her.” Serena acknowledged Martin on his father’s wrong.
“That’s a lie. My mom didn’t die that way. King Zed killed my mom because she rejected his advances and fell for my father.” Martins growled at her.
“Your father fed you enough lies, Martins. He has just been using you guys to get what he wants. It’s a pity that he’ll kill you the same way he killed your mother.”
“Get out! Stop talking. Just leave me the hell alone. I wanna be alone.” Martins flamed at her.
Serena hissed.
“Are you running away from the truth, Martins? I went to granny Felicia to gather all these pieces of information. I went to gather them for your sake, to help you get out of here so you won’t die alongside your father.” she utters.
“Granny Felicia explained things to me, and she told me she and your mother worked for king Zed. That day, your father came into the castle and saw how close and accessible they were around king Zed. He seduced your mom and married her but left her to continue working as a servant here. Then he could always visit. He could make her do things for him.” Serena gasped for breath as she continued to speak.
“Like betraying her friends and even seducing king Zed, that was how your mom died, Mart. It’s a sad truth. I’m sorry.” Serena narrated sadly.
Martins just kept his head buried in his palms.
“And- he is doing the same thing to you now. I bet he doesn’t regret it,” Serena added.
“Could you please, just leave? I appreciate your help, but I’m just as bad. I’m as bad as my father, so you don’t need to help me. You can hate me, and it’s easier for you to hate me. So please hate me, just leave me alone. I do not want to hear any other word from you.” Martins lifted his head from his palms and groaned.
Serena sighed. “Okay, I’ll get going. I will leave.” Serena muttered.
She turned her back to him. Serena stood for few seconds before turning to look at him again. His head is now buried in his palms again.
Serena turned at him once more, then left. Dave guided her out from the underground dungeon.
It was yesterday that she went to granny Felicia for help. She suspected that Martins had been manipulated. That time that his father had ordered his men to kill King Zed. Martins tried protesting because she was with him, but his father ended up enclosing his mouth. It was clear. Martins might be evil, but he doesn’t want her dead.
She went to granny Felicia to see if she could be of help to Martins. Granny Felicia told her all the stories about her and Martin’s mother. It made Serena understand more about what happened. She hoped she could convince Martins to betray his father since his father was using him, but it seems like her plan failed.
Serena sighed sadly. Just thinking about Martin’s dying makes her uncomfortable. Dying is never the solution to things. Serena believed.
She trudged until she got to her room. She opened the door and closed it. She proceeded into her room but noticed a scent there, and she saw someone’s presence in the room.
She lifted her head to look at her visitor.
“Emi?” she whispered in shock. “What are you doing here?” Serena groaned, obtaining anger.
Why won’t she just leave me alone?
“I came here to see you. I found your room unlocked and entered.” Emi replied, smiling.
She took her hand to her dress and pulled one handoff. Due to what she did, the upper part of her left breast also revealed itself.
She walked back slowly to sit on Serena’s bed. The gown she was putting on was pretty light. She lifted the down part and exposed her thighs too.
“Come and sit down. Let’s talk, let’s have a girl-to-girl talk.” Emi urged.
“I’m not interested in girls, and I don’t want to be your friend, so please leave right now before I call the guards on you or even inform the king,” Serena asserted.
Emi chuckled. “I did you two favors. You are yet to repay them. Why are you being so despicable and mean? Come and sit; it’s your room, isn’t it?” Emi chuckled.
“What do you want from me? Were you sent to do this? Huh!” Serena yelled, getting pissed.
Emi suddenly jumped down from the bed. She ran towards her to get her to the bed, but Serena pushed her off with all her strength. Emi flew back and hit her head on the wall, then passed out.
When the anger inside Serena went down, she went closer to Emi to notice that she wasn’t moving. -What the hell? Is she dead? Serena asked herself fearfully.
“Hey. Hey.” Serena called. She kicked her legs severally, but Emi still didn’t move. She turned and ran out of her room to call anyone she could find. She got to the entrance of the castle to see two guards there.
“There is someone inside my room. I think this person is dead, and I don’t-”
The guards rushed off to Serena’s room to check out what she was saying. Serena didn’t follow them. Instead, she went to look for granny Felicia to report what happened. She is scared that Emi is dead.
She went straight to granny Felicia’s room. She knocked and waited for a response.
“Is that you, Serena?” Granny Felicia’s distant voice asked.
“Yes. It’s urgent-I need to say something,” Serena replied. “What is it? Come in.” Serena opened her door and entered to see that granny Felicia was just coming out from the bathroom.
“What is it, child?” Granny Felicia asked.
“It’s… it’s that girl. It’s Emily. I think she is dead, she annoys me with her word, and I pushed her off, and she is not waking up now.” She hurried her words.
“Calm down. Explain things to me slowly. Don’t rush.” Granny Felicia urged.
*
Serena was relieved to hear that Emi had woken up. She was relieved to hear that the girl didn’t die. She has been explaining what happened, and now the whole people at the castle have heard her story. Even Beta Adam had interrogated her enough.
But from all her explanation, they found out that Emi was the one always going to her. Emi also got questioned. She didn’t lie about a thing and just told them the truth. She told Beta Adam that she liked girls and missed their touch; she pleaded with them to announce the problem at hand to the king.
Beta Adam, later on, reported Emily’s explanation to king Zed.
“So, she did what she did so I can let her out?” King Zed questioned.
“It seems so, Your Highness. She planned it and knew you might send her away if she got close again to Serena. I mean, everyone knew how you treated her that last time. It’s unexpected how you treated her.” Beta Adam mumbled.
“So, what are you trying to say?” King Zed groaned, giving him the coldest stare.
“I’m -I’m suggesting you send her away as she wants. Maybe you should give her her freedom back.” Beta Adam pleaded on Emi’s behalf.
“She doesn’t deserve it, even in a hundred years to come. Her mother doesn’t want it either. Take her out of my castle, take her far away, and lock her up there. Suppose she can’t do it here. It doesn’t mean she can’t do it elsewhere.” King Zed ordered.
