Writer’s POV
When Serena opened her eyes, she was immediately blinded by the bright lights from the chandelier above her and shut them immediately and decided to use her other senses.
The bed was soft against her back and she felt a duvet sprayed over her, and as she opened her eyes slowly this time she looked around the room she was in. It was familiar and she shot up from the bed in shock.
A wave of dizziness flushed through her and she closed her eyes, resting her back against the headboard before opening them again to see a pair of cold grey ones fixed on her.
She gasped in shock as King Zed stood watching her intensely.
She was even in his room! On his bed!
What the hell am I doing here? She thought, looking everywhere else as if to find the answers written on the wall.
Her body shook as she stared down at the floor speechlessly. She doesn’t understand why she was here nor remember what happened from the previous night.
Looking down at the floor, she noticed pieces of her torn dress clinging to her skin under the duvet and gasped in shock.
She didn’t know what to say or do as her cheeks flushed red, she was hoping the king said something first as she was too embarrassed to speak nor think, for fear that the king would read her thoughts. She gently climbed down from the bed and stood naked in front of him.
Five minutes passed and no word was uttered, King Zed looked down at her silently and she shifted uncomfortably under his penetrating gaze.
It made her very confused, her legs shook and she struggled to remain standing, even tears gathered up her eyes and threatened to fall but she held it in and kept looking down to the floor.
“You sleep very deeply, you slept through the night without even making a sound. Just lying there like a corpse.” King Zed finally spoke up.
Serena gulped and said nothing in response. It took every fiber of her body to remain the way she was, she almost looked up at him but knew that was not an option.
The king walked to the window, his gaze tore away from her and she almost breathed a sigh of relief.
“You don’t remember what happened. I want you to remember what you did, why I had to save someone like you.” He said, fixing his gaze on his estate as if admiring all he owned.
Serena slowly turned to face him and in a flash, memories from the previous night rushed into her mind as they replayed everything that had happened.
Her eyes widened in realization.
That maid. She screamed inside her head.
That maid, what did she give to me? Serena wondered.
“So you took something from someone who you barely know?” King Zed turned to look at her again, his brows furrowed.
She lowered her head, speechless.
Serena remembered the moment when the king showed up and how she ripped her dress in front of him, she remembered the sexual urge and desire that took over her.
Serena bite her lower lip hard at the memory. She wishes she could just disappear or do the ground to open up and swallow her whole.
How was she still standing behind the king? She asked herself, embarrassment was an understatement to how she felt right now.
“You acted like a shewolf in heat, I’ve called a doctor to examine you. I need to know what the human girl gave to you, for now go to your room and get dressed.” King Zed ordered, not turning to look at her.
“Yes master.” Serena murmured, happy that he was letting her go. She turned and immediately left through the door.
The guards at the door turned to look at her awkwardly. Of course they saw the king carry her in last night and since they didn’t see her leave, they could only guess what had happened.
It was strange to them as no female has ever slept in the king’s chambers before. It made Serena the first to ever do so.
Serena noticed their curious eyes on her and bit on her lips harder.
She prayed that she wouldn’t run into anyone till she got to her room but her prayer wasn’t answered as she bumped into Beta Adam and a man who she can’t recognize.
Beta Adam gave her a knowing look and continued walking with the man beside him.
Serena couldn’t even utter a word, she was so embarrassed she could hardly form a reasonable sentence.
She came across two other servants that stayed at the mini mansion, they also gave her a weird look before she walked past them and finally got to her room.
After she entered, she locked the door and rested her head against it.
Oh my gosh! Moon goddess! What just happened?
Is this a dream? No! I must be really dreaming. How is it possible that I slept on the king’s bed? Did he sleep beside me?
Moon goddess! Serena gasped and covered her mouth in shame as her cheeks flushed red.
Hold on, why would he let me sleep on his bed?
He couldn’t have possibly shared the bed with me. Where on earth did he sleep then? Oh, he has an inner room, he must have slept there.
This is weird. This is really strange. How did things get this bad?
I can’t believe the king saw me naked!
Where is Isaac? Oh goddess! I can’t do this anymore. I just want to die. I want to disappear from this earth. She thought as soon started to cry.
I wish I could just call Isaac. I miss him, if he was still here, he could have prevented this from happening to me. What am I going to do without him?
And what was that? I spent a whole night in the king’s chamber. In his room?!
Who will believe that? I can’t believe it either. Serena laughed at her own thoughts before slapping her head and walking off to the bathroom to shower.
By the time she was done and all changed, she jumped to her bed, burying her face against the pillow.
“Serena, to the king’s chambers now!” Serena suddenly heard Beta Adam’s voice speak telepathically to her.
Did he just mind-link me? Serena thought sitting up on her bed.
And did he just ask me to go back to the king’s chamber? Someone just save me please. Save me. Let me disappear, I can’t do this anymore.
I thought I was strong enough but now I know I’m not. I just can’t face him anymore. Serena thought, climbing down from her bed and leaving her room.
To her relief there was no one in the hallway, no curious stares watching her. She knew the news of what happened would have gone round the whole castle.
I really don’t want to do this. Serena thought sadly but didn’t have a choice as she got closer to the king’s chambers. She would still have to face the guards and get cheeks blushed red. And then she would have to face the king once more.
The king who she literally spent a night on his bed.
On a man’s bed?! She screamed at herself. This was so new to her and she had never experienced it before
“Where are you Serena? Don’t keep the king waiting.” Beta Adam mind-linked her again.
She hastened up then and walked towards the guards who started staring at her again, exchanging curious looks with his friend.
“Your Highness….” One of them announced.
“Let her in.” Beta Adam cut the guard before he could finish.
The guards stepped out of the way after opening the door for Serena. Serena slowly walked in to see the man with Beta Adam from earlier.
The gaze he sent her clarified that he might have also heard of the scandal from last night and he blushed in embarrassment.
“Your Highness, good morning.” Serena bowed in submission when she got close to him. He was a tall man with dark hair and soft blue eyes, he wore a dark suit that made him appear taller than Adam.
Beta Adam was a little bit confused by her greetings.
She woke up on his bed right? Didn’t she greet him then or is she still drunk? Beta Adam wondered.
Being a Beta, a right hand man to the most powerful werewolf King ever known was not a small task at all and he had to do everything the king wanted.
Most Betas were friends with their Alphas but he wouldn’t dare, he wouldn’t dare try to be his friend. It has never flashed in his head to him to even try it out. The king was too fearful and dangerous.
“Check on her, Elijah.” King Zed ordered, turning to the man and his beta who stood beside him.
“Right away your Highness.” The man bowed a bit before opening a box Serena didn’t notice was with him.
“Please come and sit down here.” The man urged Serena who quickly moved her feet to the sofa before sitting on it, her curious gaze on the man she knew as Elijah.
On taking out a syringe from the box, she discovered he was a doctor.
He tested it with something and after some time turned to King Zed who was already busy talking with his Beta.
“My King. Your Highness.” The doctor called King Zed’s attention.
“Speak, Elijah.”
“From the test I just performed, the drug that was affecting her has already reduced in her system. The drug is used mostly by humans and since she is half human, it affected more than usual. The drug is an aprosaidac, it is used to boost sexual needs in humans. It has other side effects which can cause dizziness. It is popularly known to be very effective, most humans won’t be able to rest until they….”
The doctor paused and coughed uncomfortably before continuing.
“Until they have their ‘release’. I don’t know if she already had that, if she hasn’t had her release it might affect her in the near future. She will tend to get more horny whenever she sees the opposite sex, she will get a lot of crazy ideas to have….”
“That is enough. I’ve heard enough, you can leave, Elijah.” King Zed interrupted angrily.
“At your command, your Highness.” Doctor Elijah bowed briefly before leaving with his medical items.
Serena remained seated on the sofa, trying to convince herself that she hadn’t just heard what the doctor said.
She can’t just bring herself to accept that she had taken such a thing into her system last night.
And did he just say that I must have my release. Release? I don’t even know how to get that. I have never been like that with a man before, I don’t know what it feels like. What on earth am I going to do?
And he said if I don’t have my release, it will affect me. I will start getting horny whenever I see the opposite sex. And I’m always called upon by the king.
What am I going to do? Getting horny in front of the king. That can’t happen again. I can’t let that happen to me.
I really need to speak with Isaac. I need to talk to him badly. I need his help if I’m going to survive all these. Serena’s thought deeply, biting down her Los unconsciously.
“Adam, I need you to send for her immediately.”
“Yes your Highness,” Beta Adam nodded before heading towards the door. He spared Serena a glance before stepping out.
There was a moment he wanted to laugh when doctor Elijah had mentioned release but he knew better than to laugh in front of the king. It will probably infuriate him.
How did she get herself into that? Adam wondered as he ordered one of the guards outside the king’s door to go call Emily.
The guard came back with Emily who shook in fear. She knew she was doomed when King Zed caught her last night. And as she followed the Beta, she prayed for her life.
