“It is not your turn, madam.” A man dressed in black attire tells Isabella as she increases her pace with haste, darting her eyes forward and backward the compound.
“It’s not my turn to do what?” She retorts. Now, we are all with her except Karl who is sitting inside the car.
“Today is the first day of celebration. So, to see Robert, you have to be patient.” He explains and Isabella hiccups.
“Who are you?” Dylan asks.
“I’m his personal assistant.” He bows his head a bit and smirks.
“I’m not interested in this kind of talk. Just let us in if you don’t want any problem, okay?” I speak up, and he kind of frowns his face.
“Problem?” He asks, directing us to a seat. “Don’t repeat that. I’ll let him know there are people waiting for him here.”
“Add the tone of urgency.” Dylan says, shutting Isabella up. The man soon enters the office and in few seconds he comes out again and waves at us.
“You can go in. Quick.” He tells us, and we all stand up as Isabella marches towards him.
“Whoa. This place has been refurbished.” I remark. “This is so nice. How much did all these cost?” I don’t even know that Dylan and Isabella are seated with Greg already. I take another seat opposite Greg’s and he sighs, staring at me in irritation.
“Mister Robert, we are here for Sophia.” I tell him, relocating to one of the swivel chairs.
“Though every where has been refurbished, the pattern of this office still remains the same. Like, can’t you just see…?” I start to rant but Robert cuts in.
“I thought you wanted to say something?”
“Yes. Isabella, speak up.” I swivel the chair and shrug my shoulders.
“Yeah, actually. I’m here to see my daughter. That’s Sophia.” She says, and I nod. Dylan nods too but once I see Greg nod, I stop nodding. Stupid mate staring at my nakedness without being marked yet.
“Well, today is 20th December, you’re so lucky to be able to get in here. I honestly don’t know how it happened. Maybe you cast a spell…” He adjusts his glasses. “… today is the day of coronation for many wolves so we are very busy.”
“That’s not her question, sir.” Dylan comes in and stands up.
“She was saying…” He demonstrates with his hands, walking up to Robert’s table.
“Can you please have your seat, sir?” Robert says, and Dylan obeys. “Now, you can talk.”
“Where is Sophia? We want to see her.” Greg adds.
“She’s getting mated today as well.” Robert says. “Though she won’t be marked but she has already gotten her mate.”
“The… the… fuck.” Isabella stammers. “She’s not… she’s not… Eighteen yet.. where is … is her?”
“I’ll call for her if that’s what you want but note that you won’t be able to take her home.”
“Why? Why wouldn’t I?” Isabella asks, shuddering and facing Dylan.
“Leaving here without getting mated when you have your mate already is another word for not getting your real mate for ever. This place is bound by rules and regulations, not physical rules only though.” Robert explains and Isabella starts to reason with him.
“Recently, there came up an issue and it all dealt with witches and wizards stuff…” He stops talking and signals to Greg.
“Drag down the curtain. Shut the windows tight.” He tells Greg and he does it.
“This wizard power is the one binding mates together nowadays. Without this wizard power, you might refuse your mate within a week. Just a week!”
“But that didn’t happen to my mate.” I retort, and my lips quiver on sighting Greg who is only smirking and winking at me.
“Yes, actually, that didn’t happen to my mate.” He repeats. “How come it happens now?”
“When did you get your mate?” Robert asks.
“Around September.” Greg replies.
“And you?” Robert asks me and I stare at Greg. “Around August.” I lie, though not really a lie but Greg knows it’s all cooked up.
“This started this December and I’m happy to announce to you that Sophia has gotten her mate as an under age. She will be under his care and protection till she gets to age eighteen and that’s around…? Isabella?” He calls her and she jerks back to reality.
“Oh, sir?” She suddenly says.
“When’s Sophia’s day?” I ask her and she yawns out loud.
“It’s May. The first week in may. May 4.” She clarifies, and we all sigh.
“Please, can I see my daughter? She must not get mated to just anyone.”
“Not just anyone.” Robert replies almost immediately. “It is the Alpha of a pack.”
“The name of the pack? The identity of the Alpha?” I start to get impatient, my mind going to either Jude or Maxwell.
“It is neither Jude or Maxwell.” Robert tells me and i fall from the swivel chair.
“How did you hear my mind? Did I give you the access?” I ask and Isabella helps me up.
“No, you didn’t. You don’t have to. As I said, the witch and wizard power is reigning now. And sadly, once you drop the power, you can’t get it again.”
“Do you mean you’ve been blessed with the witch and wizard power?” Greg asks and Robert nods.
“Wow. So, witches and wizards can read minds.” I sit back on the swivel chair as I recline my back. They return to normalcy giving me a good internal shape.
“Yes. They can. But not all minds.” Robert replies. “That is all contained in a diary, we will surely discuss that later. Can I attend to the next customer?”
“Is this attention?” Isabella flares up. “Where is my daughter? But you keep on ranting and ranting about one kind of witch and wizard power. Get me my daughter now and don’t let me repeat myself.”
“Violence doesn’t work here. You can repeat yourself. I’ll order from your daughter now but what happens to you next will be your misfortune and not mine.” Robert splutters and claps his palms together.
“I heard her father was missing. If she suddenly sees you especially her father she might collapse or slump. She’s gone through a lot and you have to sit her down and act like a therapist not like one kind of shit bag!
“Okay, thank you.” Isabella shuts her eyes. “Let’s go, you all.”
I snap my fingers and we stand up. We jerk the door open and instead of Robert to tell us to wait for Sophia, he rather calls the next customer.
“Fuck you.” Dylan shows him the middle finger, and we walk away from his office. We walk around the school, checking around the play grounds, tennis court, foot ball field, main classes but we can’t find Sophia.
“I got an idea.” I tell them and their mind pricked immediately I talked.
“Since Sophia has gotten her mate already, let’s mind link her to ask her where she Is.”
“She can’t be mind linked oops. It’s new, so we don’t even have the signal. We can’t.”
“We can.”
“How?”
“Through the wizard power.” I retort. “You heard a lot from Robert.”
“Do you still have the power in you? I thought we’ve left them all when moon goddess appeared to us?”
“Yes, I have left the power but I tapped it from Robert. We have been in the same status for a while now until we were separated so it’s hard for me not to tap from him.” I tell them.
“You’re originally a wolf. You’re only a vampire because you tapped it from Ben.” Isabella teases and we get to sit down on a settee. No one is available here – sitting beside us, no.
“Screw that. Mind link Sophia if that’s possible.” Dylan says, now becoming worried for Sophia.
“I’m trying to.” I tell them and my face expression changes, it glows rather too heavenly.
“Oh my goodness, Sophia.” I call her in my mind link but I can only see a wolf without full ears sitting on a bench and sending me away.
“Don’t use the power again. It makes the time of getting your mate slower.” Greg tells me but I yell at him to shut the fuck up.
“I can’t find Sophia.” I tell them but I think I can see her wolf.
“I don’t know why.” I answer Dylan’s unasked question and as I relax myself from all the stress of finding Sophia, our eyes connect and travel to a direction. Another person’s. No, two people’s.
Sophia and her so-called mate are right here in front of us.
