“Luna. Moon goddess has answered all our questions. Let’s get going.” I tell Greg and we all rise up.
“Who is left?” Greg dusts his shirt, and clicks his tongue.
“Sophia and Isabella.” Rose replies, and we start to move. Karl and Ben walks faster than we are walking even to a point of attracting one’s attention.
“Karl, Ben, I hope all is well.” I tell him, seeing him moving very quickly.
“All is well. I just feel tired and groggy. I wanna get there on time.” Karl replies, slowing down the pace with which he walks.
“Get where?” Rose questions.
“To our pack house, of course.” He replies, almost immediately.
“I advise that we shift and get there quickly.” Rose suggests.
“But our energy will be drained. And again, we won’t have any clothes on.” I object. “Hunters are active now, we might get injured.”
“Alrighty, it’s okay. Let’s keep trekking.” Greg says, and we keep moving.
“But, is the pack house still active after several months?” I ask Karl and he sighs.
“It is. Just that no one lives there. As I told you, half of my members escaped while half were abducted by Jude into his pack.”
“Oh-oh.” I remark.
“I suggest we go straight to Dylan’s home first.” Greg says. “Through that, we will meet Isabella and rub minds together on how to get where Sophia is and to retrieve half of the pack members.
“Moon goddess said Sophia is in school.” Rose retorts.
“Okay. Screw that. I almost forgot.” He hits his head and we finally cross a path and head to my home. My smell and other sensitive qualities of my wolf return into me and I smell my wolf. I know Isabella is around here.
“Come on, boss. Dodge here. I want to make it a surprise.” Greg lowers me to the ground and go over into my house.
“Peace be unto this home.” He says, and knocks hard on the door. Karl stands with him and Rose cuddles him. Almost immediately, keys are heard jingling and the door opens. I raise my head a bit and I see Isabella with her usual beautiful face.
“Luna Isabella, we are here.” Karl salutes her and marches towards the sofa as he sits. I get out of my hiding place and I peep through the window.
“Karl of Moon Team pack?” Is all she can say with mouth agape. “Are you sure it isn’t your clone?”
“No, it isn’t.” Greg says. “So you know about clones too?”
“Yes, I do but I have been warned to stay away from anything called witch or wizard.”
“So, Rose, were you and Sophia able to retake the examination?”
“No, mother.” She replies. “The master didn’t agree.” She shakes her head and sniffles.
“That’s to say she’s gonna repeat this grade, huh?” She asks, her hands folded across her arms.
“No, she won’t. I know the Teacher, don’t bother. Okay?” Rose encourages her.
“Well, not only Karl was saved. Dylan was saved too.” Rose speaks up, and wink at me.
“Stop all these! The moon goddess has asked us to detach from witch or wizard power so why all these hallucinations?” She splutters.
“We are not hallucating.”
“Proof?”
“Wanna see him?”
“Yes.” She replies. “But what if it is his clone?”
“You’ll never believe! I know! Just take this book and throw it at him.” Rose dashes words at her. “He will disappear if it’s just a clone.”
“Okay. Let me try that.” She replies, and reads the title of the book. “Vampire Diaries.”
“Okay, fine. Let him enter.” She finally says, and I creak the door open.
“Dylan? Please, come in.” Greg calls me, and I open the door immediately, shutting it behind as well.
“Whatttt….” Isabella starts to drool.
“Throw the book at him to confirm.” Rose bugs her. She dumps the book on the ground and run towards me. She hugs me tightly and sobs. I sniffle in return and all I can say is, “all is well.”
“Where did you go to, Dylan?” She beats my chest. “We thought you’re dead.”
“Yes, I was actually feeling lifeless after the hot argument with Jude but I jerked up to real life after a while.”
“This is goodnews.” She pouts her lips, and pecks me on my chins.
“Yes, it is.” I reply, and take a seat.
“Sophia must hear this. I heard that she’s in school.” Isabella says and Rose clears her throat.
“What of Jude? Did he protect my daughter well? I hope my daughter is safe.” She faces Rose and Rose nods.
“Well, well, Sophia will resume the last grade between January and May.” Isabella says. “I’m still shocked to believe Dylan is right here with me.”
“She will be eighteen by May.” She repeats. “She will shift into her Wolf, be able to mind link, get her mate, have a good life, enjoy sprinting shifting, go…” Karl cuts in.
“It’s alright. We hope she gets her right mate.”
“And who the fuck is this?” She points to Ben, grinning and fuming.
“Ben, Luna.” Ben bows his head a bit. Isabella shuts her eyes but open ’em in a millisecond.
“What are you doing here, you stupid dickhead!” She barks at him and start to form punches. Ben tries to stand and move back but I signal to him. Since he doesn’t understand, I speak up.
“She can’t shift unless she’s pretty hurt or very happy.”
“Well, that WAS My case. Moon goddess restrained me from using the power of a witch so she offered me another set of benefits.” She stifles giggles.
“That’s great!” Greg comments.
“Really?” I face her, expecting a quick response.
“Yes, sure.” She replies. “Let me seevw you jambalaya and Hennessy.”
“We don’t want.” Rose says. “You don’t know more than jambalaya. Your daughter is out there…” She stops abruptly.
“Tell me, isn’t she in school?” She asks and I shiver.
“She is, for sure.”
“In the first place, why did you leave school?”
“Since I wasn’t granted the opportunity to retake the examinations, so what’s the point?” She retorts.
“And you had to leave her behind? I asked Jude to handle her with iron hands. Did he?”
“Maybe.” I shrug my shoulders and Dylan clears his throat.
“Flu or fever?” I ask, playing along with him.
“None.” Isabella remarks and Dylan smirks.
“We came here to rub minds on how to rescue Sophia.” Greg speaks up but lowers it into whispers when he realizes that Isabella shouldn’t know that Sophia is PROBABLY in school. Maybe we shouldn’t doubt the moon goddess?
“Now, I’m smelling something fishy. Get me my daughter right here, please.” Isabella changes her mood, and heads to her room.
“Isabella?” I call her but she doesn’t reply. She opens her door and shuts it behind her with force.
“She must be stupid.” Rose remarks, gnashing her teeth.
“Let’s go collect Sophia from school, shall we?” Rose suggests and we all nod.
“But” Karl objects in his hoarse voice, contradicting his first sign of approval. “I won’t be able to go, I’m old and I need some rest.”
“Okay, no problem.” I shrug my shoulders.
“I might not go as well.” Greg says, and yawns.
“And why is that?” Rose directs her question sharply at him.
“I’m damn tired.”
“We all are.” I retort, quickly.
“I need some rest.” He lays down on the sofa.
“Are you old?” I ask him and he chuckles softly.
“I need to get some rest too.” I say, and walk into Isabella’s room. She opens it, and shuts it behind me immediately I enter. She locks the door and joins me in bed.
“Plans for tomorrow?” She asks, forcing a smile but I only grin.
