“Evidence?” Elena Bush raised an eyebrow, intrigued instead, “And where does that start?”
“I have proof that Kent and I were together and Blanche is nothing but a shameful third party!”
With that she flipped out her phone album, a picture of Kent topless, and lying on one side was a selfie of Abbie, snuggled up in his arms, looking like a little bird.
Elena Bush’s hands shook and she almost thought she had looked away.
She tried to convince herself that it was just a Photoshopped photo, but there was no trace of it, it was a picture of the two of them!
Elena Bush was suddenly confused, she couldn’t understand how Kent, who had such a low IQ, could still roll into bed with Abbie.
Abbie took in all her reactions, and she pulled the corners of her mouth in a sad smile.
“Elena, we were so wonderful and so happy together, but everything started to change because Blanche came along.”
Elena Bush’s eyes flickered and she couldn’t say half a word.
Abbie continued to take her hand, “Elena, I’ve never begged anyone in my life, this time I’m begging you, please help me!”
She had spent almost all of her best years with Kent, and she didn’t know what she would do if she really couldn’t have him.
And she would never agree to watch Kent and Blanche be happy, let alone swallow it!
Elena Bush shook off her hand, her face cold.
“Elena?”
Abbie’s shaken hand froze in mid-air and she looked at her blankly.
Elena Bush quickly straightened her face, her pink lips pursed into a straight line.
“Miss Burne, I have yet to examine what you have said, after all I can’t make any decisions based on a photograph.”
“Isn’t that enough? I’ve been with Kent, that’s an undisputed fact!”
“I know that.”
“Then why not help me?” Abbie was a little hurt.
Were her words that unconvincing?
Elena Bush shook her head, “I need to go back and check with Kent, and if he did do this, I’m sure I won’t let him off the hook either!”
“No, he won’t say anything.” Abbie looked resistant, “He won’t even admit to having been with me, so even if you ask and tell him more it won’t do any good!”
“Then it’s my business.”
Elena Bush remained adamant.
Abbie really had no choice but to nod and give in.
“Fine, you could have asked, but he would have never admitted it either, I just hope that even then, in the end, you would have chosen to help me.”
Elena Bush squeezed her palms, “It’s not your turn to decide those things, I’ll figure it out myself.”
“OK.”
She took a few steps back and stopped pulling on Elena Bush.
The more open she was, the more Elena Bush frowned, always feeling like something was premeditated.
It was only too late for her to think more about it, and the ringing of the phone in her pocket came suddenly, from Logan Brown.
“I’ll get back to you if I’ve thought it through.”
She dropped the words coldly, then left quickly without further hesitation.
Abbie didn’t go up to stop her, but just watched her back.
Elena Bush returned Logan Brown’s message on the way and hurried back to the flat, where Kent happened to be in the living room, and Elena Bush tugged him by the back of his collar and headed for the bedroom.
Kent was practically dragged all the way to the bedroom and it wasn’t until he was in the room and the door slammed shut that Elena Bush let go of him.
“What are you doing?” Kent covered his stuck throat with some difficulty.
“You and Abbie have been together?”
Kent gave her a suspicious look, “Who did you hear this nonsense from?”
“Abbie.”
“Heh!” Kent sneered, “I knew it was her!”
Kent said, looking at her suddenly and seriously, “When did you go to see her, why didn’t I know?”
Elena Bush waved her hand away, “Never mind that, now I’m the one asking you if you were ever really with Abbie!”
“No way!”
Kent rolled his eyes outright.
Elena Bush was silent for a moment, looking at him conspiratorially, looking at him for a moment, turning to shudder immediately, “What are you doing? You don’t trust me to doubt me, do you?”
Kent blushed a little harder, all stemming from Elena Bush’s suspicion.
“Then why are you sleeping with her?”
“Sleeping …… with her!?”
Kent choked and coughed several times before he finally got his breath back, “No, why do you believe everything Abbie says, she’s a nutcase, you don’t believe me and you’re going to believe her?”
Kent was suddenly a little upset.
Elena Bush shook her head, but saw that he was half-heartedly talking and her mind was growing stranger by the minute.
“Kent, listen to me clearly, it’s not about me doubting you now, it’s about the fact that Abbie now has a picture of you with her in her possession and neither you nor she are wearing any clothes!”
“Impossible!” Kent’s voice was cold, “You must be looking at it wrong.”
“I know you no matter what you look like, what could I possibly see wrong?” Elena Bush said, edging closer, “Kent, I’m telling you, don’t lie to me, tell me everything that happened between you and Abbie!”
Blanche was a good person and she didn’t want Blanche to be deceived by him.
Kent felt a sense of injustice in his heart and felt that he couldn’t explain himself any further.
“Elena Bush, look at me!”
He took her face and made her gaze at him, and Elena Bush didn’t duck.
Kent gritted his teeth, “Look at me, do you think I would lie to you? I’m your brother and I’m Kent, even if I was confused I wouldn’t be with Abbie and then come back to mess with Blanche!”
“Then how do you explain the photos?”
“How do I know where she got that fucking picture from!” Kent nearly shouted.
Elena Bush immediately shot a look at him, signalling him to keep his voice down.
Kent turned away, a little exasperated, and searched his mind for when he had let Abbie take the picture.
After a quick glance around the room, he paused sharply to look at her, “Could the picture you’re looking at be a joint ……”
“No!”
Elena Bush denied without even thinking about it.
In a flash, Kent just felt his head hurt more.
Elena BushMonica looked at him, “Kent, I don’t care where that picture actually came from, but you have to get it back or if Blanche sees it, you should know the consequences!”
