Vincent is fine ……
But would it really be alright?
No one dared to guarantee or ensure what the consequences would actually be, so the moment his words were just spoken, the air instantly froze with him and no one spoke up again ……
Kent looked at the two of them and wordlessly clenched his fists.
Even though neither of them was even remotely related to Vincent, the previous encounter was all too vivid for him to forget ……
“Swish!”
The door to the operating room was suddenly opened and the nurse came out in a hurry, “Who is the child’s family?”
“Me!”
The director was the first to raise his hand, his wrinkled face filled with determination, “I’m the child’s family, Miss Nurse how is the child now, is he alright ……”
The nurse shook her head, “The child has now suffered a severe head injury and is now also losing too much blood, the blood bank is running low on RH negative blood, do any of your family members have RH negative blood!”
RH negative blood ……
The dean stumbled a little on her feet, a little wobbly, this blood type is rare and scarce, major hospitals are always in a state of scarcity, at this time …… let her go where ……
“I am ……”
Blanche’s weak voice came through.
Not only the dean, Kent also froze and looked at the voice, but saw that Blanche had walked up to the nurse and said through clenched teeth, “I am RH negative blood, you can draw mine anytime if you need to!”
The nurse nodded and dragged her straight to the laboratory.
Kent gave a jolt, and after a quick reassurance to the dean, he followed after her.
“Excuse me, sir, this place is off limits!”
“I’m worried about her.” Kent pointed at Blanche.
Blanche’s face went white and she looked over, and the familiar face and familiar eyes were looking at her in the same way, causing her heart to skip a beat.
The nurse patted her arm, “Take it easy for a moment, miss ……”
“Oh.”
Blanche nodded, her eyes skimmed the sharp pillow and she couldn’t help but shake with fear, her whole body shaking like a sieve.
Kent squeezed his palms and took a few steps forward, pushing past the nurse who had stopped himself.
“This gentleman ……”
Before the nurse could finish her sentence, Blanche felt a nice scent suddenly hit her face. She looked up and before she could get a good look at the person in front of her, she saw that the person had quickly wrapped her up tightly in his arms.
“Kent?”
“Shh!” Kent said coldly, “Don’t talk, don’t think, and don’t be afraid ……”
As he spoke, he gave a look to the nurse who responded and immediately nodded as the needle was quickly inserted ……
“Ugh!”
Blanche struggled violently, luckily Kent’s hands were holding her tightly this prevented her from jumping up violently.
She almost wanted to cry from the pain, but the man’s voice in her ear was as gentle as it had ever been, and he said, “Don’t be afraid ……”
Slowly, as if she could not notice any pain either, her small body curled up in the embrace that was reassuring enough ……
Blanche didn’t know whether she had passed out due to anaemia or whether she had fallen asleep because Kent’s embrace had been too comfortable.
When she woke up again, her head was a little dizzy and she woke up to a white haze, with no familiar figures in the ward.
Perhaps they had all gone to see Vincent, she thought.
She made a move to get up, but before she could do so, Kent was already out and pressing her back into the bed.
The man’s tall frame stood in front of her, putting her in a bit of a trance, “Why are you here ……”
“Where else would I be if I wasn’t here?” Kent gave her a sidelong glance.
“What about Vincent?”
“Because of your timely help, he’s fine.”
At that, Blanche let out a long breath and lay back on the bed looking at the ceiling, “It’s good to be okay ……”
Kent wrinkled his brow at her appearance, “You’re in this state, why are you still thinking about worrying about others, think about yourself first!”
“That’s different, I’m just tired.” Blanche said stiffly, but when she moved her lips, she found that her whole body was really sore, probably from lifting and carrying.
Kent could not help but sink his face again when he saw her look of distress and said, “Look at you, you’ve been told to rest and you’ve been tossing and turning.”
With that, he poured her a glass of warm water and handed it to her, even putting a straw in it.
Blanche drank the water, which finally eased the dryness in her throat a little.
“Thanks.”
“Thank you for what, it should be me who should be thanking you for Vincent.” The man’s large hand fell on the top of her head and stroked it gently, “If it wasn’t for you, maybe he wouldn’t be alive, and you saved his life.”
“I just did what I had to do.”
Kent suddenly withdrew his hand and grunted coldly, “Then you didn’t have to not care about your body!”
It was good that she was trying to save someone’s life, but that little body was so obviously malnourished and severely anaemic that the nurse was afraid to continue drawing blood halfway through, and she woke up while she was sleeping to keep drawing blood until she had the amount Vincent needed urgently, which made him angry and helpless!
Blanche didn’t understand where his ugly face was coming from, but the moment she met that look she couldn’t help but be scared.
“I know I was wrong, and I won’t do it next time.”
The woman’s voice was soft and seemingly whining, where could one hesitate at that moment when human lives were at stake?
Kent gave her a deep look and finally let out another long sigh, “Forget it ……”
Blanche curled her eyes and smiled, then nodded in approval, “No, the most important thing is that Vincent is fine, and if I’m anaemic I’ll get it back in a couple of meals at most, right?”
She smiled a flawless smile and blinked innocently at him, as if she was saying something sensible.
Kent gave her a cross look, resentful but unable to refute her words.
Blanche was discharged after just one day, while Vincent was kept in hospital to recuperate from a serious brain injury.
During this time, Kent’s tonic was almost constant, brought to her over and over again, making her almost vomit.
At the end of the day, the little woman pressed Kent with a grateful look on her face, “Sir Lewis, I’m completely healed, I don’t need to take any more tonic!”
She was afraid that if she continued to take them, she might over-supplement herself!
