Chapter 632 Will not meet again

Book:Mr. Brown's Sweet Wife Published:2024-5-28

Logan Brown looked at her surprised expression and sighed softly in helplessness, “What, did I say something wrong?”
Elena Bush snapped back to her senses and shook her head, “I was just thinking that there’s really nothing I’m hiding from you.”
It was hard to tell whether it was exasperation or helplessness.
“Who let you have everything written on your face?”
“Is it that obvious?” She touched her face, a little confused.
The man nodded and looked at her stony face, “People get old and sick and die, so don’t get so sentimental just because a few people leave, just know that I’ll be there for you no matter what.”
“Mmm.”
The little woman answered, her small face pressed against his chest.
Through the heavy prison doors, Elena Bush saw Mason Bush again with a thoroughness about him that she couldn’t ignore, as if he had grown accustomed to life at this point.
“Mr Bush ……” Elena Bush squeezed her palms and looked at him as if two worlds had separated them.
Mason Bush nodded repeatedly and sat down in front of her, “You …… you came to see me?”
“Yeah.”
The two looked at each other and smiled, but neither spoke.
There was a slight stagnation in the air that made it difficult to know how to break the silence.
Mason Bush smiled after a moment of silence, “Are your injuries …… all better now?”
“It’s fine.” She guffawed and subconsciously hid her hands behind her back so he wouldn’t see the ugly scars on her hands.
“That’s good, then ……,” Mason Bush responded, secretly relieved.
Elena Bush looked up, a twinkle in her eyes as she looked at him, “Mister Bush, you ……”
“Stop calling me Mr. Bush, if you don’t want to call me Dad, then just call me by my first name.” Mason Bush interrupted with a wave of his hand.
The words Mr Bush, how could he even call himself that with his current respectable appearance?
With a bitter smile on his face and a heavy expression on Elena Bush’s, he hesitated for a moment and said, “Jacqueline’s dead, committed suicide this morning.”
“Dead?” Mason Bush wasn’t too surprised, just a flash of helplessness, “Dead so be it, for her to die now is the best way to be relieved …… otherwise, her life will live in the gloom after all.”
“Elena ……” he called out to her suddenly.
Elena Bush looked over in obedience, laced with confusion.
Mason Bush, however, always smiled, “I’ve always felt ashamed of you for what happened to you. I knew Emma hated you, but I never wanted to reconcile you sisters, so when she begged me to get back at you, I know I made Emma this way step by step and I am responsible ……”
“No ……”
Elena Bush’s words were barely out of her mouth when Mason Bush had already squeezed her shoulder, “Just take it easy and hear me out first.”
Elena Bush lowered her eyes and didn’t speak after all.
Mason Bush looked at her in a trance, “At first, I sent you the threatening courier to remind you to protect yourself. But I never would have guessed that Emma had deliberately leaked your information to Edward Ford.”
It was only then that he knew …… things had become irreversible.
So, he had to continue down that wrong path.
“It never occurred to me that I didn’t just get your mother killed, I almost got you killed too ……”
“Elena, I know it’s no use saying anything now, but I’m still sorry for what I owe you and I really can’t face you about Emma.”
“Mason Bush!” she said, breaking away from his hand and looking a little nervous, “I know what you’re trying to say, but it doesn’t matter.”
“Why?”
She intertwined her hands tightly, “I never cared about any of this from the beginning, and I don’t need your apologies.”
She simply wanted to come and see him, to talk to him about something.
“Elena ……”
Mason Bush’s eyes flashed with a flash of movement, again somewhat unable to contain his emotions.
Elena Bush just kind of laughed, “Emma Bush once said that my birth was a mistake and that I shouldn’t be in this world because I was a disgrace to Joanna Lake ……”
Mason Bush looked into her tear-filled eyes and with a jolt, immediately denied it.
“I’m fine.” She shook her head at him, “In fact, none of this has ever been on my mind.”
“But she can’t say that either.” Guilt was written all over Mason Bush’s face.
She looked extraordinarily relaxed and at ease, “Emma Bush is also right, I’m a disgrace to Joanna Lake in the eyes of everyone else, but I also know that I’m the child Joanna Lake fought so hard to have, or at least I’m Joanna Lake’s hope. Isn’t that right?”
She didn’t need to care about anyone looking at her differently, she just needed to know that …… even as Joanna Lake was dying she was worry about her daughter ……
Joanna Lake was great, thinking that she could keep her child alive and well when she had lost all hope, so great that …… she sacrificed herself to save her ……
Mason Bush looked at her in amazement, not expecting her to be so open-minded.
Elena Bush had a light smile on her lips, “That’s what I came here today to say to you.”
She had not been as overwhelmed as Emma Bush had said she was after learning about her birth, instead she had grown to admire her mother, the woman who had given her life.
“Mason Bush, I really thank you for giving her the hope that she could live at that time and for giving her one last period of peace. I think that even though she was hated by your wife, those days without Edward Ford must have been her happiest days.”
“Elena, you’re saying this to me …… me ……”
Mason Bush’s eyes were half red, “I can’t stand it and I don’t have the face ……”
It was clear that he was the one who pushed Joanna Lake to the last end of her life, yet she was still grateful to him.
The words she had said to Jacqueline also seemed to ring in his ears, making the feeling of indebtedness in his heart intensify.
She smiled softly, “Mason Bush, I’m letting it all go, from now on everything will start again …… so I won’t be seeing you again either, this is the last time …… ”
Mason Bush’s nose tingled.
Elena Bush still smiled, “All these twenty years, whether it’s hate or kindness, let’s write it all off.”
“Elena, I’m sorry …… ” This one, he said for Emma Bush.
The latter understood and rose to give him a bow, “It’s also a blessing that I can take the surname Bush, thanks ……”
The two men looked up at each other and met each other’s eyes, the meaning clear in each other’s eyes.
After that, never see each other again ……
