Sophia didn’t dare to push hard when she saw Harvey, afraid that she would hurt him, just like Elena Bush and Logan Brown did when they first hugged him.
“This, what should I do ……” Sophia looked to Elena Bush for help.
Elena Bush looked down with a smile and stepped forward to correct her position, “Kids are soft, so you have to hold his waist a little to make it work.”
“That’s right.” Sophia realised.
The little one seemed to be extra fond of her too, his little hands waving about.
“Ah!”
The soft little hand pressed against Sophia’s bulging belly, startling her into a gasp.
“Sophia, what’s wrong!”
Zach Stone, who had heard the movement, immediately jumped over and nervously pursued the question, pulling her up and down as he did so.
“What are you doing?” Sophia reached out and slapped him.
Zach Stone blinked in surprise, “Didn’t you, didn’t you scream?”
“That’s because Harvey he touched my stomach, did you see that?”
Elena Bush looked over in return, the corners of the little guy’s mouth lifting slightly in a very happy smile.
“Huh?”
“What’s wrong?” Sophia looked at her look, slightly puzzled.
“That’s the first time I’ve seen him smile.” Elena Bush moved a few moments closer, but saw that Harvey was indeed smiling and his little hands were moving around.
Sophia’s heart melted as she watched, “So good, so good ……”
“I suppose Harvey likes our daughter!” Zach Stone finally blurted out after staring at her for a while.
At that, the two little women said in unison, “What?”
Even though they didn’t want to admit it, the little one’s words and actions had made it abundantly clear.
Sophia laughed and joked, “Elena, we used to make a promise for the children marriage contract, do you remember?”
“Our promises are useless, we still have to wait for the child to decide for himself.” Elena Bush looked helpless.
Zach Stone immediately jumped in, “Exactly! Besides, you can’t just marry our daughter off to Logan Brown’s brat!”
“Brat?” Sophia narrowed her eyes, “Zach Stone, how dare you call my godson a brat?”
“No, no, no, that’s not what I meant.” Zach Stone hastily denied it.
What he was thinking was that with a personality as dull as Logan Brown’s, his son was bound to be the same. He couldn’t bear the thought of his little princess being with an iceberg!
Sophia was about to say something when Harvey burst into tears with a howl.
Elena Bush hurriedly took the baby and said, “He’s probably hungry, I’ll go feed him.”
As soon as the words left her mouth, Logan Brown approached with a bottle and the little one calmed down as soon as he had something to eat.
Sophia whispered a little curiously, “Doesn’t Harvey eat breast milk?”
“No.” Elena Bush shook her head, flashing guilt, “Back then Edward Ford wouldn’t let me feed on the grounds that I was too sick, and it hasn’t happened since.”
She’d tried that too, except Harvey didn’t seem to like it either, crying when he got close, and after that it had been formula feeding all the time.
Both Logan Brown and she had been worried about the little one being malnourished, but Jeff had checked that everything was fine and that he was healthier than the average child born under normal circumstances, and that had been the case ever since.
Sophia nodded, “This little one has a lot of personality, huh?”
“Is that a compliment, or a put-down?” Elena Bush cried, laughing.
“Of course it’s a compliment!” Sophia braced herself to answer with a straight face.
Elena Bush shook her head helplessly and in a few moments had put Harvey to sleep and Mia came up and took him and put him back in the nursery.
Sophia took this time to pull Elena Bush away for a whisper.
The two men were left to their own devices, looking at each other and finally shrugging their shoulders helplessly.
Zach Stone pushed him into the living room and said, “This is one of those times when we layabouts just have to go watch a movie, and you have no idea how much more pregnant Sophia can nag than my mother!”
“Elena doesn’t.” Logan Brown was quite satisfied.
Zach Stone gave him a sultry glare, “You, you’re not funny at all, I’m going to spill the beans to you and you’re going to compliment your wife, don’t be so irritating.”
The man spread his hands, “If I don’t compliment her, who will?”
“……”
The corners of Zach Stone’s mouth twitched, and when he thought about it, he couldn’t say anything, he just wordlessly picked up the remote and changed the channel.
On the other side of the room, Sophia tugged on Elena Bush and went on and on about Zach Stone’s faults.
Elena Bush, amused and helpless, couldn’t help but say, “It’s not as dramatic as you make it sound?”
“Why not?” Sophia glared, “You’re only saying that because you didn’t see it, if you did, you wouldn’t be saying that.”
“Okay, take it easy.” Elena Bush knew she was having mood swings because she was pregnant and went along with her words soothingly.
“By the way, how did that Edward Ford give up so willingly after that? Wasn’t he originally quite obsessive?” Sophia looked puzzled.
Elena Bush withdrew her hand and shook her head, “Maybe, something he had figured out.”
“How could he have figured it out in such a short time when he’d thought about it his whole life?”
“Who knows.” Elena Bush’s shoulders slumped and she lost her smile, “Isn’t it often the case that some things just don’t make sense after a lifetime of thinking about them and obsessing over them? It’s not really that they can’t figure it out, it’s just that they need a reason to give up.”
And after all these years, he had finally found a reason to give up and learn to make life easier for himself, so I didn’t know whether to be happy for him or relieved for myself.
Sophia stared at her for a moment, then couldn’t help but say, “Elena, I see you don’t actually hate him that much.”
“No hate.” She replied unapologetically, “Just a little bit of resentment.”
She was a human being, not a saint, and when she was in G, she had even wondered countless times why she had been treated so unfairly, and how she had almost lost her family just because she had a face similar to Joanna Lake’s. ……
But then she came to the realization that Edward Ford was just a poor man who never got the love of his life.
He’d spent his whole life in a corner, and when he came to his senses, decades had passed and he’d gained nothing but money and power ……
Sophia suddenly grinned up and rubbed her face affectionately as she hugged her, “Elena, sometimes you really make me admire you, if it were me, I would not be able to do so relieved ……”
