CHAPTER 7

Alma walked into the room. Elegant, bright. I wondered how she could fake her radiant smile. She couldn’t hide her fear. It shone through her eyes. I knew how to smell fear after living with it for weeks.
If circumstances had been different, Alma could easily pass for a noble. She didn’t look like most of their women did. She had seen many moons and revolutions, no doubt. She must have been fifty years of age- but she looked nothing like it. Her face didn’t sag, her legs were straight and firm, and her boobs, and butt didn’t need any adjusting to gain attention. Alma was sweet and kind, and so beautiful for her age. I knew that this was a problem. They would pick on her soon.
She walked into the room in her kitchen whites, holding a tray of lamb. She moved to set it on the table, and clear the clothes that had covered the table.
With precise and deliberate motion, Alma set the tray to a side of the table. Next she packed all the clothes on it and set it aside, dropping them on one of the sofas. All the while, her smile never left her face.
She must have seemed a little to confident to the others, but I saw the falter in her steps and the fear behind her pupils, as she finally spread out the plates and the roast lamb.
She curtsied slightly as the people in the room rushed to grab a slice of the roast lamb she had set on the table. She turned around to leave the room.
“Umm. Hey! You!” Ethan called.
My heart sank. I suspected what would happen next. The chatter in the room had increased, so Alma walked on, pretending not hear- or not hearing at all.
“You! Slave!” Ethan called, causing all the slaves in the room, except Alma, to look in his direction. “I’m talking to you! Cook!”
Alma paused for a moment, her back to Ethan. Then she turned around to face him. Her smile intact.
“Are you deaf?” The Alpha’s heir asked genuinely.
“No, your Lordship,” she replied, smiling.
“You didn’t hear that I called you?” Ethan inquired. His face, totally emotionless.
“I’m sorry, My Lord.”
She bowed slightly and getting up in one quick move. “I didn’t hear you call!” She explained.
“You have a name?” He asked.
“Alma Maris, You lordship,” she said curtsying. Her smile, still very much in place.
The air seemed to still for me. I feared for her. If I had the power to, I would have teleported her out of the room.
“Whatever your name is, anyway. Bring us some more food and wine. Why is it taking so much time?”
“I am really sorry, your Lordship. I will get to it at once,” she said, making to quickly leave the room.
I guessed she was okay. I breathed a sigh of relief. As she walked to the door, she passed Noah and he grabbed her hand. She froze in shock. I could tell them even if she tried hard not to show it, she jumped in fear within her.
“Hello! I’m Noah!” He said.
“Welcome to the house of the Alpha’s heir,” she croaked. Alma was having a hard time hiding her fear. Her voice faltered. This was no good as these people fed on fear.
“Sit with me for a moment,” Noah said. He could pass for a polite gentleman in that moment. The other slave that had been sucking him off had finished. He had his pants up now, and the wine glass remained in hand.
That fucking bastard! He was going to try to screw her against her wish. Noah had become a monster.
At this time, Ethan caught my face in his hand and turned it towards him. I could see why.
He was kissing the noble’s daughter that Gary had just fucked. And he wanted me to watch them.
