Alder’s POV
Everyone was at the training ground for the introduction of the trainees. Lance was talking to them and with his hands on his waist, and I could see she-wolves who were eyeing him. It always happens whenever he makes serious expressions. They never knew how much of an idiot he was when it was just us.
“Now, the last pack to arrive will have their penalty,” he said, and the representatives from the Blood Diamond Pack looked at each other. They came with only nine members when we were told that they were ten. Seven males and three females.
“Waiiiit!!!!” we heard a woman’s voice, so we looked at where it came from and saw her running. I looked at Lance, and I knew that he was pissed. He didn’t like late attendees. But the pissed face that I was looking at suddenly changed into something. His forehead was creased, and as the woman finally came closer, I heard her say, “Shit!”
Lance’s brows were arching while his eyes started to dilate. I think I know what was going on. “I am sorry for being late. I got lost along the way.” the woman said, trying to catch her breath.
“You, along with your pack members, will be running around the ground 100 times!!” Lance shouted, and the she-wolf’s face turned pale as she looked at her pack members, who were glaring at her.
“After your run, the nine members who were here before you will be doing an extra 50 laps for leaving you behind,” he added, and I chuckled,
“Why do I have a feeling that Lance is pissed and, at the same time, excited?” My mate, who was standing beside me, asked.”
“It’s not just your feelings, my love. He was indeed pissed and excited.”
“And it’s because of the latecomer?” she asked again, and I nodded, “Goddess! Mia is going to be excited,” she said.
“Sir, we just arrived and are tired from the long drive.” One of the she-wolves complained,
“Then you can start packing your things and go home.” Lance said, “I will just inform your Alpha to send someone else as your replacement.” The she-wolf’s eyes widened, and she looked down after she glared at the latecomer.
“Stupid, they were the reason why she was late, and she had the audacity to glare at her? I think I need to teach the bitch a lesson she will never forget.” I heard Clover say, so I looked at her, “What? I don’t like someone to hurt one of my girlfriends.” she added, raising a brow at me. I shook my head, thinking she was already planning on doing something with Mia and the she-wolves, who I was sure now was Lance’s mate. What a lucky bastard.
“Get on your asses and start what I asked you to do, NOW!!!” yelled Lance, and the trainees from the Blood Diamond Pack started to run along with one of the guards to guide them. While they were at it, Lance started the introduction, but I often saw him looking at his mate.
“Babe, do you think Lance is so cool trying to hold himself from coming to his mate?” I heard Mia ask Charles. My mate is really something. She passed the message instantly, and her best friend ran as fast as she could to see their new friend.
“I bet that he is going to savage her later,” Charles replied,
“That’s not going to happen,” Clover said, “I am going to ask her to sleep in the palace, and we will have our girls’ night,” she added, and I looked at my gamma after I heard Mia agree. I rolled my eyes when I realized that the three of us would have no companion in the cold night.
The other trainees were starting to do their first task, and that was to get to know everyone. Lance joined us in our seats while they were at it, and, of course, he was following his mate, running with his eyes. “I never thought that you would be able to control yourself,” I commented.
“You just don’t know how much I wanted to carry her and bring her to my bedroom,” he replied,
“Jackass!” Clover said as she glared at him, “Is that all men can think about?” she asked,
“Your Highness, I am only bringing her there so we will be able to talk,” he replied, scratching the back of his head while Mia and Charles were laughing.
“Talk my ass,” she replied, and I growled.
“I am the only one who could do anything to your ass, my love,” I said, and everyone laughed.
“Your mate was being bullied by her pack members,” Clover said afterward. Lance nodded his head,
“But they can’t put her down. I think I had a tough mate as well,” he replied proudly.
“You bet she is, and I am going to make her tougher.” My mate said, and Lance looked at her,
“Please, Your Highness. Don’t make her exactly like you.” Lance said with his head down,
“And what about my mate?” I asked, even though I already knew what.
“You know that I can’t handle her, even you can’t!” he exclaimed, and they all laughed,
“Is that how bad I am to you, huh?” Clover asked,
“You are not bad at all, my love. You are exactly what I wanted for a mate.” I said and gave her a wink, which she only rolled her eyes as she shook her head.
“Get up and go back to your trainees. Aren’t you ashamed that they were there sweating while you are here having a cold drink and talking nonsensical things?” Clover is really strict, and she really is a businesswoman.
Lance did as he was told and got back to the trainees, who were already panting and sweating. Charles followed him, and so I did. Clover and Mia stood and followed us with their gaze. I accidentally looked at Vlad, who was in front of the line. My face hardened when I found him looking at my mate while she was talking to Mia.
This is going to be very difficult. I think I am going to die out of jealousy. With the way he looked at Clover, I could tell that he wanted her. What is wrong with him? He already had his mate, which he already marked, and yet, wait- my eyes widened when I saw his neck where his mate’s mark should be. It wasn’t there.
He looked my way, and our eyes met. I am the king, but I can’t just ask or challenge him. No matter where anyone sees it, he will never win against me. What am I even thinking? I am his king, and I shouldn’t think about that.
“Alright, form your line,” Charles said, which took me out of my deep thoughts while Lance was busy looking at his mate. I’m sure that he wanted to go to her but he couldn’t. He was on duty, and she was one of the trainees. He didn’t want anyone to think that he was having favoritism, which must be really tough for him.
“Since today is the time to get to know each other, you will be dismissed early. But let me warn you, tomorrow will never be the same as today, so be ready and get prepared. Late is not tolerated. One pack member missing or late is punishable. So make sure that you have your teamwork.” Charles told them, and they all looked happy and relieved. It was only the beginning, and yet they were already starting to feel tired. Well, not all of them actually. Vlad was quiet the whole time.
“Blood Diamond Pack!” Lance shouted, here he goes.
“Yes, Sir.” They all answered.
“This is my only warning. If something like earlier happens again, you will be packing your things and going back to your pack, understood?”
“Sir, yes, Sir!” they all replied. He dismissed them and looked at his mate before he turned around. Let’s see what he was going to do to make her come to him. Well, I think he doesn’t need to do anything. I already saw Clover and Mia approaching her. When I looked at Lance, the worry was all over his face.
