Freya was shocked, “Huh?”
Orion explained, “It’s not a big deal, just a DUI. Everything’s fine. I’ll inform the family, I won’t go back home, and my mom won’t look for me, so I called you.”
He often didn’t go back for ten days or more.
His mother was used to it.
Freya asked, “Do you want me to tell your mom?”
“No need,” Orion said.
Freya asked, “Is it about today?”
Orion nodded.
Freya furrowed her brows, “Didn’t Elijah say you were strong? Why drown your sorrows in alcohol?”
“It’s not drowning sorrows, just having a little drink.”
Freya sighed.
Having a little drink now gets people to the police station.
“Do you need me to do anything?”
“No, okay, time’s up, I’ll hang up now.”
And he did.
“Haha…”
Kai was tickled by Sacha, rolling on the sofa laughing.
Freya put down her phone, rolled up her sleeves, and went to the kitchen.
She needed to prepare dinner.
Sacha offered to help.
Freya asked her to play with Kai instead.
Sacha saw Kai coming over and said, “I don’t want to play with the little brat.”
“The auntie will play with me.”
Kai held her hand.
Sacha asked, “Are you a little brat?”
Kai blinked, “What’s a little brat?”
Sacha sighed.
Freya chuckled.
“Why are you laughing, Mom?” Kai asked innocently.
“I’m laughing at your auntie for not being able to control you.”
Sacha picked up Kai and explained what a little brat meant to him.
Freya cooked rice and then opened the fridge.
There were plenty of ingredients at home.
She didn’t have many specialties.
She picked a few things and took out what she could make.
…
At the company.
Xander had just returned and was given a tough task.
He had only been back from the hospital for a couple of days.
Evan had dumped all the work on him.
His brows were so knitted they could make a knot.
“Evan, Mr. Silverton can exploit me, fine, but you, why are you exploiting me too? Do you think I’m easy to bully?”
Evan patted his shoulder, “Sacrifice yourself for your brother’s happiness.”
Xander sighed.
“I feel like you’re picking on me for not having a girlfriend.”
Evan looked at him seriously, “You don’t have to feel it, that’s exactly what I’m doing.”
“Get lost.”
Xander pushed him away.
Evan laughed, fixing his expression, “Sacha hasn’t been back long, I need to spend time with her. If I do that, I won’t have time to finish this work. You’re doing a good deed.”
Xander coldly snorted, “You’re a saint.”
Evan didn’t argue.
Xander glanced at the stack of files on the table, lamenting his unfortunate fate!
“I’ll treat you to dinner another day,” Evan said.
Xander rolled his eyes, “It better be a feast.”
“Whatever you want.”
Work matters were settled.
Evan went to find Elijah, asking when he would finish work.
Elijah was still busy, not believing Evan had finished his work.
Evan chuckled, “I wanted to have dinner with you, so I left all the work to Xander.”
“You know how to find a scapegoat.”
Xander had just returned.
And he was being exploited by Evan.
“Oh, and book a restaurant,” Elijah said.
Linda was sick in the hospital, Freya was at work, and Elowen had two children to take care of at home. They wouldn’t have time to cook.
“Okay.”
Evan took out his phone and called to book a restaurant.
Once Elijah finished his work, they left work.
Xander asked, “Are you leaving work together?”
“Mr. Silverton is treating us,” Evan said.
Xander questioned, “What about me?”
Evan added, “It’s a family dinner.”
Xander sighed.
