Orion’s body stiffened.
After a long silence, he softly said, “I’m fine.”
He opened the car door and sat inside. “You should go in.”
Freya walked up, her hand pressed against the car door. After much hesitation, she finally said, “Give up.”
Orion looked up at her, melancholic and desolate. “I have given up.”
Freya wanted to say a few comforting words to him.
But she couldn’t find the right words.
All she could say was, there are many good women in the world, you will meet someone better.
Someone better, yes.
But someone you like more? Is there?!
The hardest thing is to meet someone you truly like.
“I’m fine, don’t worry, I’m not that fragile,” Orion started the car.
“You should go inside.”
After saying that, he drove away.
Freya watched him leave.
For some reason, she felt a bit sorry for the current Orion.
Suddenly, there was a hand on her shoulder.
She turned around and saw Elijah.
“I think he’s pretty upset,” she said.
Elijah replied, “Don’t worry about other people’s business.”
With that, he hugged her and led her back inside.
Freya said, “After dinner, go check on him.”
Elijah responded, “Got it.”
Although Orion didn’t stay at the dinner table for long.
He still dampened everyone’s mood.
The atmosphere fell into an inexplicable silence.
The only sound was the faint clinking of cutlery against plates.
It was Evan who broke the silence, raising his glass to toast Tyler. “Thank you for coming all this way to help.”
Tyler replied, “It’s nothing. With the developed transportation nowadays, it’s convenient to come over.”
“Anyway, if Luna hadn’t found out that the dean was poisoned, this trouble wouldn’t have been resolved so quickly.”
Despite Evan’s hospitality, Tyler had difficulty refusing and the two ended up having a few drinks.
After dinner, everyone dispersed.
Freya sent Luna back to the car, and the family driver sent them back to the hotel.
Although Evan had driven over, he had been drinking. Sacha drove the car. “Sister-in-law, prepare a room for me. I’ll come back after I drop him off.”
Freya agreed.
Elijah also had to go out, probably to see Orion.
He wanted to drive himself.
Freya objected, “Let Eagle drive. I’m not going out tonight, so Eagle doesn’t have to follow me.”
Elijah agreed.
So Eagle drove.
Freya returned to the house and helped clean up the dishes.
Linda laughed and said, “You don’t need to do this. Your mom and I will finish up quickly.”
“Kai is watching TV, Morton is already asleep, and I have nothing to do. It’s quicker if I help!” Freya said.
As Linda carried the dishes to the dining room, suddenly, she collapsed.
Crash!
All the tableware shattered!
“Linda.” Elowen panicked.
Freya checked on her.
Linda was having difficulty breathing.
Freya immediately performed CPR and said calmly, “We need to take her to the hospital.”
Elowen asked, “There’s no one at home, what do we do?”
Freya looked at her, “Mom, don’t panic. I can drive, let’s get her into the car together. I’ll take Linda to the hospital, you stay at home.”
Elowen nodded.
They helped Linda into the car.
“Remember to call me to let me know you’re safe,” Elowen said, “You’re a doctor, you have to save her.”
Freya reassured her, “I know, don’t worry.”
…
At the hospital, Linda was rushed into the emergency room!
Freya waited anxiously outside.
Waiting was the longest part.
Fortunately, she was brought in on time, and Linda was going to be okay.
It was just respiratory distress caused by heartburn, leading to oxygen deprivation and unconsciousness.
Freya acted in time with emergency measures and brought her to the hospital, so she was saved. She might need to take medication afterwards and rest properly.
As long as Linda was okay, Freya could finally breathe a sigh of relief!
