After the call, he asked, “Can we meet?”
Freya sat up and replied, “Yes.”
“9 o’clock this morning, at the Hot Island Café.”
Freya immediately agreed, “Okay.”
She hung up the phone and got out of bed.
Elijah asked, “Whose call was it?”
“The Dean’s office, it seems they want to talk to me about a settlement, they said they want to drop the lawsuit. They were so aggressive yesterday, but today they want to reconcile. Elijah, do you think there might be some kind of conspiracy?” Freya said as she dressed.
Elijah lay on the bed, watching Freya dress, “Go ahead.”
Freya turned, “Huh? Have they suddenly had a change of heart?”
“Probably,” Elijah asked, “Are you happy?”
Freya nodded, “As long as they are willing to reason.”
She never meant to harm anyone.
From the beginning, she was only trying to save people.
And now she’s being sued!
Imagine how she must feel!
Now that things are looking up, she is naturally happy.
She dressed, quickly washed up, and headed out.
Elijah frowned, “Are you leaving without breakfast?”
Freya said, “I’m afraid of being late.”
“What time did you arrange to meet?”
“9 o’clock.”
Elijah was speechless.
“It’s not even 8 o’clock yet, you can have breakfast before leaving,” he suggested.
Freya was not allowed to leave until she finished her meal.
She arrived at the café five minutes past nine.
She was late.
The person she was meeting was already there.
She straightened her clothes and walked over.
The other party agreed to drop the lawsuit, but requested that she release someone.
Freya was stunned.
Release someone?
How was she supposed to do that?
After learning the whole story, she realized that it was the Dean’s son who had been arrested.
She couldn’t help but feel disappointed.
They still didn’t understand her!
She took a deep breath!
Even if they were not willing, it was best to resolve the situation as soon as possible.
She excused herself to the restroom and called Elijah.
As soon as the call connected, she immediately asked, “Did you set up the Dean’s son?”
Elijah said, “Not really, just framed him blatantly to let him experience what it’s like to be falsely accused.”
Freya tightly gripped her phone, “Thank you, for going to such trouble.”
“Are we not supposed to be polite as a couple?” Elijah teased.
Freya pursed her lips, “You’re busy too, worrying about my affairs.”
“Freya, from now on, you are the closest person to me.”
Elijah’s deep, husky voice resonated, gripping Freya’s heart tightly, “Yes, I know.”
“Are they cooperative?”
Freya nodded, “Yes, as long as I agree to release the person, they will drop the lawsuit.”
“Good.”
Freya hung up the phone and looked at her reflection in the mirror.
She smiled, adjusting her facial expression.
She washed her hands and went out.
Sitting back in her seat, “I will release the person, and within a day, I expect to receive news of the lawsuit being dropped.”
“Okay.”
With things settled, Freya left the café.
She got into the car and told Eagle, “To the hospital.”
Her phone rang at that moment.
It was Dr. Culkin calling.
She answered immediately.
There was urgency in his voice, “You need to come to the hospital right away.”
Freya asked, “What’s happened?”
“Yes, please hurry.”
Freya instructed Eagle to change course to the hospital.
Half an hour later, Freya arrived at the hospital.
She found Dr. Culkin and asked, “What’s going on?”
“Oh, you’re here,” Dr. Culkin excitedly grabbed her shoulder, “This is truly wonderful!”
