“Is this just an excuse for you? Will the patient definitely die if surgery isn’t performed?” The plaintiff’s lawyer questioned.
The defendant’s lawyer presented evidence and witnesses.
Dr. Culkin from the hospital was willing to testify for Freya.
“If surgery wasn’t performed at that time, the patient would have died!”
Evidence was provided, along with examination results, surgical procedures, and the patient’s medical records.
“You can have experts examine these. The patient’s condition was critical, and if surgery wasn’t done, the patient would have died by now.”
The son of the hospital director whispered something to the lawyer, who nodded in agreement.
The evidence and testimonies provided by the defendant’s side left them unable to respond directly.
“While these may be facts, was the surgery performed by Freya in compliance with regulations?”
The plaintiff insisted that Freya did not follow the proper procedures!
They ignored the results.
They focused solely on Freya.
The hospital director’s son was initially confused.
Not understanding the situation clearly, he blamed Freya for taking matters into her own hands and performing the surgery.
Now, after hearing the analysis from the defendant’s lawyer, he understood that his father would have died if surgery wasn’t done, rather than being in a coma now.
But he refused to drop the lawsuit!
He couldn’t swallow this.
He felt like he was being bullied.
He, the real victim, was beaten by Freya’s bodyguard!
Why?
He was determined to sue Freya!
Regardless of Freya’s motives, her actions were not in compliance with regulations.
The situation reached a stalemate.
The court announced a recess, with the trial scheduled to resume in a week!
Neo said, “No, I’ll have everyone in the hospital come and testify for you.”
Freya shook her head. “It’s pointless.”
They didn’t care whether she was saving lives or not.
They were adamant that she didn’t follow the rules!
On this point, she couldn’t argue.
“Let’s go.”
She got into the car.
“Madam, you go ahead.” The lawyer who came with her didn’t leave with her.
Freya nodded. “Alright.”
“I’ll find more evidence,” the lawyer said.
After Freya left, he stood at the courthouse entrance, not leaving.
A black luxury car pulled up.
Elijah stepped out and asked, “How did it go?”
“The other party clearly has a grudge against Madam. They keep insisting she didn’t follow the rules during the surgery. I can sense their anger. There might be something they’re unhappy about,” the lawyer said.
Elijah pondered for a moment and asked, “Do you think money can resolve this?”
The lawyer shook his head. “The other party doesn’t seem to be driven by money!”
“Alright.” Elijah narrowed his eyes. “When is the next court hearing?”
“In a week.”
Elijah nodded. “You go back first.”
Some people are just unreasonable.
So, sometimes, unreasonable means must be used to resolve things.
The hospital director’s son and the lawyer talked for a long time before parting ways.
He drove to the hospital to visit the director.
Then he went home.
On the way home, he got into a car accident.
He hit someone.
Xander never expected that right after he returned, Elijah would assign him such a tough task!
At the very least, shouldn’t he have been welcomed with good food and drinks?
Instead, he ended up in a car accident.
Luckily, the driver was quick to brake.
He just fell.
If the driver didn’t stop the car in time.
He might have lost his life!
He lay on the ground.
It was his first time setting up a fake accident, so he had to act convincingly.
Following what he saw on TV, he groaned, complaining about pain in different parts of his body. “My leg, I can’t stand up…”
The hospital director’s son got out of the car to check on him. Seeing that he wasn’t seriously injured, he offered, “I’ll give you two hundred bucks. Let’s settle this privately since you don’t seem to be hurt much.”
“Who says I’m not hurt? My leg hurts now, my back hurts, my eyes hurt, my mouth hurts, everything hurts, I can’t get up!” Xander stayed on the ground, unwilling to move.
The hospital director’s son frowned, displeased. “Are you faking this?”
