Looking at his son sitting at the desk, Elijah’s stern face softened slightly.
That kind of tenderness, perhaps only appeared in front of Freya and their child.
Elijah picked up his son.
Kai, in a childish voice, asked, “Daddy, where’s Mommy?”
Elijah’s expression briefly faltered, but quickly returned to normal.
“She’s at work, she’ll be back tonight.”
Kai tilted his head and rested it on Elijah’s shoulder. “Daddy, I want you and Mommy to take me out to play together.”
Elijah readily agreed, “Okay.”
He didn’t want to disappoint his son. As a father, he had spent too little time with his child.
Kai happily clapped his hands. His bright eyes resembled a crescent moon while he was smiling. There was a resemblance to Freya when she smiled. Facially, Kai took after Elijah more.
Elijah suddenly thought of Kai’s birth, and then of the difficulties Freya endured during the birth of their little treasure. He shouldn’t have made her sad. Even if he cared her too much, he shouldn’t have.
He thought that when Freya came back, he would apologize to her.
The door suddenly knocked.
He said, “Come in.”
Elowen pushed open the door.
“Kai should take a nap now.”
Elijah had something to do later, so he handed Kai over to Elowen.
Elowen hesitated for a moment and said, “Can I talk to you for a moment?”
Elijah glanced at Kai. “I’ll talk to you when I come back tonight.”

Evan walked out of the ward before Sacha woke up.
“Please take care of her.”
Freya nodded, “Don’t worry, I’ll stay by her side.”
Evan nodded briefly, standing at the door. He looked back, hesitated briefly, then walked quickly away.
Freya called after him, “I’ve booked two plane tickets, I’ll personally hand her over to her father, with someone she cares about by her side, maybe her mood will improve.”
Evan stopped in his tracks and made a soft sound of agreement, but he didn’t linger.
When Sacha woke up, Freya took her to Country M. Before boarding the plane, she sent a message to Neo Miller, “I won’t go to the hospital these days.”
There was no immediate reply.
Perhaps Neo was busy.
Freya hesitated for a moment, then sent a message to Elijah as well, “I’m taking Sacha to Country M.”
After sending the message, the boarding announcement sounded. She turned off her phone, hugged Sacha, and went to the entrance to check in.
“I could handle it myself, actually.”
Sacha sat by the window.
Freya sat next to her and covered her with a blanket. “I don’t feel at ease with you alone.”
Sacha leaned against the window, her eyes blankly staring outside.
Freya asked softly, “Are you thirsty?”
She shook her head.
After a while, she asked, “Does Evan know I’m leaving?”
Freya said, “I called him, he knows.”
“What did he say?” Sacha still wanted to know Evan’s attitude.
“He said he’ll come see you when you’re in a better mood.”
Freya told the truth.
Evan said he would come to see her, and that also showed his attitude.
“Evan, he’s a nice guy,” Freya said.
Sacha pursed her dry lips. “I hope he’s a little worse, I don’t want to hold him back.”
Freya didn’t know how to comfort her.
But she could be sure of one thing in her heart, Sacha truly loved Evan.
Because of love, she didn’t want Evan to see her broken appearance.
“I even feel disgusted with myself.” Sacha whispered.
