Chapter 572 I Feel Like Crying at This Moment

Book:You Are My Mr Right Published:2024-6-4

“You know what? I feel like crying at this moment.”
Freya had also experienced such feelings before and thus she understood his state of mind.
“Do you think I love her?” Evan asked in a hoarse voice.
He seemed to be asking Freya, but also asking himself.
“If only I could be a little better to her.” During the time he spent with Sacha, he was always busy with work, and they rarely had meals together.
Sacha would come to the company to see him. He always felt it wasn’t a good influence. So he wouldn’t let her come.
When Sacha wanted to plan their wedding, he would use work as an excuse to avoid it. Even when she became pregnant, he didn’t even want to give her a wedding, he just wanted her to silently stay by his side.
Now he regretted it.
He was too selfish.
He shouldn’t have done that!
How could he make it up to her now?
How could he mend the physical and emotional damage Sacha had suffered?
“I really want to say sorry to her, but I know that if she sees me, it might trigger her emotions. If she wants to leave, then let her go. Give her some time to calm down. Once those killers are found, I will personally avenge her and then go find her.” Evan raised his gaze and asked, “She won’t wake up for a while, right? I want to see her while she’s asleep.”
Freya turned her face and wiped away the tears that had fallen from the corner of her eyes. “Go inside, she won’t wake up for a few hours.”
Evan got up and walked over. When he grasped the doorknob, he paused. “I know that this situation isn’t what you imagined. It has already happened, and we should try to accept it.”
Freya lowered her head. “Thank you.”
Evan didn’t say anything more. He opened the door and walked inside.
Freya waited to the side. She sat on the bench, lost in thought.
“Freya.”
A gentle voice brought her wandering mind back to reality.
She turned around.
It was Elowen walking towards her.
Freya quickly forced a smile. “Mom, why are you here?”
Elowen said, “Elijah asked me to bring you some food.”
Elowen placed the food container to the side and asked, “I can tell something is wrong from your face. Did something happen?”
Freya shook her head. “Nothing.”
“If there’s nothing, then let’s eat.” Elowen opened the container and handed her the food. “Did you have a fight with Elijah?”
Elowen was just guessing because she could tell something was off from Freya’s expression.
Today, Elijah’s mood seemed off as well.
Freya held the food container in her hands, head lowered, and said, “No.”
But her reaction made Elowen more suspicious of what had happened between Freya and Elijah.
She consoled Freya softly, “No matter what Elijah said or did, I think he still cares about you. He’s worried that you’re not eating properly, that’s why he asked me to bring this.”
Freya felt a tightness in her heart, holding back her tears. “Mom, was I wrong?”
“What?” Elowen asked.
Freya bit her lip. “Shouldn’t I be working and taking care of the children at home instead? Elijah is so busy, he doesn’t have time for the family or the children. I should be a good wife, supporting his work and taking care of the family. You should be enjoying your retirement instead of taking care of the children. Am I being selfish, I gave birth to the babies but I have no time for them?”
“Because of this? I’m still young, I think I’ll be happy to see my two grandchildren every day, and with Linda helping me at home, I’m not tired.”
“And you know, I support your work. Is it because Elijah is upset that you can’t take care of the children?” Elowen asked.
Freya was silent, which meant yes.
Women are equal to men.
Why do women have to stay at home while men do their jobs?
Yeah, Freya admitted that she didn’t make as much money as Elijah did. But her work was not without meaning.
Shouldn’t they support each other while they had someone to take care of their children?
“In some ways, you should be home…”
Freya looked up, surprised by the change of her mother’s attitude.
Elowen patted her hand and said, “Easy, just hear me out.”
