Sacha leaned forward, feeling a sense of recklessness in her actions, and apologized first, “Sorry, I was looking for…”
Her gaze landed on Freya.
Freya caught her eye and glanced at the time, saying, “Wait for me outside for ten minutes.”
Sacha nodded, closed the door, and stood waiting by the doorway.
After a while, people started to come out of the meeting room one by one.
Freya walked out last, carrying a stack of documents in her arms.
“Do you need something from me?” Freya asked.
Sacha nodded.
Freya instructed her to place the documents in the office.
Sacha waited for her at the door.
As Freya emerged, Sacha took a few steps forward to meet her and said with a smile, “Evan called me today and asked me to choose a date. I’m planning to make a trip to Country M to inform my father.”
Freya commented, “That’s the right thing to do.”
After all, marriage is a significant event in one’s life, and it’s important to consult with the family.
“Are you so busy with work? It’s quite late, still in a meeting. You must be hungry. Let’s go for dinner, it’s on me.”
Freya had originally intended to head back, but she couldn’t disappoint Sacha’s invitation. “Alright.”
“I know of a restaurant nearby that serves delicious sweet and sour pork. Let’s go there!” Freya asked her, “Do you have a sweet tooth?”
“Someone says a sour tooth indicates a son while a sweet tooth indicates a daughter. I like sweet things. It’d be a shame if I gave birth to a child without any proper gender,” Sacha joked.
“Don’t be ridiculous!” Freya retorted.
Sacha laughed.
She was just playing around.
She hoped to give birth to a healthy and lovely baby!
“If I have a daughter, can she marry your son?” Sacha quipped.
Freya gave her a look. “But you’re already my niece.”
Sacha shrugged. “No blood ties anyway.”
Freya mused, “I want my child to have a niece.”
Primarily, Freya was considering Elijah.
He had no more family.
Sacha had a good personality, and having her as a sister would be great. Her son would also have a niece, making this household feel more like a family.
“Alright, I’ll be the auntie. If I have a daughter, she’ll be spoiled by the two nephews. No, have a few more sons so that my daughter will have more people to love her.”
Freya paused as Sacha’s suggestion sunk in.
“You should have more sons,” Freya continued. “I also want a daughter.”
“If you like daughters, then go ahead and have one,” Sacha linked arms with her. “You’re still so young.”
Freya forced a smile. She didn’t plan to have any more children. For one, her health wouldn’t allow it, and secondly, she wanted to focus on her work without letting down Wesley Donaldson’s trust. Moreover, she still held onto some shadows in her heart, so she intentionally changed the subject, “Regarding the restaurant you mentioned, where is it? We haven’t arrived yet, have we?”
Pointing across the street, Sacha was about to speak when a car pulled up, blocking her view.
The car door slid open, and six or seven people emerged, surrounding the two women.
Freya tensed up, immediately shielding Sacha behind her, as she was still pregnant.
Staring at them alertly, she demanded, “Who are you people?”
“Which one of you is Freya?” asked the tall, slender man with a long scar on his face, looking fierce and menacing.
Before Freya could respond, Sacha grabbed her arm, signaling her not to speak. It was evident these people were here for her.
“What do you want with Freya?” Sacha raised her chin slightly, pretending to be calm. “You better leave now, or I’ll call for help.”
The tall, thin man narrowed his eyes. “Are you Freya?”
“Well, yes, what’s the matter?” Freya began, but they rushed forward to grab Sacha.
Freya urgently spoke up, “I am Freya. Let her go.”
“We’re here to take her. We’re not letting her go!”
The tall man forcefully pulled Freya’s hand away.
“Help, Help!” Sacha was petrified.
Freya told the tall man, “I am Freya.”
“You’re Freya?” the man questioned.
He looked from Freya to the already captured Sacha, unable to be sure. He turned to his men and ordered, “Take them both.”
Just as he was about to grab Freya, a dark figure rushed over and swiftly kicked him out.
