Freya furrowed her brows, “Who are you?”
Her tone was stern.
“I’m from Iris Vision,” came the reply.
“Where exactly am I?”
An unfamiliar phone call, an unknown address. She wasn’t sure if she should go there recklessly.
“Let me go…” came a voice from the other end of the phone, sounding somewhat like Orion?
Freya furrowed her brows.
The voice on the other end grew noisy.
Whether it was due to a bad signal or something else, the conversation was intermittent. She couldn’t make out anything clearly, so she hung up the phone.
Freya pushed open the car door and got out.
Elijah had returned by this time.
Freya stood waiting for him to enter the house together.
“Just got back?” Elijah asked as he approached.
Freya nodded.
Elijah raised his arm and gently embraced her.
Just as they were about to enter the house, her phone rang again.
Freya furrowed her brow and answered.
Soon, a voice came through, “Freya, help…”
Freya, confused, asked, “Orion?”
“Yes, it’s me… help, come quickly…”
“Alright…”
Then there was a beep.
“What’s wrong?” Elijah asked.
“Seems like Orion,” she replied.
“Seems like?” Elijah didn’t understand.
Freya nodded, “I’m not sure, but it seems like him.”
“Why is he calling you?” Elijah asked with a furrowed brow.
Orion had insisted on drinking together just yesterday. And today he was harassing Freya with phone calls.
What exactly did he want?
Freya didn’t know if Orion’s behavior was related to Luna’s mood. From the sounds on the other end, it seemed like something had happened to him.
She looked up, “Will you come with me? Otherwise, I won’t be at ease.”
Elijah pursed his lips and pondered for a moment, “What could possibly be wrong with him? Let’s just forget about it.”
He held her close, “Let’s go home.”
“Or let’s go and see,” Freya said.
Elijah looked at her for two seconds, then finally agreed, “Fine.”
Once in the car, he asked, “Do you know the address?”
Freya thought for a moment and answered, “I think it’s called Iris Vision?”
Elijah didn’t know the place either, so he opened the navigation system and found the location.
It took them half an hour to arrive.
There were a few people at the entrance, and Orion was being held by someone.
He had a few injuries on his face. Clearly, he had been beaten.
Freya and Elijah got out of the car.
Seeing them approach, Orion smirked, “Hey!”
Elijah’s expression turned cold, “What’s going on?”
Orion chuckled, “Actually, it’s nothing.”
Now he seemed sober.
“Who are you to him?” a bald man stepped forward and asked.
“I can take responsibility for him. Tell me, what did he do wrong and how can we free him?” Elijah got straight to the point.
Upon hearing that someone would foot the bill, the bald man immediately took out a dirty, spit-covered painting, saying, “He came to see the art exhibition, but ended up vomiting all over our painting. He must compensate me.”
“How much?”
“Two hundred thousand.” The bald man said.
“This painting is worth two hundred thousand? I could paint something better with my foot.” Orion struggled, but couldn’t break free. “Let go of me.”
“What’s the matter, haven’t you learned your lesson?” the bald man warned Orion, staring at him. “You’d better behave yourself.”
Freya also told Orion not to speak.
But Orion insisted, “I’m just telling the truth. It’s a lousy painting. If it’s worth two hundred thousand, why don’t you go rob a bank?”
Elijah glanced at him coldly.
Orion also knew that he had caused trouble, so he pursed his lips and stopped talking.
The painting was in the art category, and it couldn’t be priced like other things.
Elijah didn’t want to argue with such a person, so he wrote a check for two hundred thousand.
Freya whispered to Elijah, “This isn’t a painting by a famous artist.”
Even if it’s art, it still relies on the fame effect.
The one before them was an unrecognized painting, not done by a famous person.
It was hard to associate it with art.
Without circulation in the world, it couldn’t generate value.
Even if Elijah was rich, he shouldn’t squander it like this.
Elijah gave her a reassuring look, “I will handle it.”
Freya trusted that he would handle it well and remained silent.
“Let him go,” Elijah said.
The bald man took the money and instructed his subordinate to release Orion.
Orion stumbled over, his face sporting injuries.
Freya asked, “What happened to you?”
