The message read, “The banners on your wedding with Orion was your idea. I got the evidence.”
Orion looked at the message Evan sent and said, “That was our wedding, how could she possibly do such a thing at her own wedding?”
Evan didn’t explain anything either. They were waiting for the results.
Haley finished bathing and sat in front of the vanity, applying expensive skincare products. She was in a good mood, looking vibrant. With Luna out of the way and Orion’s affection towards her, she considered herself successful. She just needed a little more time to make Orion completely forget about Luna and win his heart. In this “battle,” she had achieved a comprehensive victory. Orion was her prize. From now on, this man would belong to her alone.
Her phone on the vanity suddenly rang. She picked it up and saw the message, her face instantly changing. She immediately thought of the person she bribed. No one else knew except for that person. Could it be that they wanted to continue extorting money?
Haley stared at her phone, feeling a bit anxious. But she hadn’t reached the point of losing her composure yet. She exerted great effort to control her emotions and remain calm. As long as they wanted money, they would surely send another message. Replying now would make her appear guilty.
On the other side, Orion’s tone was mocking. “See? You’re underestimating Haley. She wouldn’t do something like this.”
Evan stared at him and asked, “Are you falling in love with Haley?”
“No,” Orion quickly explained. “I feel guilty towards her for taking her innocence before the wedding and causing her to have a miscarriage afterwards. I want to make it up to her, but it’s not love.”
“How do you plan to make it up? With your feelings?” Evan had a knowing expression. “Facing such a lovely girl, it’s normal for you to be moved.”
“Don’t go off topic. I’m telling you, I don’t have feelings for her.” Orion snapped.
Evan didn’t argue with him. “If you say you don’t, then you don’t.”
In the midst of their conversation, Evan sent another message. “If you don’t respond to me, I’ll hand over the evidence to Orion.”
Orion felt that Evan was just being bored.
“Don’t you give up?” he mocked.
Evan replied, “It’s not that I don’t give up, but rather, the real show is just beginning. Why are you in such a hurry?”
Orion plopped down on the sofa, sneering. “You’re busy doing errands for Elijah every day, relying on sending text messages?”
Evan didn’t argue with him either. Soon, they would find out if Haley Holt was truly innocent.
Later, Evan’s phone vibrated. He looked down and indeed, a message had arrived. He opened it.
“Who are you?” the message read.
After reading it, Evan replied, “Don’t ask who I am. Give me 500, 000, or else I’ll hand over the evidence to Orion.”
After sending the message, Evan handed the phone to Orion.
“Wait for her response. If she didn’t do it, she won’t be afraid of this threat. If she did, she’ll be willing to pay to make it go away. After all, 500, 000 is a small sum for your family or the Holt family.”
Orion still believed in Haley’s character. “It definitely wasn’t her. She absolutely won’t reply to the message.”
However, as soon as he finished speaking, the phone rang. Orion stiffened immediately. He didn’t even dare to look down. Evan chuckled.
Orion glared at him. “Why are you laughing?”
“I’m laughing at you, coward. If you have the guts, look at what the message says,” Evan said.
Orion clenched his fist and took a deep breath. He lowered his head and saw the message on the screen. Then, he froze.
Evan wasn’t one to mind his own business and asked, “What does the message say?”
Orion’s face turned dark.
“How could she do something like this?”
Evan walked over and glanced at the phone screen.
It displayed, “I promise you, but you must destroy the evidence in your hands.”
Haley Holt, who was basking in the joy of victory, had no idea that she was walking into someone’s trap. Evan never had any evidence. It was just Freya’s words. She said that it was Haley Holt who did the banner incident. Of course, Evan didn’t hear Freya say it herself, he heard it from Elijah. This idea came from Elijah.
“She can use her own wedding to frame Luna. Will she also use her own child to make you completely give up on Luna?” Evan’s question was sharp and realistic.
Orion stared at the phone screen for a long time as if he hadn’t heard Evan’s words. Actually, he did hear them. It was just that he was shocked and having a hard time accepting reality. The Haley he knew was innocent, kind, and considerate… But in reality, she was someone who would do anything to achieve her goals!?
“How can someone be so bad.”
Deception, concealment, conspiracy, traps, framing…
“You’re not a naive young man who just arrived in the business world. Haven’t you gotten used to the deception in the business world? This little matter is affecting you?” Evan questioned him.
“I just can’t understand how a young girl can be so scheming, so… malicious.” Orion was hurt by Haley. He had believed in her.
“Since the banner incident was done by her, then it’s highly likely that Luna’s incident is also related to her,” Evan reminded him. “With the two families’ influence, getting rid of one person is not challenging.”
Orion’s eyes turned red, and he stared at Evan fiercely. “Are you saying Luna has been killed?” Evan felt a chill from Orion’s gaze. He waved his hand. “I’m just guessing, guessing. Don’t look at me like that, I’m scared…”
“You have no evidence, so don’t spout nonsense!” Orion shouted.
Evan blinked. Was he going crazy?
Shouting like this?!
“Luna will be fine.” Orion was angry because Evan suggested that Luna might have been… killed.
He didn’t want to believe such a outcome.
Evan didn’t continue to provoke him, but instead tried to calm him down. “I said the wrong thing. Maybe Luna is being held captive, and the breakthrough is still with Haley, so…”
Before Evan could finish his sentence, Orion had already run out.
“Hey!” He wanted to stop Evan. But Orion ran too fast.
“Mr Silverton.” Evan was worried that Orion would do something irreparable in his impulsiveness.
Elijah didn’t care about this matter at all but he cared about Freya.
“Let him go.” Said Elijah.
“He’s so impulsive, it will undoubtedly alert them.” Evan said.
“Perhaps, it’s luring the enemy out. It might not be a bad thing. Don’t bother me with unnecessary matters.” After saying that, Elijah grabbed his coat and left. He had wanted to leave a long time ago. He needed to go back and reunite with Freya. There was no time to waste here.
Upon arriving at the hotel, he walked to Freya’s room and knocked on the door. But there was no response. He knocked again, still no response.
Elijah went to the front desk and asked, “Is the person in room 508 not in the room?”
The front desk answered, “Not here.”
Elijah frowned.
“Are the people in rooms 506 and 507 there?”
“They’re not here.” the front desk replied.
At that moment, the waiter who had seen Freya faint got off work, and happened to hear Elijah’s words. He tried to ask, “Are you looking for the pregnant lady staying in room 508?”
Elijah said, “Yes.”
“She fainted, and the two foreigners who were with her took her to the hospital.” The waiter said.
Elijah was worried.
“Which hospital was she taken to?”
“I don’t know.” The waiter shook his head.
Elijah hurriedly walked out, while calling Evan, “Find out which hospital Freya was taken to!”
