Chapter 376 Ronan’s Grudge

Book:You Are My Mr Right Published:2024-6-4

Ronan took a step back, sizing up the person in front of him. It wasn’t about how formidable the newcomer was. It was that he didn’t have any allies. He couldn’t understand why Evan would show up, of all people. And what a coincidence it was for him to appear in this remote location. Just as he was trying to figure it out, he saw Freya sitting in the car. She still had her phone in her hand. Could it be that she made the call?
“Freya, did you call Evan?” asked Ronan. He didn’t quite believe it was her. She shouldn’t do something like this.
Freya didn’t deny it. When she saw Ronan, she began to worry, not about Elijah, but about Ronan. Ronan hadn’t gained any advantage when dealing with Elijah. She didn’t want him to get hurt. Coincidentally, Elijah’s phone was left in the car, so she used it to call Evan. She called Evan not to help Elijah bully Ronan, but to ask him to come and take Ronan away, to prevent them from getting into a real fight.
Freya met Ronan’s gaze directly and replied, “I’m doing this for your own good.”
Ronan furrowed his brows. “I don’t feel like you’re being good to me. I actually feel like you and Elijah are teaming up to bully me.”
Freya stared at him for a few seconds and then let go, saying, “If you want to fight, go ahead.”
She had originally meant well, but since he didn’t appreciate it, there was no need for her to waste her breath.
However, Ronan hesitated. Was he supposed to fight two against one? Did he stand a chance? Clearly not. Wasn’t this just setting him up? He believed that he had treated Freya well. He had always seen her as a friend and wanted to pursue her. But she seemed to be so heartless towards him.
“Fine, I’ll remember this.” He turned around and walked briskly towards the car. At this moment, there was some resentment towards Freya’s heartlessness towards him in his heart. No matter how much he had done for her, she seemed to ignore it all.
Freya didn’t notice Ronan’s strange behavior. She didn’t have the time to pay attention to it right now. Her mind was occupied by Luna’s situation. Coupled with her own current condition, she didn’t have the energy to focus on much else. However, it was because of her negligence this time that Ronan grew to hate her, leading him to do that thing to get back at her and Elijah.

Freya stood at the door, feeling a mix of emotions in her heart.
“I’ll go in with you.” Elijah said.
Freya nodded softly, her voice slightly hoarse. She felt ashamed to face her own mother and her child.
The door opened. In the living room, Elowen was trying to feed Kai, but he insisted on holding the spoon himself and eating. Elowen was coaxing him, “Kai, be good, let me feed you…”
“Daddy.” Kai spotted the open door first. He ran over with his little legs, his pronunciation of “daddy” clear, no longer the previous “Papa”.
Elowen held the bowl and looked towards the door. When she saw the person standing next to Elijah, she froze, and the bowl slipped from her hand. It made a loud crash as it fell to the ground. The sound of the broken bowl brought her back to her senses.
“Freya, are you… Freya?” Her voice trembled, unable to believe it, yet hoping that what she was seeing was real.
Freya walked over and embraced her. “Mom.”
Elowen’s eyes turned red instantly, and she slapped Freya on the back. “What’s wrong with you? You’re supposed to be…”
“I’m sorry.”

“How could you be so willful? If you don’t want your mother, fine. But to abandon your own child, especially when you’re pregnant, causing Elijah and me to be sad every day. You’ve really grown up, showing off your skills…”
Elowen couldn’t contain her anger when she found out that her daughter had faked her death. She went on and on, not stopping her scolding. Freya didn’t dare to retort. Elijah held his son in his arms, listening from the side. There were some things he didn’t dare say, but that didn’t mean he didn’t agree. Elowen’s words should make Freya have a little more self-awareness. She shouldn’t be so willful in the future. Even if she had her reasons, she shouldn’t have faked her death.
“You’re pregnant, what if something happens to the child? How will you explain it to Elijah? You’re not a child anymore, you’re an adult, about to be a mother of two. You need to be responsible in your actions, you can’t act recklessly.” Elowen lectured her. “Look at him, your son, he’s grown so big now, and he doesn’t even recognize you anymore. Do you see how much of a failure you’ve been as a mother?”
Kai, confused, looked at them with his big round eyes, shining and full of life. Now, Elijah was the one he felt closest to, even though Elowen spent the most time with him. But he was bonded with Elijah.
“Do you think you’ve done anything wrong?” asked Elowen.
Freya always knew she had done wrong and she humbly accepted every word Elowen said. But it was Elijah’s smug expression that made her extremely irritated. He was the instigator, yet he was now enjoying her misery.
“I have done wrong,” she admitted, wanting Elowen to finish the scolding as soon as possible. However, Elowen didn’t stop or give up because of her admission, instead she continued, “Freya, in the future, think with your brain before acting, consider if what you’re doing is right, if you should do it. Don’t just act based on your own preferences…”
At that moment, Freya’s phone suddenly rang. Freya felt it was a timely call and immediately answered it.
It was her boss from Mede calling.
“Dr Jane, come back to the hotel immediately.”
Freya replied, “Okay.” After hanging up the phone, she looked at her mother, “Mom, I have something to do.”
Elowen softened her tone, “You just arrived home and now you’re leaving again. Your son already sees you as a stranger. Are you feeling accomplished?”
Freya was already feeling down, and Elowen’s words just stabbed at her heart. Her eyes instantly turned red. Elowen realized she had gone too far, and picked up Kai, “He needs a bath. I’ll take care of him. You two can do whatever you need to do. I’ll take care of him.”
The last sentence was directed at Freya. Freya knew that Elowen loved her deeply and was holding her accountable. With Elowen taking care of Kai, Freya felt reassured. Elijah drove her back to the hotel. As they got into the car, she asked, “You’re enjoying my scolding, aren’t you?”
Elijah calmly started the car and asked, “Am I?”
Freya needed his help with Luna’s situation, otherwise she wouldn’t bother arguing with him.
“Help me find Luna’s whereabouts.”
Elijah lightly acknowledged.
“Thank you.” Said Freya.
Elijah turned to look at her, with many emotions in his eyes, but in the end, he remained silent and drove away.

Upon arriving at the hotel, Freya got out of the car, “I’ll go back to the hotel first. You go find out about Luna.”
Elijah lightly acknowledged. Freya couldn’t rest easy until Luna’s situation was resolved. In order for her to have peace of mind during her pregnancy, he had to find Luna as soon as possible.
“Call me if you need anything.” Said Elijah.
Freya nodded, then turned and walked into the hotel.
Elijah stopped her, “No more running away.”
If she ran away again, he wouldn’t go easy on her next time.
“I know.”
Back in the hotel room, Freya knocked on her boss’s door.
“Come in.”
Hearing the voice, Freya pushed open the door. Her boss had an unhappy expression, and as soon as she entered, she coldly said, “Come here.”
