“What’s wrong?” asked Zane.
“She wouldn’t run away, but she’s gone. Does this mean that she might have been taken or harmed? Is it possible that the Russo family, especially Haley, is involved?” Freya seriously suspected that Luna’s disappearance had something to do with the Russo and the Holt families.
Besides, Haley Holt was not a good person.
What if Luna really got caught or harmed? She was all alone. Freya couldn’t bear to think about it. Her heart felt heavy. What should they do?
Elijah’s thoughts aligned with Freya’s. A person as big as Luna couldn’t just vanish without a trace. It could only mean that she was harmed, or even if she wasn’t, she might be held captive somewhere. He gently stroked Freya’s back, “Don’t worry, I’ll help you find her.”
Freya looked up at him. Although she didn’t speak the words, her eyes clearly asked, ‘Why didn’t you care about this earlier?’
But she also knew deep down that Elijah had no obligation to do so. She shouldn’t blame him. It was just that whenever she thought about Luna being in danger, she couldn’t help but feel anxious. That was why she couldn’t stay calm.
Zane also noticed Freya’s questioning gaze and took the opportunity to complain, “I went to see Mr Silverton, but he wouldn’t see me.”
At this moment, he no longer saw Elijah as his brother-in-law. He directly referred to him as Mr Silverton. Zane had a strong opinion of him.
As Elijah wanted to explain, Freya said, “I know, it’s not your fault.” She only blamed herself for leaving because of emotional matters. If she had stayed, Luna could still have come to her. The situation wasn’t as terrible as it seemed. However, Freya’s mind was in turmoil right now. She needed to calm down.
“Zane, stop drinking. Pull yourself together. I might need you to do something later,” Freya said.
Zane nodded. “Okay.”

On their way back, Freya couldn’t calm her emotions. She told Elijah, “You know what? The long scroll at Orion and Haley’s wedding was hung by Haley herself.” She paused, her tone mocking. “She’s the bride, no one would suspect her, because who would ruin their own wedding? Luna, Orion’s ex-girlfriend, became the prime suspect because of that.”
Even without evidence, People would think Luna did it out of jealousy, intentionally sabotaging their wedding.
“Don’t dwell on it,” Elijah freed one hand and held hers, rubbing his thumb on the back of her hand. “Haley Holt should be the breakthrough.”
Elijah’s words were like a wake-up call.
Freya said, “It must be her.” She seemed to have figured it out. “Haley must have been jealous of Luna and Orion’s relationship, so she framed Luna, made her miscarry? Made Orion misunderstand Luna? And then harmed Luna?”
It wasn’t that Freya thought of Haley as too evil. It was just that she had seen Haley do bad things. So, she classified her as one of the bad guys. The more she thought about it, the more it made sense to her.
Elijah felt a headache coming on, and he spoke with seriousness, “Freya, you’re pregnant. Can you please stop thinking so much?”
Freya’s eyes turned slightly red. “Luna is my best friend.”
How could she just ignore it?
“This matter is not difficult, leave it to me.” Elijah said.
Freya looked at him, pursing her lips. “Thank you.”
Elijah sighed internally, not emphasizing anymore that she didn’t need to be polite with him. It seemed like Freya wasn’t fully invested in the role of his wife. Elijah thought he should deepen her sense of belonging.
Maybe it was because Freya was restless, the baby in her belly was moving vigorously. She leaned back in her seat, placing her hand on her belly. Elijah thought she might be uncomfortable, so he worriedly asked, “What’s wrong?”
Freya took his hand and placed it on her belly. Perhaps the baby knew that its father was there, it kicked forcefully, right in the palm of Elijah’s hand.
Elijah’s nerves tightened. It wasn’t his first time being a father but feeling the baby’s movements like this was a first. He felt excited inside and instinctively pulled the car over, wanting to carefully feel it.
Suddenly, a car darted out from behind and blocked their path. Elijah had to brake in time. Freya almost hit the windshield.
“Are you okay?” Elijah immediately looked at her.
Freya was genuinely scared. After a moment, she said, “I’m fine.”
At that moment, someone got out of the car opposite them. Elijah looked up and his face immediately darkened.
