the Fords
Edward Ford left KL in a huff and had his driver drive the car back to the Fords, where no one dared say a word as the solemn atmosphere was felt throughout the large Fords.
Edward Ford sensed something was wrong as soon as he stepped into the main house and grabbed one of the servants with his hand, “What’s going on? What’s going on in the house?”
The servant almost fell to his knees at the sudden grab, “Mr Ford ……”
“What’s going on, speak!”
“I ……”
The servant’s scalp tingled and he stiffened, not daring to answer for fear of contradicting him and displeasing him.
Edward Ford looked at his stammering look and was furious, kicking him away, “Go! Get me the butler, I want to know what I can’t even ask someone in this big the Fords!”
“Yes!”
The servant was so relieved that he ran straight out and yelled at the butler.
Edward Ford sat down on the sofa with a start, and the other servants, who were trembling slightly, came forward and made him tea.
