Jacob’s eyebrows unconsciously frowned slightly, his body had a momentary stiffness, before Edward Ford noticed quickly concealed the past, his voice is the usual detached, “Sorry, Mr. Ford if you are free, you can make an appointment with Jacob another time for a chat, just now Jacob has official business in the body, it is really not good ……”
“Official business?”
Edward Ford chuckled and said kindly, “The man you want to see today has just been chased away from the door by me, so I’m afraid you’ll need to make another appointment only if you want to see me.”
Jacob lifted his breath, all alert, “Mr Ford is prepared for this?”
“It’s not my fault, it’s the fact that Mr Jacob’s price has gone up now, so appointments are naturally harder to come by, and I had no choice but to do so.” The latter replied calmly.
“Then Mr Ford has gone to such great lengths to see me today, I suppose he must already have something to say in mind?”
Edward Ford laughed out loud when he heard his words, “Mr. Jacob is smart, as expected of someone I’ve taken a fancy to, I have a good eye.”
“Mr Ford, just call me Jacob.” Jacob’s posture was unassuming, which was endearing in a few ways.
Edward Ford’s face remained unchanged as he looked him up and down, “Jacob, since we all understand each other, Then I’ll get right to it”
Jacob nodded, “ok.”
Edward Ford’s eyes narrowed, then his cold voice slowly spilled out, “You seem to have been by Logan Brown’s side from the start, but have you ever thought …… about going out on your own and making a name for yourself? ”
Jacob’s heart fluttered and he immediately said, “Jacob doesn’t dare to think about it!”
“Why? You have the capital, why must you stay by Logan Brown’s side.”
He couldn’t understand, Logan Brown was just a yellow kid, the reason why they trusted each other was just the word “trust”, but they were young, they didn’t understand the coldness and cruelty of the world after all!
Jacob was silent for a moment, not answering.

A sound of an object falling into the coffee cup was somewhat like water dropping in, he looked up at him, the smile at the bottom of his eyes was hidden, “Sometimes you have to learn to be flexible, so you can make the coffee in your hand better.”
Jacob stared blankly at his coffee for a long time.
Edward Ford smiled and got up, his big hand then fell on his shoulder and patted it heavily, “Jacob, I know you know what I mean, if you want to be more successful, I’ll help you unconditionally.”
He could give him everything he wanted, what about the second chair of KL? He could give him a KL!
Jacob tightened his thin lips, “Is Mr Ford asking me to betray Brown sir?”
“No.”
Edward Ford shook his head, “I am giving you a chance, and as to whether or not that chance is to be taken, the choice is all yours, and not half directly related to me …….”
For a moment, Jacob was lost in thought.
Edward Ford withdrew his hand and stopped looking at him, only dropping a faint, “Jacob, I’ll be waiting to hear from you any time, only, I hope that when you contact me again, it will be good news that I’m willing to hear.”
Jacob gave a fake easy smile, “Take care Mr. Ford.”
Edward Ford returned the smile and took off in stride.
The distant figure soon disappeared into the café, Jacob looked down at the coffee on the table and picked up his spoon and stirred it slightly before slowly taking a sip.
The bitterness of the coffee had a touch of sweetness to it, which would have been a good taste on a regular basis, but ……
A cold light under the eyes passed quickly, too fast to be caught.
The hint of sweetness, but it spoils the taste of what coffee should be!
Jacob put the coffee back on the coaster got up and shook his head and left with a smile ……
When he got back to the villa, Jacob stopped a package at the doorman’s. He looked down at the box, wrapped in a black bag and taped tightly, and said, “What’s this?”
The doorman shook his head, “I don’t know, it was delivered before Mr Jacob got back and the courier had just left, said it was for Mrs Brown.”
Jacob stared at it closely for a moment, always feeling a little worried, “Go and get me a pair of scissors.”
“Cut …… scissors?” The doorman was a little worried, “It’s Mrs Brown’s package, if Mr Jacob must see it, I’m afraid ……”
Jacob looked up, a flash of coldness, “Let you go you go!”
The doorman gave a jolt and, without further hesitation at that moment, busily turned back to the duty room and got a pair of scissors out.

Jacob’s gaze was like a torch, landing dead on the parcel, a dead black cat was in the parcel, its body covered in signs of having been brutally treated.

Jacob quickly wrapped the package up and hugged it, then his eyes fell on the doorman, “Keep this quiet and don’t let anyone hear about it! Also, don’t send in any packages about the Madam after that, let me check them all!”

The doorman’s gaze was lax, obviously not yet recovered from the shock.
Jacob gritted his teeth and glared at him, and his tone went down a few more notches, “Hear me clearly!”
Only then did the doorman draw back quickly and nod his head like a garlic.
