Logan Brown’s face was calm and collected, not at all shy from the ambiguous words he had just said.
Elena Bush bristled, but was even more irritated and inexplicably helpless at the way he looked, and finally just pushed away and gave him a grim look.
The door to the booth was pushed open and Logan Brown looked up and said, “Food is served.”
“When did you order?” Elena Bush frowned again, they had been talking since earlier and hadn’t ordered ah.
“Ordered in advance.” Logan Brown’s gaze fell on the waiter who came in with the food, “the man you’ve been wanting to see.”
Elena Bush heard his words coldly and subconsciously followed his line of sight.
Without warning, a familiar figure appeared right in front of her eyes, causing her small face, which was still puzzled, to be instantly filled with joy, “Kent!?”
The man whose name was called was dressed as a waiter, his mask and hat concealing his appearance but not his evil aura.
Kent threw a wink at the cheerful little woman and said, “If you’re so happy to see me, it would be bad if some man got jealous and took revenge on me.”
“How dare he?” Elena Bush’s threatening gaze fell on Logan Brown’s body.
The latter shrugged helplessly, as if in response to his daring.
Kent sat on his butt in front of the two men, teasingly and deliberately, “Don’t, it would be bad for you two to get angry over me.”
Logan Brown’s cold eyes swept over, “You’re still a little young for that!”
“Tender?”
Kent fiddled with the tealight in his hand and raised an eyebrow in a good-natured grin, “Even if I’m tender I’m still your brother-in-law and ……”
“Alright!”
Elena Bush finally couldn’t help but speak out as she watched the two of you go back and forth, “What’s going on? You two weren’t the ones who arranged to meet and now you’re somehow looking at each other badly as soon as you meet?”
“I’m not the one who wants to meet.”
“Not me either.” Kent spread his hands, then the rest of his eyes fell on Logan Brown, “It’s just that someone went to a lot of trouble to find me and had to make a special trip for me to come over.”
Elena Bush immediately heard what he meant and laughed, “Yes, yes, yes, it was me who wanted to see you, was it me?”
Even though he didn’t say anything, she knew better than anyone that this man had done all this for her, so how could she possibly let him down?
Kent glanced at the two men and withdrew his playfulness, his eyes suddenly sharpening, “Let’s not talk about the rest, but, I hear, you’re going to help Claudia Garcia?”
“Hmm.”
“Are you guys crazy?” Elena Bush had only just nodded when Kent growled out in a low voice , “Do you have any idea how risky this really is?”
Elena Bush bit her lip and nodded, “I do, that’s why I’m helping her, I can’t just turn my back on her.”
It wasn’t that she was kind-hearted, but she couldn’t be cruel to the woman who resembled her own mother.
Furthermore, that’s a young woman who deserves a life of her own and everything she can enjoy, not to be confined by Edward Ford and end up dying in that individual home ……
She was free ……
Kent rubbed his hair fiercely, no longer relaxed, “I wouldn’t approve of this anyway, If Claudia Garcia had disappeared, do you think Edward Ford would not have pursued it?”
And if they did, the finger would be pointed at them.
Edward Ford, if he knew they were responsible, would also know that what happened at the other house had gotten to Elena Bush, and then, who knows what would have happened. Plus, the way that crazy Edward Ford was going, he couldn’t imagine!
Elena Bush lowered her eyes and didn’t answer.
Kent, seeing that she couldn’t talk, took a deep breath and simply dropped his gaze on Logan Brown, “Logan Brown, even if Elena Bush doesn’t know, you shouldn’t be unaware of it, should you? You and I both know that if ……”
“I know.” The man took over, “It’s just that, what she wants, I won’t refuse.”
Anything she wants to do, he’s more than likely not going to stop.
Kent was nearly angry with him, getting up impatiently and glancing around the box, quickly stopping to say, “Logan Brown, are you really stupid or just plain stupid? Are you doing this with the idea of pushing her into the fire?”
“I have my own agenda.”
“Your plans my ass!” Kent didn’t have a good laugh.
Elena Bush immediately looked at him and Kent looked over, “I’m a hoodlum, what’s wrong with a foul mouth?”
“No.” She shook her head, “That’s not what I meant.”
Kent looked annoyed and felt all over his body for a cigarette, but then stopped and grabbed the cloth when he thought Elena Bush was still there.
Logan Brown gave him a sidelong glance, “You’ve been avoiding Edward Ford all these days, plus you’ve had your forces dismantled by Edward Ford, where did you get this …… information?”
Kent leaned back with a hostile look on his face, “That would be out of your hands , plus, I’m just a hoodlum, and in H City, well, there are a few of my brothers, it’s not hard to know that.”
The man’s cold eyes narrowed slightly, a flicker of suspicion.
Elena Bush squeezed her palm, a warmth in her hand, and she turned her head in dismay to look at the man beside her, only then remembering that her hand was being held by him.
And then Logan Brown’s cool voice fell, “I knew you wouldn’t agree about Claudia Garcia, so I had no intention of telling you, it’s just that …… I always do what I say, and since I promised, I won’t go back on my word. ”
Above all, he did not want to see a look of regret on the face of the woman he loved.
Elena Bush’s heart suddenly beat wildly a few times, and a wave of reassurance followed.
Kent almost gritted a mouthful of silver teeth as his deep gaze fell on the pair, “Have you …… really thought this through?”
If things were exposed, it wouldn’t be a simple matter.
Elena Bush nodded, “Well, I’ve made my decision too, I’m going to help her!”
No matter what, she had made her decision and no one could shake the decision she had made.
Kent drew in a breath of cold air, and when he looked at her, a slight helplessness was revealed in his eyes.
“In that case, there’s nothing more I can do nowadays even if I say or do anything, so ……”
He paused for a moment, and Elena Bush’s expectant gaze instantly followed.
