“What is it?” I whispered, hiding the eagerness to know what he got to spill upon hearing that it will build my day more.
He loosened his hug and put some distance between us so that I could look at him. Aiden was giving me a smug smile which made me bit the insides of my cheek, forming a slight pout on my lips.
“Zynia has arrived with Zeke an hour ago.” He reached for some strands of hair on my face and brushed it gently off my face.
I can’t stop my gasp upon hearing that someone like myself, a stealer, was already here! I’m near to someone who I can talk about with. Whom I can ask of things I’m been bothered and confused about.
“They’re here!?” I attempted to move, but he cupped my face and with less force, he turned my head back to him.
“At the basement, yes. But you can’t see her yet.”
I frowned. “Why?”
He moved closer to my body, his hand on my cheek run down to my shoulder and settled on my back. “I need to make sure there’s no threat. And my blood is needed to cure the stea–Zynia. That’s what they came here for so we’ll settle that first.”
I gulped when he almost said ‘stealer’. He’s not erratic about what am I, right? It’s probably just me overthinking…
“Okay…” I said, letting go of what almost slipped his lip and how it sounded.
His hand went to my nape and drew me closer to plant a soft wet kiss on my forehead. “Get ready and be down for breakfast.” he breathed on my hair, squeezed my nape a little before letting me go.
I just watched him walked out of the room without minding to put a shirt on. If my head was not thinking things it shouldn’t, I might’ve adore that perfect bare back.
The moment the door closes, I let out a huge sigh and lay flat on my back with my arms rested above my head.
Was it just me or did I heard a hint of irritation in Aiden’s voice upon saying stealer?
I looked at the glass wall and tried appreciating the light from the rising sun but couldn’t. My head was clouded with every thoughts which I shouldn’t have.
Argh. This will blow my mind in pieces. I should take a cold shower.
Aiden’s POV
I almost mess up. I know.
I lived with the thought that stealers are bad for the wolf society. I never bothered to know more about that abnormality until I met Ashira.
And now, I should start breaking the habit of sounding like I’m angered by stealers. Now that I have one as my mate, and that I trusted her, I should be sensible before uttering any words which her abnormality involves.
“Good morning, Alpha Aiden.” Aurea bowed to me when I entered the kitchen. I nodded at her and headed to the coffeemaker. Upon grabbing a cup, I’ve thought that the visitors will need some caffeine to start their days, too.
‘Nick? Are you awake?’ I used the mind link to communicate but I got no response from him. He’s probably sleeping.
Seth went back to his mate after the safely transfer of Zynia and Zeke at The Ancestral. I can’t ask him to come here and serve the rogues. He’s been away from Ava for a while already.
And now that I think of it, since the two must stay at the basement for confidential visit, I need someone to…
I looked at Aurea and watched as she cooks breakfast. Should I tell her? She’s been loyal to me ever since her mate died.
But can I trust her? Her husband was killed from the war which started because of stealers but did she still hate them? Or did she?
Now that I’ve thought of this, we didn’t let her know that Ashira’s a stealer.
No, this is not a good idea. The fewer who knows that my mate is a stealer, the lesser chance for danger she may be in. The fewer who knows that Zynia is in my custody, the lesser chance that my people panic or cause rebellion towards this situation.
“You need something, Alpha Aiden?” Aurea asked. I blinked and cleared my throat as I realized that I was dozing off.
I shook my head and looked back to the coffeemaker. “Nothing, Au. Are you joining us for breakfast later?” I asked, diverting the topic so she wouldn’t question my behaviour.
“You know I never do, Alpha Aiden.” She chuckled.
“You should join us sometimes.”
Au just hummed and continued her cooking. She never eat with us at the same table, and I never forced her to. I know she’s most comfortable at serving me as she devoted her life for it.
I guess the visitors will have their coffee late today.
I’ll have Nick arrange a tiny kitchen for them later so they could cook of their own. I didn’t think this through. Oh well, the time was limited for it.
Or maybe I should just tell Aurea so… Damn it. No.
IT TOOK me a cup of coffee and numbers of thoughts before I sensed Ashira. She just got out of the bedroom and her scent lingers everywhere. I closed my eyes and silently inhaled the air with her intoxicating smell.
It’s not just the mating’s power. Ash have this natural body scent like of a maple syrup and cucumber mixed.
‘Your scent is making me famished.’
I heard her footstep halted briefly when I reached her though our mind portal. She’s always like this every time I’ll suddenly reached her mind. Sometimes I will hear her pulse beat faster, or louder and it make my mood beam.
‘You’re smelling the pancakes and bacon, baby.’ She replied with a chuckle.
The way she called me ‘baby’ made my cock twitched under my pants, almost making my already hardened manhood burst. She’s teasing me the way I did before when we’re talking about Zeke’s case and that made me smirk.
‘I’m sure its you I’d want to eat. Not the food, baby.’
I heard her laugh and turned my head to the side where she popped out with the widest grin.
“It’s too early to do that eating.” She said as she walked to me. I had no time to respond to that because her figure distracted my thoughts right away.
My eyes travelled down her body and I shifted on my seat when my cock twitched once more.
Damn that jeans for hugging her curves perfectly.
“Come here.” I said, leaning on the backrest to see her clearly. Her grin fades as her cheeks turned red. I can sense her temperature has risen and her heartbeat pulses faster.
I thought she’ll block my invitation but she didn’t stopped walking to me, it only got slower but she did.
When she’s right in front of me, I grabbed her wrist, pulled her and she dropped right on my lap. Her perfect round butt was right on my hard-on and I bet those thick fabric of her jeans are useless because she gasped as she felt it.
I smirked at her when her eyes dropped on my mine, forming a round shocked look.
“Aiden!” she complained half-heartedly and I just chuckled before burying my face on her drop-loose hair.
“You should stop wearing those jeans…” I whispered. I can feel her body stiffened when I inhaled right to her skin.
“W-Why?”
“If you’re on your dress, I’ll definitely be buried deep inside you now.”
