“Give us a map to your direction and we’ll be there before the sun rises. I’ll personally handpick my people so to keep confidentiality. Nick, lend him a pen and paper.”
I did what he asked and handed the rogue what he needed.
My brows furrowed with Zeke’s expression. He looked in awe and disbelief, almost a funny face.
“What?” I snapped at him. He reached for the pen and paper but his jaw was still half-dropped.
“You always have a pen and paper with you?”
I rolled my eyes. “I’m a boy-scout.”
“Oh!”
“No, dumbass! I’m prepared because this was already planned!”
Zeke laughed and started scribbling on the pen.
‘Do I look like a fool? Why’s this rogue kept making fun of me?’
‘Because you are.’
I scowled and just crossed my arms as my beta wolf slumped inside, embarrassed of me.
What the fu*ck.
Even my wolf was ashamed of me!
“Done!” The rogue handed me back the paper and I studied it. Hmm, this is not that far. “I suggests that you better bring the most trustworthy wolf slave in your pack.” He said to Aiden and it seems to me that he’s picking a fight again.
Did he just call us wolf slave?!
Aiden’s jaw tightened. “I don’t need your suggestion.”
“Hm, it was just an advice from one cousin to another. No offense.” Zeke laughed. “I’ll get going.” His face turned from a laughing one to an aserious mode. “See you before the sun rises.”
He immediately shifted and ran fast east. It’s not too long before Aiden and I was alone at the clearing.
“Have you decided who’s picking them up?” I asked.
Aiden looked at me and turn around to start walking back to The Ancestral. I followed him right away.
He sighed, his eyes were focused straight on the road.
“You and Seth will be enough since that rogue wants to be at his mother’s aid. I’m thinking of tagging Jeron but the confidentiality was keeping me off that plan.”
I squinted my eyes as I absorbed his words.
So… me and Seth…
“Just the two of us?!”
Aiden looked at me with furrowed brows. Probably from the way I shouted and hell, who won’t be-
“Don’t get me started with your whines, Nick.” He warned.
I wanted to whine more! But hell, okay, I won’t! I’ll just explode all my complaints to Seth!!!
“Inform Seth and drive the truck tomorrow. I’ll go on ahead.”
He didn’t let me speak any more as he dashed away.
Oh, God damned life of mine.
Ashira’s POV
“So you are saying that you’re…” She paused. “I’m not following.” Lucy looked at me with confusion and her eyes are squinted as she purse her lips.
I just told her I’m a stealer and that was the first sentence she uttered after a minute of jaw dropped silence.
I nodded to her. I’m not repeating what I just said because I knew she will comprehend the news in a few-
“Oh my God!” She gasps and closed her mouth with her hands. Told ya, she’ll get it.
We’re inside our room and I chose to be in it so Harley, Jacob’s Gamma, won’t hear any words I’ll say.
After Aiden and Nick went off, I called Lucy and asked her to visit which she instantly said yes. A few minutes later, Jacob delivered her into the ancestral, together with her protector.
Seth’s outside right now, too. And I bet Harley was just behind this door room and Seth must be drinking beer… somewhere.
“Are you kidding right now? Because if-Oh my God! I thought that’s a myth!”
“Come on, you know its not.” I chuckled. “Yeah, I’m a stealer but please don’t judge me. I’m not-”
“Judge you? Pft! Never! But I can’t believe it. I cannot believe it, Ashi!” She even muttered a silent wow. “Does Aiden know? I mean, he must have, right?”
“He knew.” I said, nodding and diverting my eyes somewhere but her eyes.
“That explains his overprotective attitude, huh? How did he react when he found out? Did you tell it to him or-”
“It’s tragic…”
I started telling her about what happened and she kept gasping and hissing as I go on about our story.
“That’s awful. But he take it easy, huh.” She commented.
“That’s easy?” I looked at her like she’s being funny right now.
“Girl, you haven’t heard? My mate is still punishing me up to this day.” She laughed. I got curious again about her case and their ‘situation’ but she finished the topic about herself before I could speak a word. “Enough of mine,” she laughed. “Damn it! You’re so lucky with your mate! Don’t tell me you can’t see that!”
Even though I’d like to hear more of her life, I can sense how hard she tries and conceal her truth.
I didn’t pushed her from saying anything about herself and her situation, whatever it was.
“I do but… though I’m scared.”
“Scared? Of what?”
I sighed and stood up from sitting. I brushed my hands on my hair and stop right next the glass window.
