Okay. This guy definitely looked a lot like Aiden. About seventy-percent for sure.
I just scoffed and Zeke laughed.
Hm, maybe sixty-percent now because he seems insane and far from stern and strict attitude.
The rogue started walking closer to us.
“Stay where-”
I didn’t get the chance to finish the sentence because Aiden put his hand up, stopping me from speaking.
He’s letting the rogue do his ways.
I watched him walk closer to the rogue as well. I exhaled a huge breath and followed the leader. A stubborn Alpha. Damn it.
We came to a stop for just a meter away. Aiden kept looking at the rogue while the other kept smiling at him, glancing my way and back to Aiden again. His smile is pretentious. It never reached his eyes.
“I believe your mate told you what I want.”
The rogue’s voice sounded rude and the way he smirked didn’t prove any innocence with it.
“You harmed my mate?.”
Zeke laughed hard that it echoed through the woods. I sighed. I won’t be surprised if any trackers around come here to inspect.
“I didn’t. I have no problem with her to harm her, Aiden. Or Alpha Aiden, was it?” He looked at me sarcastically. “Or maybe I should start calling you ‘cousin’?”
I growled. The nerve of this rogue!
Aiden chuckled coolly, making me snap my eyes at him in question. What’s funny?
“Don’t get too comfortable now, rogue.” Aiden said, half smiling.
Zeke laughed. “Okay. I can’t afford to piss you off again, Aiden. I’ll get straight with my business and that’s asking for some of your blood.”
Aiden tilted his head and winced.
“I didn’t hear any plead.”
I almost laugh. Oh now I get it, Aiden was not letting the rogue get under his skin. He’s playing along. Though I’m not sure how far he can.
The rogue’s jaw tightened and his eyes pierced through Aiden like he’s going to attack. I prepared myself for a possible strike but nothing came.
Zeke’s built relaxed as he bowed his head, looking down at the ground.
“Please lend me your blood. Mother needed it fast so she could recover from Jorhia’s curse.” He said in a low voice.
My face makes a ‘whoa’ look from how fast he pleaded. Maybe this thing is real, huh? Zynia is ill. And it’s true.
“Hm,” was Aiden’s short response.
Zeke squinted his eyes at Aiden. His brows met as confusion hits his expression.
“Will you help or not? Because if it’s a no, you need to tell me so I could slash your neck for some drops of your blood.”
Aiden growled inwardly but it seems like he controlled it.
I’m not really sure on what Aiden was thinking but I can assume that he’s considering the rogue more than enough.
“Brave.” I can hear Aiden smirking from his voice. “But since you’ll end up dead, a fight won’t be necessary. I’m willing to help because you returned my mate safe to me” Aiden crosses his arms “but under one condition.”
There was a slight silence. I can hear the rogue’s heartbeat and it’s not nervous about any of what was going on.
“What condition?”
“I need you to bring Zynia here on my land. Cure her here or however you want, but it happens here. It has to be at my territory.”
Zeke’s jaw dropped as he stares at Aiden. He was thinking, I can tell.
Aiden wanted Ashira to meet Zynia but he can’t risk the exposure of Ash’s abnormality. So it happens here, at his land.
“No. No. That’s not possible. Mother is too weak to travel.” He looked at me and back at Aiden but he got no reaction from us.
Zeke studied our face and I kept a steady one. I knee Aiden won’t let this be negotiated. He never does when it involves Ashira.
“Everything’s already planned, isn’t it?” the rogue assumed.
No one answered him instantly. We let him think about it because that’s the only way Aiden will help him and his mother.
There was a huge tension in the air that it almost made me suffocated. The two alpha blood kept staring at each other like a lion to it’s prey.
“We are to arrange the transportation that is best suited to your mother’s condition. As well as the facility and accommodation while she’s staying at The Prime.” I butted in when I felt like there are lightning and thunder between their exchanged gazes.
Zeke’s eyes pierced to mine for a moment before he looked back to Aiden.
“How can I trust that Mother will be safe in your territory? Some of your people who witnessed what happened ages ago were still here. Alive. She might be harmed.”
We foresaw this but he got no options to choose.
“A drop of my blood may give rise to a curse that may harm me. Still, I’ll lend you some.” Aiden answered with a low voice, proving a point. “This is not about trust, rogue. From the start, we knew that trust was preposterous between us.”
I observed the rogue’s reaction and I knew he’s backing down. He’s finally realizing that there is no way that he can push his own conditions.
“Fine.” Zeke said at last, throwing a glance at me like he’s not comfortable with how the talk was moving into. “Then here’s my condition-”
What a rude guy.
“You’re already lucky that our Alpha agrees with what you need, favors are too much to be included with that privilege.” I said, feeling proud on how my voice sounded.
My eyes squinted when the rogue smirked. What is this guy smirking about?
“I got no pack but I’m not dumb, Beta.” He said to me, smirking. Then he turned to Aiden as he washed the smirk off his face. “I know you want something from us. You need us, too.”
“I need no one.” Aiden said firmly through gritted teeth.
The rogue made a funny face and acted like thinking.
“Really? I thought the reason you want my mother in your premises was to know more about her abnormality…” the rogue even put his fingers on his chin, completing his act of dumbed sarcasm.
