Chapter 750: Termination of Contract

Book:A Successful Career After Divorce Published:2024-6-4

There’s a lot of online chatter, and if public opinion gets out of hand, it might affect the stable stock price of Steland Monolith Technology.
Ranita doesn’t want to jeopardize Steland Monolith Technology because of herself. This company is her father’s lifelong dedication.
Jedidiah comforts her: “Don’t worry, you’re just here temporarily to help out, there’s nothing much to say from the board.”
Jedidiah sighs, “I’m more worried about you. You’re alone in Kurima, and if something happens, I can’t do much from here. I’ll come over to pick you up.”
“Sis, you stay at the company. There’s no need for you to come specially to pick me up. I’ll bring Ayaan back after I finish here.”
Pausing for a moment, Ranita adds, “And the termination of the contract hasn’t been fully negotiated yet.”
Indeed, it’s inconvenient for Jedidiah to leave Steland at this time.
“Also, try not to let our parents know about the situation to avoid worrying them. Especially Dad, he’s not in good health yet.”
“I understand, take care of yourself.” Ranita just hung up the phone when she received a call from Cindy.
“Ranita, what do you mean? How did we violate the contract? Why do you want to terminate it?”
Ranita smiles lightly, “Our legal department has already sent you the termination letter? You’ll know the details when we meet.”
“Cindy, do you know there’s compensation for terminating the contract?” Cindy’s attitude is quite unfriendly, and she’s a bit condescending.
Shannon has been smooth sailing from debut until now, never expected to be terminated before retiring. Cindy is uncomfortable, and so is Shannon. It’s not about the money, it’s about saving face.
“Do you think I lack money?” Ranita remains calm.
“You!” Cindy punches the cotton, “Ranita, you’re ruthless.”
Ranita calmly puts away her phone, preparing to borrow a car from Brendon and head out. As she walks towards the study, the deep voice of the man inside reaches her ears, “Uncle Murphy, I’ll go see Shannon according to your wishes.”
“But as for the divorce, I won’t take it back.”
“Right, it won’t change.” Brendon’s voice carries some apology, “I’m grateful for what Shannon did for me, but we’re really not suitable for each other.”
Perhaps this sentence angered the other party, faintly some words could be heard, but too far away to make out clearly.
Ranita was about to step back when a voice came from inside, “Ranita?”
She gently pushes the door open, “I want to go out later, and I want to borrow a car.”
“Do you know where the car keys are? Pick whichever you like.” Brendon looks up at her, “The car you used to drive is still here.”
Because the Stuart family never announced her existence, Ranita herself keeps a low profile, and her car is the shabbiest one in Boulderland Mansion.
Holly used to see it and always mocked her as poor.
The car is worth over five hundred thousand, she’s been looking at it for three years, and it’s still the least valuable thing in Boulderland Mansion. She didn’t expect Brendon to keep it.
Ranita purses her lips, her expression slightly moved.
“I didn’t mean that, you didn’t like driving expensive cars before…” Brendon feels the more he explains, the worse it gets, so he stops talking.
“There are still reporters outside, better go out later!” Ranita nods and leaves.
After taking a few steps, Ranita turns back and asks, “Are you… going to see Shannon?”
“I overheard just now.”
“Yeah… the Murphy family called. Shannon’s not emotionally stable, hoping I could go over. I’m going as a friend, don’t worry.”
After Brendon finishes speaking earnestly, he asks again, “Or, do you want to come with me?”
