Shannon’s face didn’t look good either.
She actually pretended to faint. The situation at the time was too awkward, and Brendon’s cold attitude made her extremely angry. The only thing she could do was pretend to faint.
“Cindy, you can’t! Brendon is not someone easy to deal with. If you make him angry, the consequences are not something you can handle.” Shannon was now very careful, she had finally persuaded Brendon to agree to the announcement of the engagement cancellation.
If she made Brendon angry and he held a press conference to distance himself from her, then she would truly have no chance.
“But…” Cindy was very unwilling, “Mr. Stuart is too heartless towards you. You’ve waited for him for so many years, how can he treat you like this.”
“Shannon, I really feel sorry for you!”
Shannon’s eyes were filled with mist, “Thank you, Cindy, you’ve been the best to me! But there are some things that I can’t decide.”
“But I won’t give up.”
“Yes, you really can’t give up. After all the effort you’ve put in, it would be a waste to give up now.” After a pause, a bold idea emerged in Cindy’s mind, “Shannon, don’t worry, we can’t intervene directly but we can find someone to help you.”
Shannon was very pleased.
“Cindy, maybe it’s better to forget it, I can handle it myself… there’s no need to involve others.” Shannon spoke softly, on the verge of tears, pretending to be strong and pitiful.
“Fool, if I don’t help you, who will?” Shannon’s eyes were innocent, but deep down, she was chuckling at Cindy being somewhat naive – albeit useful.
After making the call, Ranita copied the promotional video and interview footage, and after a few instructions to the photographer, she left.
Brendon had been following her all along, which annoyed her.
“How long are you going to follow me?” Ranita turned around impatiently to look at the man, “Don’t follow, take the next elevator down.”
As she spoke, Brendon’s body suddenly swayed, and he grasped the wall for support.
“Hiss!” Brendon touched his back and winced in pain.
“What’s wrong with you?” Ranita hesitated and asked, “Are you okay?”
“My back hurts,” Brendon frowned.
It was only then that Ranita remembered that the metal frame had hit Brendon’s back when it fell earlier.
But she didn’t ask because Shannon had fainted.
“Did it hit you earlier?” Ranita couldn’t bear to say, “You should go to the hospital.”
“I didn’t drive.”
Unimpressed, Ranita said, “Follow me, I’ll take you there!”
At the hospital, Ranita found out that Brendon’s back was heavily bruised from the impact, looking quite terrifying.
“The soft tissue injury seems quite severe. If you’re still worried, you should stay in the hospital for a couple of days,” Ryland, who was personally examining Brendon, advised carefully, judging from Brendon’s facial expression.
Ranita hadn’t expected him to need hospitalization, “Is it that serious?”
Ryland initially wanted to suggest going home to apply medicine and take something for the bruising, but he stopped himself as Brendon gave him a cold glance.
Ryland immediately changed his statement, “After all, it was a heavy object that hit you. In case of internal injuries, it’s best to have a detailed check-up tomorrow.”
Brendon was very satisfied.
“Fine, arrange a room.”
Upon hearing this, Ryland breathed a sigh of relief.
Brendon was staying in a VIP ward, which had an excellent environment. After settling him into the room, Ranita awkwardly said, “Thank you for today. I’ve arranged a nurse for you, just call if you need anything. Furthermore, I’ll cover all the medical expenses…”
