MARU’S POV
I was left dumbfounded.
I didn’t expect that coming.
All this time she harbors resentment towards me.
I admit that I judged Alex too much.
Well you can’t blame me. Except for the fact that she tried to steal my wife, she also hurt Jana. Though I know that its not his fault that he fell for my wife.
When you started to fell for her it will very hard for you to get up and all you ca do is to wait for her to fell for you too.
I went home alone.
I went straight to our room but she’s not there.
Then I went to our daughter’s room.
That is the only place she can go besides our room.
I saw my wife lying on the bed that we really put so that anyone who took care of our child could rest.
I slowly went to her.
Her forehead furrowed as she slept. It was obvious that she were still annoyed.
I sighed and removed the frown on her face.
I tapped her softly.
“Hon…” I called her.
She did not move so I softly tapped her again and call her.
“Wife let’s go to our room.” I softly said.
She gradually move and her eyes open.
When she saw me she immediately frowned.
“What are you doing here?” She asked coldly.
“I’m picking you up. Let’s go to our room hon.” I told her.
“I’m fine here.” She answered coldly.
I heaved a heavy sighed. I can’t bear her hate towards me.
“Wife please…” I pleaded.
She did not answer me. She just turned away from me and went back to sleep.
The bed is small just right for one person. I should have put a queen size bed instead. So that I can still sleep next to her whenever things like this happened.
But no matter how small the bed were I still lay in the bed next to her.
Mara faced me. Our faces are too close.
I saw her eyes widen.
“What do you think you are doing?” She hissed.
I just hugged her and put my head around its neck and smelled it.
I could hear her gasped.
“Maru!” She called me.
“Don’t be angry with me wife please. I can’t be still knowing that you are angry with me.” I said while I tighten my hug.
“If you really can’t respect my friend then start to train yourself to sleep alone.” She said in a serious tone.
My wife pushed me hard and got out of bed.
She returned to our room and I followed her.
I saw her taking a small bag and put some clothes on.
“W-wife! What are you doing?” I was suddenly nervous at what I saw.
“I can’t have a proper rest here. I have a lot of work in the office tomorrow. So I’ll just go to a hotel first because what I need right now is to have a good rest and you’re bothering me.” She said coldly.
“Wife please… don’t do this.” I pleaded.
“Respect Maru. That’s the only thing I am asking you to do.” She said seriously.
I lower my head.
“Alright.” I said then I look at her.
“I’m sorry for everything I said to Alex. I’m sorry if I judged him even if he is not doing anything wrong with me. Sorry wife. Please don’t leave me. I can’t take it.”
I saw her face soften and she went to me.
She caress my face.
“Thank you.” She said and she smile at me.
And then she gave me a kiss.
But knowing myself I’m not contented with a simple kiss that’s why I deepen our kiss and we ended up in love making.
Everything went smooth in the past weeks.
I learn to respect Alex. And it feels light. I must thank my wife for this.
Jana seems happy with her relationship with Alex because she rarely went to me.
At least everything is falling into place.
Mara is in America . She will stay there for a week because of the HID event.
I knew she will get the deal. Mara is known now in the business industry.
I just smile when I remember what my business partners were telling me about her.
They were more scared at her than me. She’s intimidating because of her strong will and attitude. She’s not afraid of anything or anyone.
That’s why I’m confident that she will get the deal.
You just can’t say no to Mara Denise Almonte-Ottave.
You just can’t.
I was engrossed with my work when my phone rang.
Calling… Jana
“Jana?”
“Maru…”
I was alarmed when I hear the sadness in her voice.
“What happen? Are you okay?” I asked worriedly.
“I’m not Maru. Can you come to me? I’m here at the cafe we often go to. ”
I can hear her cry.
“Okay. Wait for me.”
I immediately left the office and instructed my secretary about my whereabouts.
When I arrived at the cafe I saw her crying on the side.
I entered the cafe and consoled her.
“What’s the problem? Why are you crying?” I asked with full of concern.
She looked at me. Her eyes looks tired from crying.
“Can you come with me to Tagaytay? I just want to breathe.” She said.
I nodded and helped her out of the cafe.
We will be using her car. I volunteered to drive but she refused.
I just let her do what she wants.
We were silent the whole travel.
We were already in Nuvali but she was still crying.
“Jana stop crying. How many hours have you been crying? You’ll get sick later if you will not stop crying. What really is your problem?” I can’t help but asked.
“Maru I thought I could do it…” she began to talk.
I furrowed. I did not answer her, I just let her cry.
“I thought I could do it but I can’t. It hurts so much because he is with me but I know that in his heart it still Mara.”
My fist clenched from what I heard.
“I know that he didn’t mean to hurt me. But I can’t stop myself from hurting!” She said while still crying.
“Jana let me drive. Your emotions are not stable. We might have an accident.” I said worriedly.
She just shook her head.
“Maru tell me. Is something wrong with me? Am I not worthy to love?” she asked me.
“No Jana. You are worthy to love.” I said trying to comfort her.
“Then why? Why can’t the person I love love me? I did nothing but to love him! But why can’t he love me back?! Why?!” She said a bit hysterical.
My eyes widened when I saw that we were about to collide with a truck.
I immediately removed my seatbelt to move the steering wheel.
“Jana!”
I turned the steering wheel to avoid the truck. But I did not notice the tree.
So before crashing into the tree I hugged Jana to protect her.
My body was numb from the pain.
“M-maru!”
That’s all I heard and I lost consciousness.
