Holly had made up her mind. If Ranita continued with that attitude, she wouldn’t hesitate to take action against Ayaan, the illegitimate child of Brendon. Amiya had warned her not to harm Ayaan, as he was Brendon’s son and her nephew. But Ayaan carried the Bowman surname and was born to Ranita, which Holly despised.
Shannon was the one who carried Brendon’s child, making her the true aunt of the child.
“Holly, please don’t act impulsively! Brendon is currently siding with Ranita, and your impulsive actions will surely anger him,” Shannon bit her lip, “I know you’re doing this for my sake, but I don’t want you to argue with Brendon because of me.”
Holly was deeply moved by Shannon’s words.
She couldn’t understand why Brendon would betray someone as kind as Shannon. Holly tried to find a reason and ended up blaming it all on Ranita. If it weren’t for Ranita, none of this would have happened…
Holly’s disgust towards Ranita grew stronger.
“Shannon, don’t worry! I won’t get into trouble. I’m willing to do anything for you! Just wait for my good news!” Holly stormed out in anger, and Shannon received a phone call.
The voice on the other end was sticky sweet, “Darling Shannon, did I disturb you?”
Disgust flashed in Shannon’s eyes, but her voice still sounded pitiful, “I didn’t sleep well last night. I told you not to call me. I appreciate your affection for me, but I hope you can keep some distance.”
Her voice was naturally weak, and with a touch of a crying tone, it made her seem even more pitiful.
“Darling Shannon, did someone bully you? If you’ve been wronged, you have to tell me. I’ll help you no matter what,” the person on the phone said in a concerned tone.
“No, no… Please don’t call me anymore. Thank you for your affection,” Shannon replied, then added, “I have a press conference to attend today, so I need to rest.”
Shannon hung up the phone and received several text messages asking why she was upset. Shannon didn’t reply, and it seemed like the person had given up.
However, soon after, the man privately messaged Cindy and quickly got an answer.
Ranita’s biological clock was accurate. She woke up in a daze, stretching lazily while yawning.
“Hmm?” Her hand touched a warm arm, and Ranita’s groggy mind suddenly cleared. She stared at half of Brendon’s face in confusion. How did they end up embracing each other?
Brendon was lying on his side, with one arm still around her waist.
Their bodies were pressed together, wrapped in a warm and cozy embrace. It was fine when they were asleep, but now that she was awake, Ranita felt the warmth from being in such close proximity.
Ranita gently pulled her hand away and slowly retreated to the edge of the bed. However, as soon as she moved, Brendon woke up. With half-closed eyes, he lazily glanced at her and pulled her back into his embrace.
Ranita’s face was directly pressed against his chest, and she almost choked on her own saliva.
Ranita’s nose felt a bit sour, and she pushed him slightly in annoyance, saying, “Brendon, let go. I want to get up.”
“It’s still early. Sleep a little longer,” Brendon said, his warm palm sliding from her waist to her leg.
Ranita’s mind suddenly heated up. She was about to move his hand away when she realized his other hand was resting on her lower abdomen.
A rush of heat surged through Ranita’s mind.
“Brendon…” Ranita anxiously called out to him, but he only hummed and drew her closer, closing his eyes without saying anything.
Ranita was irritated, her face flushed.
