“Mr. Terry, what a coincidence?”
Ranita glanced at the time; it was almost one o’clock, and she hadn’t expected Makhi to come out for lunch too.
“Yeah! Why are you out so late?” Makhi smiled and looked at Marlon, who greeted him first.
“I had some things to attend to, so…” Ranita hadn’t finished her sentence when a familiar voice sounded from behind, “Ranita? What are you doing here?”
Ranita turned around but bumped into a man.
The scent of sandalwood spread, and Ranita’s heart thumped fiercely, her shoulders stiffening. She raised her eyes and almost hit the man’s chin. “You… What are you doing here…”
“I came here with Mr. Goodman for dinner.” Ranita replied softly and quickly stepped back, but she moved too fast and accidentally bumped into Makhi.
“Be careful!” Makhi swiftly reached out to support her.
Brendon frowned disapprovingly at Makhi’s hand, reaching out to pull Ranita. “Why are you so careless? Stand firm.”
Ranita felt a bit embarrassed, gently agreeing and pulling her hand away from Brendon’s.
“Brendon, do you also know Ranita?” Makhi asked curiously.
“Yeah! I know her.” Brendon looked at her with lowered eyes, his lips slightly curling up. Not only did he know her, but he was also quite familiar with her.
“That’s really a coincidence! Gauss Technology and Monolith Technology are collaborating, and I just met with Ranita this morning. I didn’t expect to run into her again like this.” Makhi’s voice was clear and pleasant, uplifting one’s mood.
“Is that so? That’s indeed a coincidence.” Brendon said softly, his gaze constantly on Ranita.
Ranita felt her scalp tingling from being stared at and wished she could kick him to remind him!
“Mr. Terry… I won’t disturb you and Mr. Stuart. We’ll go eat first.” Ranita was about to leave when Brendon said, “Since everyone knows each other, why don’t we eat together?”
Makhi was taken aback. He looked at Brendon with suspicion, feeling a strange sensation in his heart.
But it was rare to see Brendon being so proactive, so he also extended the invitation, “Maybe we are fated to have dinner together.”
Ranita wanted to refuse, but her finger was discreetly pinched.
Her finger felt like it was caught in flames, making her head hot with fear.
By the time they were delayed, they were already walking towards the private room together. Once Ranita sat down, Brendon sat next to her and quietly grabbed her finger when no one was looking.
Ranita was furious and kicked him.
Brendon gave her a pitiful look, leaning his long legs over to her knee. His skin emitted a slightly higher temperature, and the fine fabric of his suit seemed to ignite friction.
Ranita wanted to dodge but found Brendon’s rogue hand pressing on her leg… Ranita was both angry and annoyed, wanting to push him away but afraid of attracting attention with too much movement.
Luckily, Brendon didn’t make any further moves and just kept his leg close to hers, making Ranita’s ears heat up and her cheeks flush.
“Ranita, why is your face so red? Is it too hot? Should I ask someone to lower the air conditioning?” Makhi noticed and asked with concern.
Before Ranita could reply, her leg was lightly pinched, almost making her scream! Ranita’s eyes flickered, glaring at Brendon discreetly, and quickly said, “It’s a bit hot!”
“I’ll go to the restroom first…”
Ranita hurried out to catch her breath! There was a restroom not far from the private room, and as she was washing her hands, she suddenly felt a hug from behind, and a familiar voice echoed in her ears.
