Chapter 605 Like Him

Book:A Successful Career After Divorce Published:2024-6-4

Ranita and Olivia made a visit to Gauss Technology.
Downstairs, to her surprise, Ranita ran into Lily. Dressed in professional attire, Lily sarcastically remarked, “Oh, why isn’t your wealthy young master accompanying you today?”
Since the auction, Ranita had been busy and hadn’t interacted with Lily. However, her association with Augustus still attracted attention, and Lily couldn’t resist being part of the scene.
“Lily, it’s been a while!” Olivia also knew Lily, a highly active figure in the translation circle in recent years.
“Oh… You’re Olivia? Oh, why are you with Ranita?” Lily pulled Olivia warmly. “Remember our discussion about collaborating? Have you considered it?”
Olivia looked at her speechless, “Lily, Ranita and I are here for a reason. Can we talk later?”
“You’re accompanying Ranita?” Lily rolled her eyes. “Ranita, what are you doing here?”
“We’re here for Gauss Technology…” Before Ranita could finish, Lily scoffed, “You’re going to Gauss Technology? Do you have an appointment? You can’t just casually meet them!”
“Lily!” Olivia had no issues with Lily initially, but her rudeness towards Ranita made Olivia furious. “We’re here on behalf of Monolith Technology, we have matters to attend to. Please don’t obstruct us.”
Just then, a young female assistant came down to greet Ranita politely, “Miss Bowman, Mr. Terry is waiting upstairs for you. Please follow me!”
“Also, you’re Ms. Lane, right? Mr. Terry is meeting with guests; you may have to wait a bit.”
Lily reluctantly took the elevator with Ranita to Gauss Technology’s office.
Once Ranita left, Lily immediately asked the assistant, “I had an appointment with Mr. Makhi Terry at 9:30. Why am I being delayed?”
“That’s Mr. Terry’s instruction, Ms. Lane. Please wait patiently!” The assistant replied courteously and hurried off.
When Ranita saw Makhi, she was momentarily stunned.
She had thought it was a namesake coincidence, but it turned out to be the Makhi she knew.
Seeing Ranita staring at him, Makhi adjusted his glasses, smiled, and said, “Ms. Bowman, I’m Makhi. It’s a pleasure to meet you!”
“Is there something on my face?”
Olivia nudged Ranita, bringing her back to reality. She smiled lightly and said, “Mr. Terry, my apologies.”
“Are you from Kurima Foreign Studies University too? I feel like I’ve seen you somewhere,” Ranita didn’t just find him familiar; she actually knew Makhi.
He was two years ahead of Ranita.
The first time she saw Brendon, he was greeting Makhi. In her quest for information about Brendon, she had inquired about Makhi, but before they could meet, he went abroad.
“Yes! You do look familiar!” Makhi’s features were similar to Brendon’s, and upon closer inspection, their eyes were somewhat alike.
“Ranita… Ah! I remember now. You’re the beauty from my department who’s two years junior to me, right?” Makhi’s slightly elongated eyes lit up, resembling Brendon even more.
