“By the way… Did you buy the gift to give to Ranita?” Allen asked, and Brendon’s mood improved slightly.
He bought the jadeite, and Ranita accepted it!
“I did,” Brendon replied without hesitation when Allen asked if Ranita accepted it.
“Really? Ranita accepted it?” Allen asked curiously.
“She accepted it!” Brendon answered firmly, making Allen somewhat suspicious. “She really accepted it?”
“She accepted it,” Brendon repeated, then added, “I bought a set of green jade for her, but she didn’t want it. However, I told her it was for Ayaan’s future bride, and she accepted it.”
Allen was speechless.
It was an unexpected success.
“Accepting it is good enough!” Allen chuckled. “Brendon… Have you ever thought that when I suggested you buy a gift, it could have been something like roses…”
“That’s a good idea. Ranita does like flowers,” Brendon said, suddenly remembering an incident from several years ago. They had been married for over a year at that time, and they were on a business trip together. The hotel they stayed in happened to have a wealthy young man proposing romantically.
Ranita’s gaze had been fixed on the bouquet of roses the whole time.
He had even asked her if she wanted roses… but Ranita shook her head and said no.
He didn’t think much of it at the time.
The next day, when Ranita went to work, she received a bouquet of roses and a message from Brendon asking, “Did you receive the flowers?”
Ranita was speechless.
No good deed goes unpunished!
Ranita looked at the bright red roses, gritting her teeth as she replied, “What are you up to?”
But Brendon didn’t reply, leaving her staring at her phone, her thoughts stirred up.
“Ranita, why have you been looking at your phone and the roses all this time?” Olivia asked, giving her a meaningful look. “Is there a man pursuing you?”
Ranita coughed lightly. “Isn’t it normal for someone as beautiful and capable as me to have someone pursuing me?”
“Really? Is it the young master from a rich family?” Olivia asked, but seeing Ranita getting annoyed, she quickly waved her hand. “Okay, I won’t ask anymore! Are you going out on a date tonight?”
“What are you thinking! There’s nothing like that!” Ranita handed the documents to Olivia. “Quickly finish these for me, or you won’t have time to go on a date tonight!”
Olivia already had a boyfriend and was even preparing to get married.
“Hehe! I’ll get to it right away!” Once Olivia left, Ranita stared at the roses, lost in thought.
She had been waiting for years for this bouquet of flowers. It had taken so long.
Just then, the intercom buzzed.
“Miss Bowman, Miss Murphy is here and wants to see you.”
Shannon was here? As the spokesperson for Monolith Technology, Ranita couldn’t turn her away.
Shannon arrived shortly after. She was dressed beautifully, with exquisite makeup that showed no sign of weariness. She held a bouquet of roses in her hands.
“Ranita, can I put the flowers here?” Shannon asked, placing the roses on the table without waiting for her consent. They were placed next to the bouquet Brendon had sent earlier, with slightly different packaging.
“I received the flowers Brendon had someone send when I came here, so I brought them along,” Shannon smiled and said, sitting down without hesitation. She got straight to the point, her words carrying a sharp edge. “Ranita, I came here specifically to talk to you about Brendon.”
“As his fiancée, I sincerely hope you stop interfering in our relationship.”
