Ranita raised an eyebrow and teased, “Dylan, you and Eve seem to have a good relationship these past few years!”
“We’re just friends, what’s so good about it?” Eve coughed lightly. “Don’t say anything weird.”
Ranita pinched Eve secretly, causing her to blush immediately. She leaned in and whispered in Ranita’s ear, “Stop teasing me!”
“Oh… so it’s not like that then! I happen to have a beautiful single colleague who works as a translator. I’m thinking of introducing her to Dylan…”
Eve reached out and slapped her arm. “You dare!”
“Oh! But you said you were just friends,” Ranita smirked. A few years ago when they were younger, Eve was more open-minded about their relationship but since Ranita had been away for some time now, she noticed that there was something unspoken between them.
Eve couldn’t help but confide in Ranita.
“I was just saying! Ugh… Dylan is such a blockhead when it comes to romance.”
After Eve finished complaining, she couldn’t help but gossip, “When you came back this time, didn’t Dr. Pearson come with you?”
“Dr. Pearson traveled thousands of miles and has been helping you raise your son, yet you don’t seem to have any feelings for him…”
Ranita smiled with a hint of disappointment in her eyes, “If only there was someone like that!”
In fact, she had been with Steve for several years, so saying that she had no feelings for him would be uncertain, but the emotions between them were more of friendship and family ties…
Ranita had also considered that if she had to marry someone to give Ayaan a complete family, Dr. Pearson would indeed be a good choice.
“Dr. Pearson went to participate in medical assistance.” Ranita sighed, “Dr. Pearson has such great medical skills. He should really benefit the people of the world instead of staying in a small clinic every day.”
“I’m very grateful for what he has done for me.”
Eve was extremely surprised, “Why would he go there at a time like this? I heard that there are serious infectious diseases and poor living conditions in remote areas there…”
“Yasmin ran into trouble there.”
“Oh, I see! Then it’s definitely necessary to go help!” Eve paused and whispered, “I just think it’s a shame that Dr. Pearson didn’t come back at this time!”
Ranita understood what she meant and poked her head, “Why are you talking nonsense! There’s nothing between me and Dr. Pearson! As for Brendon… his fiancée is here, it’s none of my business!”
Eve originally wanted to expose her, but seeing Ranita’s low-spirited look, she decided not to say anything.
“Don’t think too much. Everything will work out in the end. Who knows what will happen in the future!” Eve gave Ranita a hug. “Isn’t it great to focus on making money and building a career while you’re young?”
Talking about this made Eve feel a bit down.
“Ranita, I’m actually envious of you! I heard from my married friend in the industry that no matter how glamorous they are in public, they have a pile of trivial matters at home, and even the most talented and beautiful couples end up resenting each other in the end.”
Eve stood up, filled with envy, jealousy, and resentment. “And you, you have money, a career, and a child, but no husband… You’re truly a winner in life!”
“Although Brendon is scum, he does have a good grandfather! He left you so much money that you couldn’t spend it in several lifetimes!”
Ranita laughed heartily at the remarks, “Right? Are you jealous?”
“His grandfather has been really good to me!” Mentioning Wyatt, Ranita couldn’t help but feel a bit sentimental. She had been away for four years and hadn’t been able to pay her respects to him. She didn’t even know if his spirit in the heavens would be angry with her.
Just then, there was a sudden knock on the hospital room door.
Eve hopped over to open it but snorted coldly, “Miss Murphy, what do you want?”
Ranita’s heart skipped a beat. Was Shannon here?
