Holly left.
After Ranita returned to the ward, Ayaan immediately hugged her leg and asked, “Mommy, that lady earlier was so mean! Did she bully you?”
“No! How could I be bullied by someone!” Ranita pinched the little one’s cheek. “I’m very powerful, right?!”
Ayaan nodded, but still curious, he asked, “Mommy, she’s Dad’s sister, so should I call her Auntie?”
“She’s mean to me, and you still want to call her Auntie?” Ranita felt uncomfortable, but the little one was too young to be involved in the grievances between adults.
The little one squinted and smiled, “I’m just figuring out the relationship.”
“Mommy, I’m hungry. Can you buy me something to eat?” Ayaan promised, “I’ll be good and wait for you in the room.”
This was a single occupancy ward with good conditions and dedicated nurses, so it was relatively safe. However, Ranita was afraid.
“Uncle will come later…” Ranita said, only to remember that Jedidiah was on a business trip today and couldn’t come.
“Grandma had someone bring delicious food. Let’s wait a little longer…” Ranita looked at Ayaan’s pitiful expression and gave in softly, “I’ll go buy you something to eat. But you mustn’t wander around or follow anyone, okay?”
“I know, Mommy!”
As soon as Ranita left, the little one climbed down from the bed, carefully pushed open the door, and quietly slipped into Brendon’s ward while the nurse wasn’t paying attention.
Ayaan pushed open the door and saw the fierce-looking Holly.
“Hey, kid! Come here!” Holly also noticed him and her big eyes rolled.
“What do you want from me, Auntie?!”
Holly was originally thinking about how to get Ayaan’s hair, and now he came to her on his own. Holly felt secretly delighted.
“You’ll know if you come over.” Holly smiled. “I have something delicious here. If you come, I’ll give it to you.”
Ayaan perked up his ears, quickly glanced behind him, and then walked towards Holly, asking, “Auntie, what do you want to do?”
Holly didn’t pay any attention to the child at all and reached out directly towards Ayaan, wanting to pull his hair.
Little did she know that as soon as she touched his head, Ayaan fell backward and sat on the ground, crying out loudly, “Waaaah!”
At that moment, a furious roar came from outside the door, “Holly, what are you doing!”
“Holly, have you gone mad? You can even harm such a little child!” Allen rushed up with a quick stride and picked up Ayaan from the ground. “Ayaan, are you okay? Tell me where it hurts!”
Allen had already seen Ayaan before, and initially he was quite shocked, but later he became obsessed with him, treating Ayaan like his own child.
“Uncle!” Ayaan reached out his chubby hand and hugged Allen. There were several finger marks on his white arm where he had been pinched, which made Allen instantly furious. “Holly, did you pinch Ayaan too?!”
Brendon sat in his wheelchair, coldly looking at Holly and reached out his hand, saying, “Ayaan, come over, let Daddy have a look.”
Ayaan, with a pitiful pout, threw himself into Brendon’s arms. “Daddy!”
“Ayaan, what happened?” Brendon had extraordinary patience with Ayaan and his voice was very gentle.
“Brendon, Allen, I didn’t touch him! He did it himself…” Holly tried to defend herself but was stopped by Brendon’s cold gaze.
Meanwhile, Ayaan pouted and softly complained, “Not only did Auntie scold Mommy, but she also bullied me. My hand hurts.”
