Chapter 48

**ANNABELLE**
On a normal day, I should cower in fear for the fact that he knows I kissed someone but this time, it has to be different. I can’t let myself let him take control when he has nothing over me.
“Yes, we kissed. I’m thinking out loud on what next to do. I’m sorry if that disturbs you in any way.”
I said followed by a nonchalant shrug. I’ve heard people say using your flaws as an armour makes it Impossible for anyone to use them to hurt you. I guess they’re right.
“I’ve gotten my money. I’ll be on my way. I’ll see you tomorrow Fallon.”
He didn’t utter another word. I didn’t wait for him to get over whatever state he was is, I simply turned around and walked away.
Behind closed doors, I placed my hand on my chest breathing heavily. I shut my mind to every silly thoughts. Nothing good ever comes out of Fallon and I spending more time than we should.
“Shit!”
I cursed realizing I left my purse in my office. I turned back and opened the door.
“I left my purse.”
“I’ll be home soon Ava.”
We said simultaneously.
“Bye.”
He hung up and I gulped. I’m almost sure Ava heard my voice. That’s so much for avoiding any drama.
“I’m sorry about that. I left my purse.”
I pointed to the little object and grabbed it.
“I hope he makes you happy Annabelle. More than I ever could.”
He said with my back turned against him. I gulped, twisted the knob and walked out as fast as I could.

**AVA**
I needed a distraction in times like this and Fallon hasn’t come home yet. The baby was a good enough excuse for my husband not to make love to me. Once. He’s only touched me once. That silly night after she left. A mistake he called it. The best night of my life I argued.
I love him with everything in me yet he refuses to lay a finger on me. The highest I get is light kisses. I’ll just have to be patient. He knows Annabelle would never want him again so he has no other option. I placed a call to him to remind him he’s a married man and his loving wife awaits his return.
“I left my purse.”
I heard a faint voice on the phone. It was barely audible but I’m no fool. I’ll recognize it anywhere.
I gripped the edge of the table hard nearly slipping.
“Annabelle was with!”
I screamed within me feeling furious. Fallon simply hung up.
I thought she was acting all innocent and virtuous. How dare she! I’ll just have to make her pay. Fallon is mine and no one touches him.
**What!**
I screamed clicking the answer button as my hit man called.
**I searched but everyone is fucking clean. There’s no one to pin it on. All except one person but you won’t like it.**
**Who?**
**Annabelle Sinclair. She’s a friend of…**
**Perfect. Pin it on the bitch. Leave no trace. By tomorrow, I want the police placing cuffs on her. Is that understood?**
**But ma’am…**
**What was that?**
**Understood ma’am.**
He responded.
**Better. No mistakes this time. I want Annabelle Sinclair to rot in jail until she’s grey. That way she’ll learn and understand that no one messes with what’s mine. **
I smirked before hanging up. My sour mood erased just like that. I just killed two birds with one powerful stone. My phone beeped and the long awaited email arrived. The mail which would give me a hint on who the real father of my child is. This day couldn’t be going any better.
