“I’m begging you! I can give you money, as long as you’re willing to keep looking for him. I’ll promise any amount!” Steve was almost going crazy.
Ayaan was the little boy he had watched grow up and his most precious one. Just thinking about how his own mistake caused Ayaan’s injury made Steve feel guilty and restless.
“Sir, please help us!” Ranita’s tears were falling like rain because she felt so uncomfortable that her heart, liver, spleen, lungs and kidneys all began to ache.
The manager was helpless. “Okay, I’ll go ask around for you. If everyone is willing to continue searching then we will.” The manager went to call people over.
“Ranita, take a break! I will find Ayaan for us!” Steve hugged her tightly trying to comfort her but now the most important thing was finding Ayaan.
Steve let go of her and said: “I’ll go get more people over here.”
Steve went off busily while Ranita sat alone in a chair. It was pitch black outside with only the light from street lamps shining on them. She absentmindedly thought that she couldn’t sit down; she had to find Ayaan instead.
Her Ayaan was still waiting for her!
Calm down! Ranita took deep breaths to calm herself and think clearly. Suddenly, Ranita thought of Brendon! If Brendon was willing to help, it might work…
Frantically, Ranita took out her phone and called Brendon.
Right now, all Ranita wanted was to find Ayaan as quickly as possible, everything else could wait! The phone rang for a while, but no one answered.
Come on, pick up, Brendon!
“Hello! Brendon…” Ranita anxiously called out, but before she could finish her sentence, she heard Shannon’s breathless voice on the other end, “Ranita? It’s me!”
“Are you looking for Brendon?”
Ranita’s heart suddenly felt cold. How could she forget that Brendon had someone even more precious to take care of! She regretted making this call.
But Ayaan…
“Yes! I’m looking for Brendon. Please let him take the call!” Ranita tried to control her discomfort.
Shannon, however, refused her request outright, “No, I don’t want Brendon to take your call! Ranita, I’m not feeling well, and Brendon is taking me back. Whatever you have to say, don’t bother him! I don’t think he would come over anyway!”
Ranita gritted her teeth. “Shannon, I’m looking for Brendon! This is Brendon’s phone, please let him take the call!”
“Ranita, I really dislike you! You ran away four years ago, you should have disappeared completely. Now you’re back, getting in the way again!”
Shannon’s voice continued to be squeaky and aggrieved, “Don’t get close to Brendon in the future, or else I will make you pay!”
Ranita remembered what happened four years ago. Suppressing her impulsiveness, she smirked, “Shannon, you better hide your tail well, or else I will make you pay too!”
“Ranita, you’re really scary! What do I have to hide?” Shannon paused, then chuckled softly, “It’s such a pity that you couldn’t attend our engagement ceremony four years ago. Now that you can make it to our wedding, I hope you can grace us with your presence.”
“But I guess you’re probably too busy to come, after all, you’re just an ex-wife, so you have no face to show up, right?” Shannon’s tone was sarcastic and made Ranita almost vomit.
But thinking of Ayaan, she suppressed her anger. “Shannon, I really need to talk to Brendon!” As long as Brendon answered the call, he should be willing to help, right?
“Ranita, do you think your matters are more important than mine? Don’t embarrass yourself!” Shannon hung up the phone directly!
