“You tell me to leave, I’ll leave… I…” The drunken man was still struggling when several tall security guards rushed out of the bar and directly restrained him! The man in a suit and leather shoes, who led the group, said to Brendon, “Mr. Stuart, sorry for the trouble!”
“We will handle this matter properly! Regarding this negligence, Paul will personally apologize to this young lady!”
The security guards took the drunk man away.
From their appearance to their departure only took one minute!
When Ranita saw Brendon, her heart felt like it was suddenly thrown into the air, then brutally slammed back down, fluctuating up and down. The past she had promised to forget came rushing back in an instant, turning into sharp knives that sliced her heart into pieces.
Four years had passed, a long, long time indeed.
But her heart still ached.
Ranita turned her head to leave but was abruptly pulled back by her wrist.
Her delicate wrist was tightly gripped, leaving a pink mark! The weather was cold, making her wrist and fingers extremely icy.
Brendon’s hand, however, was warm.
“Ranita!” Brendon’s deep voice resounded, still as hot in her ears as before. She forcefully shook off his hand and frowned, saying, “Mr. Stuart, have some self-control.”
“Self-control?” Brendon’s lip curled with a hint of contempt. “You dress like this and linger in a bar, and you tell me to have self-control?”
What about Ayaan? Was she not going to take care of that child?
There were many, many things Brendon wanted to say, to ask, but they all turned into icy mockery on his lips. He said, “I saw it just now. You were cozying up to a foreign man at the bar counter!”
That black strap dress, revealing her flawless shoulders, paired with a face that had become more mature and yet increasingly sexy compared to four years ago. What man wouldn’t want to take a few more glances?!
Brendon’s emotions churned.
“Mr. Stuart, what I wear, where I go, and whom I interact with, does it concern you?”
Ranita’s lips were red, and when she smiled, she exuded charm, especially with those bright, sparkling eyes. Her brows and eyes raised, radiating coquettishness that was incredibly enticing.
“Mr. Stuart… you seem pretty concerned!” She elongated the last note, her voice soft and tender, like a pair of hands that could grab hold of a man, making his heart itch.
Brendon’s heart wasn’t the only thing itching; his throat had also become dry.
Four years had changed Ranita a lot.
Bold, passionate, almost like a fairy!
“Mr. Stuart, although it’s been a long time since we’ve seen each other, I’m in a hurry now. Goodbye!” Ranita held her bag, composed and calm, her smiling eyes curved, as if she hadn’t given any thought to the past.
“Hold on!” Brendon spoke coldly.
“I just saved you! At least invite me for a meal as a token of gratitude to your lifesaver, right?” Brendon pursed his lips, while devising a plan in his mind.
He had searched for Ranita for four years; he couldn’t act so impulsively.
Ranita was annoyed. “Brendon, when will you stop?”
“Did I say something wrong just now? Because of you, I even got into a fight. I’m not a citizen of this country, and if I end up in the police station because of this, it will waste a lot of time!”
“Isn’t it worth inviting me for a meal?” Brendon’s reasoning truly left Ranita speechless.
Seeing Ranita’s displeasure, Brendon continued, “Because of you, I even owe a favor to the bar owner, Paul. I’m at a big loss!”
“Ranita, since we have no relationship, the least you can do is repay me for saving your life!”
