Chapter 373 Unwelcome Guest

Book:A Successful Career After Divorce Published:2024-6-4

Did Lily apologize to her?
Ranita raised an eyebrow curiously. “You’re apologizing to me?”
“Yes! Is that not okay?!” Lily choked up, looking defiant. “We’re both students at Kurima Foreign Studies University, and I’m not inferior to you in any way! I admit that I was jealous of you being favored, but life can’t always be perfect. My husband doesn’t want me to fall out with you, so all I can do is apologize.”
“In the future, I won’t bother you again!”
Ranita was speechless.
This was really awkward!
Seeing Ranita not responding for a long time while holding her orange juice, Lily became annoyed again. “What? Do you look down on me?”
Ranita didn’t want her to continue rambling and took a sip of orange juice before saying lightly, “Okay then. If you don’t bother me anymore, then there’s nothing else between us.”
Lily opened her mouth but didn’t say anything and snorted before running away.
The association had many people with five or six tables set up already; the men were already clinking glasses and having fun drinking wine or something similar since they were mature adults who knew how to have a good time.
After chatting with some friends she knew for a while, Ranita felt dizzy as if she had low blood sugar levels! She called Dylan from beside the restroom wanting him to come pick her up.
But his phone was unreachable.
She could only put her phone back into her purse…
Ranita washed her hands feeling increasingly dizzy; it felt like she couldn’t stand firmly on the heels of her feet anymore! She leaned against the sink feeling unwell.
If it was just low blood sugar levels causing dizziness, then why was her heart beating so fast…?
Afraid of fainting in the restroom, Ranita quickly opened the door and stepped out.
“Miss Bowman… meeting again!” At the doorway, Robert was grinning at her, accompanied by two robust bodyguards.
It was evident trouble had arrived.
“How coincidental, Robert! Didn’t expect to run into you while having a meal!” Ranita steadied herself, trying hard to appear normal. However, her head was spinning, and her body was too weak to stand.
Therefore, Ranita could only remind Robert that she wasn’t alone but part of a group gathering for dinner. If she disappeared, someone would surely notice.
“Hehe… Miss Bowman, you got it wrong. I specifically came here to find you!” Pausing, Robert’s smile turned extremely sinister. “Miss Bowman, do you feel powerless now?”
“You…” Ranita’s body bumped against the wall, then was lifted by the two bodyguards, heading towards the exit.
“Let me go…” Ranita struggled, attempting to call for help, but her voice seemed to vanish in her throat.
Dizzy and disoriented, with even double vision, Ranita could only hope to be lucky enough to encounter hotel staff. Otherwise, she might truly be taken away by Robert. Unfortunately, luck was not on her side, and she didn’t encounter anyone on the way.
She was taken all the way to the parking lot and pushed into a car.
“Miss Bowman, rest assured! We just want you as a guest! We won’t harm you!” With these final words, the car started moving out of the hotel parking lot.
“Hehe! Inviting me in this manner and claiming you won’t harm me? Do you think I’m a fool?” Ranita bit her tongue, feeling the pain that helped her regain some clarity.
At this moment, Robert suddenly erupted, grabbing Ranita’s throat and yelling angrily, “Ranita, you wretched woman! You ruined my only son! I wish I could strangle you to death!”
