Amiya’s sudden condition caused chaos on the scene. Fortunately, the experienced hostesses immediately sent her to the resting room, and Amiya insisted on not going to the hospital.
Ranita didn’t go over there. But she learned about Amiya’s situation from Kora. She was just a little dizzy from being angry and didn’t need to go to the hospital! Kora patted Ranita’s arm reassuringly.
Of course, Ranita was relieved. She felt clear-headed and refreshed now.
Amiya didn’t deserve sympathy; she had caused her so much trouble in the past that it was time for her to taste her own medicine.
“Ranita!” Shannon’s sudden voice came up behind her.
Ranita didn’t want to deal with her and quickened her pace as if she hadn’t heard anything.
“Ranita!” But Shannon still stopped her. Her high heels clacked on the polished floor, making a crisp sound. Because of running around, Shannon’s cheeks were red, and she breathed lightly like a porcelain doll.
“Get out of my way!” Ranita kept some distance away from Shannon because nothing good ever happened when they were together.
“Ranita, don’t be like this! Although you divorced Brendon, Mrs. Stuart is still your elder relative. How can you contradict her like this?” Shannon bit her lip and stared at Ranita with watery eyes while speaking softly, “She is in a very bad mood now; please apologize to make things right.”
Ranita looked at Shannon with cold eyes. “Is there anything else? If not, please step aside.”
“Ranita… Why are you so heartless? Apologizing is not that difficult! Besides, she is Brendon’s mother…”
Ranita’s gaze instantly sharpened as she glared at Shannon with a chilling look. “Shannon, get out of the way!”
Shannon bit her lip, feeling extremely wronged. “Ranita… Can’t you… can’t you just apologize to her? She’s almost driven to madness by anger… If you apologize, she will definitely forgive you.”
Ranita was truly disgusted. She bypassed Shannon and continued walking forward without saying a word. Ahead was a flight of stairs. Afraid that Shannon would further obstruct her, Ranita quickened her pace. However, Shannon stopped her, raising her hand to block Ranita’s way with determination. “Ranita, I’m begging you, okay?”
“Move aside!” Ranita coldly uttered two words.
“Ranita…” Shannon continued to entangle, as irritating as a persistent rash. Ranita glanced at the steps, seeing that Shannon had no intention of yielding. She turned around and walked away.
“Ranita!” At that moment, Shannon grabbed her hand, and Ranita, reacting instinctively, shook it off. The next second, Shannon screamed, “Ah!”
A figure tumbled down the stairs.
Shannon gasped for breath.
Ranita, looking down from a higher vantage point, remained silent. She took out her phone and made a call. Soon, staff arrived to handle the situation. Without saying a word, Ranita turned and left.
She had done enough by calling for help; the rest was beyond her concern.
Ranita found Kora and they went home together. Kora sighed, “Amiya and Shannon know how to cause trouble.”
“Did I cause you any trouble?” Ranita was also one of the organizers of the charity event this time and didn’t want to inconvenience Kora.
“You can rest assured! It has nothing to do with you!” Kora paused and smiled at Ranita. “You, your temper seems good, but when you get fierce, you’re quite fierce! Although I don’t mind, those socialites find you too dominant.”
