Ranita arrived at the anniversary celebration today wearing a casual business suit. It wasn’t a custom-made outfit like Brendon’s, but it still cost six figures and was from a local brand that focused on comfort and design.
Brendon had introduced her to it, so she knew it was high quality.
As for the bag by her side…
It was one that Brendon had given her out of nowhere when he came back from a business trip. He said it was a gift, so she accepted it.
“Lily… we’re classmates, let’s stay calm,” a classmate nearby intervened, giving Ranita an apologetic smile. “Lily had a bit of red wine and her mind isn’t clear. Ranita, please don’t mind!”
Ranita was about to speak when Lily rolled her eyes and let out a disdainful snort.
“I spoke the truth. It’s true… she used to rely on professors’ favoritism, acting all high and mighty every day!”
“Lily, have I offended you in any way? You’ve always had issues with me,” Ranita asked calmly, maintaining a composed tone without any intention of getting angry.
“Look at this attitude; it’s really annoying. You’re obviously angry inside but act so magnanimous…” Lily sneered and rolled her eyes again.
Ranita pursed her lips. “But what you mentioned about clothes and bags are personal items. As long as I feel comfortable and used to it, it’s good, and it doesn’t necessarily have to have a logo.”
“Lily, I’ve never been arrogant.”
Before they could escalate into an argument, someone pulled Lily away.
Another female classmate, Skye Wilson, approached. “Ranita, just ignore Lily! She’s always had a bad temper, and now that she has some money, she’s even more flaunty!”
After a pause, Skye continued, “Do you know why she has an issue with you? Actually, she used to like the senior in the adjacent art department. When she confessed, he said he already had someone he liked, and Lily found out it was you.”
What a mess!
Ranita had no idea who that senior from the art department was.
“Is that so?” Ranita felt a bit speechless. “It’s the first time I’ve heard about it!”
“I heard it! But, after all, we’re classmates. Lily disliking you just because of an unrequited crush is quite low,” Skye sneered, then curiously asked, “Ranita, why did you stop running the studio?”
“Couldn’t make it anymore? Or did you marry into a wealthy family?”
After a pause, Skye continued gossiping, “Some time ago, you were on the hot search, right? What’s the relationship between you and Mr. Stuart from Stuart’s Corp?”
“Could it be that you married into a wealthy family? After all, if you marry into a wealthy family, you have to focus on raising children!” Skye was really gossiping.
Ranita smiled and didn’t say anything. Shortly after, all classmates attending the reunion knew about Ranita having enough money to travel the world.
It was quite sudden!
Ranita posted another social media update, still at Kurima Foreign Studies University.
Brendon opened it and found that there were quite a few familiar faces from yesterday… and this time, it was a group photo of four people. Ranita stood in the middle, with Chris and Vincent on either side. She had a charming smile, looking lively and full of energy.
Whether it was the lighting or not, her cheeks had a slight blush, making her exceptionally beautiful.
