Chris smiled helplessly and tapped Sabrina on the back of her head.
“Chris, why did you hit me?!” Sabrina protested, complaining to Ranita, “Ranita, look at my cousin bullying me!”
Ranita smiled. Although they had just met, she really liked Sabrina. Both were younger sisters, but it was obvious that Sabrina was outgoing and generous with a warm personality that made her very likable, much better than Holly.
“Chris, don’t bully Sabrina!”
“Okay! I won’t bully her,” Chris laughed. “Let’s go eat first!”
Sabrina was such a lovely girl who was as hospitable as Kora. Ranita enjoyed the dinner very much and kept laughing throughout the meal.
During the carnival, Vincent also came over and the four of them wandered around together. Sabrina was Vincent’s fan-girl who followed him everywhere they went while Ranita ended up walking next to Chris.
Ranita went to booth B11 where she saw some students she had met before selling stuffed animals. Neither Chris nor Ranita were particularly fond of these things but the students were so enthusiastic that Chris ended up buying a bunch of them.
“Hahaha!” Ranita burst into laughter as she watched Chris carrying plastic bags, one in each hand, looking comical. The lamplight illuminated her delicate features, and Chris found himself quite captivated.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t the right time.
Chris admired Ranita, and he was also Brendon’s friend.
“Don’t laugh. Half of these are yours.” Chris was swindled into buying several plush toys, and Ranita bought even more! Chris looked at her incredulously, “Are you taking all of these home?”
“Yes! Last time, Kora told me that during their charity event at the orphanage, some kids wished for a stuffed animal. I’ll give these to Kora, as little gifts for the children back then.”
After Ranita explained, Chris chuckled lightly, “Well, these might not be enough.”
“Don’t worry; I’ve already had someone buy more. We’ll have enough.”
Chris smiled, “Then I’ll help you deliver these to Kora later.”
“Are you coming tomorrow?” Chris asked. “It’s the anniversary celebration! How come I’m not a part of Kurima Foreign Studies University? No invitation, so sad!”
“Do you want to come? Why not come with me?”
“Is it okay?” Chris seemed a bit hesitant. “I’m afraid it might be inconvenient for you.”
“Why would it be? Many people come to celebrate the anniversary, and I have an invitation. Bringing a friend won’t be a problem!”
After some contemplation, Chris agreed.
After meeting up with Vincent and Sabrina, they played for a while before Ranita headed home. As she was leaving, Chris even stuffed a cute kitten plush toy into her arms. Tired but in high spirits, she carried it home, gave the little cat’s ears a rub, took a photo with the toy, and selected a few charming shots to share on her social media.
Not long after Brendon’s plane landed, he sat in the business reception room, reviewing documents.
“Ah!” Suddenly, Julia exclaimed.
“What’s the matter?” The man frowned in displeasure, and Julia immediately apologized, “Mr. Stuart, I’m sorry, I was a bit impolite just now.”
Julia was usually very professional; it was the first time she acted so uncharacteristically.
Brendon casually remarked, “Just be more careful next time.”
“I apologize, Mr. Stuart! I was surprised because I saw Miss Bowman’s recent social media post.”
Hearing this, Brendon looked up, “Ranita?”
