Book:A Successful Career After Divorce Published:2024-6-4

Ranita had dozed off in a daze until almost daybreak.
When she woke up again, Brendon was no longer by her side. There were plenty of peaches in the fridge, and just looking at them made her mouth water.
Ranita went to Stuart’s Corp and finished up the final procedures before meeting Olivia for lunch. Even though Olivia’s salary was paid by Ranita, she still felt anxious because there wasn’t much work to do.
“Ranita, are you really not planning on rebuilding the studio? I’ve been receiving messages from many bosses lately asking if you’re available to take on projects.”
After thinking about it for a moment, Ranita replied, “Let’s take some on but don’t schedule too many. Keep it within a week.”
“Really? That’s great!” Olivia was thrilled as long as Ranita could take on projects. “I’ll pick out ones that pay well but require less work.”
Pausing for a moment, Olivia asked again, “Ranita… Holly hasn’t been bothering you anymore, right?”
Thinking about those things made Olivia speechless.
“Our good studio was ruined by her just like that! It makes me so angry just thinking about it!”
“Don’t bring up those things anymore!” Ranita comforted Olivia. “There is something I need to talk to you seriously about regarding my future… I may have to leave Kurima soon and will compensate you accordingly.”
Olivia had prepared herself mentally but still couldn’t help feeling sad.
“Olivia, don’t be sad! The world is big; we will meet again in the future!” Pausing once more, Ranita continued, “At least for three months more, I need your help with some matters so there isn’t any need for us both being emotional.”
“You have excellent abilities; previously at our studio also accumulated some connections which should be useful when moving onto another place! Most importantly though, don’t forget how much you enjoy translating work? Have you considered starting out solo?”
Timidly, Olivia asked, “Can I?”
“Why not? Your abilities are clear as day; believe in yourself and try boldly!” encouraged Ranita. “You’ve always been great!”
Olivia enjoyed this meal very much.
“Ranita, now that your schedule has cleared up somewhat, would like go play together this weekend?” Holding onto Ranita’s arm tightly, they left the restaurant chattering away happily.
As soon as they exited the elevator, however, Olivia grabbed hold of Ranita’s arm and whispered softly, “Isn’t that Holly over there? What is she doing here?”
As soon as the words left her mouth, Holly turned to look at her.
“Ranita, what are we going to do? She’s looking over here?” Olivia was genuinely afraid of Holly’s brash behavior.
“We’ll go out the other exit!” Ranita turned and walked in another direction. But she hadn’t taken a few steps when Holly caught up with her.
“Ranita, why are you avoiding me?” Holly sneered. “I’ve been looking for you for days! Today I finally caught up with you!”
Ranita pursed her lips and looked at her coldly. “Holly, I don’t think we have anything to talk about. Please move aside.”
Holly didn’t have any bodyguards with her, but that didn’t stop her from being herself. She glared fiercely and said, “What if I don’t move? Ranita, you put Shannon in the hospital and almost caused a miscarriage! I haven’t settled accounts with you yet!”
In public places like this upscale restaurant where people had some manners, although human nature is always curious about gossiping things happening around them; immediately people started looking over here to see what was going on.
Having worked in the corporate world for many years now, Ranita did not like being surrounded by people discussing private matters.
“Holly, it’s one thing to eat your food messily but it’s another thing entirely to speak without thinking first. I don’t want us arguing here so please step aside.”
