**Annabelle**
The plane touched down a few minutes ago. I checked my watch, knowing the meeting would have already begun now. Fallon would definitely be announcing that the deal is closed and his company had acquired the land. Imagine the shock he is definitely going to get when he finds out I bought it from under his very nose a week ago, I just had to get to right person and make the right deposition and the land belonged to me. Getting this land had nothing to do with making him pay. I wanted it first so it’s only fair I got it.
I waited years, I did crazy things just to make enough money to buy it, and I won’t let him take it away from me. Construction would begin and in a few months, my own company would be ready. It might be close to his but it would definitely be better. As for making him pay, I’m not stupid enough to put revenge before my dreams and goals. Firstly, I would concentrate on making my dreams a reality and when I’m done I can focus on Fallon.
As for Ava, she might be married to Fallon but she’s still the closest thing I had to a friend, I hurt her and I have to try and make amends, even if she doesn’t forgive me, it’ll give us both the closure we need to move on. I did some digging and I finally got to know about her whereabouts, she moved in with Fallon, her career had grown even bigger, a part of me was happy for her.
The other part couldn’t ignore the fact that I was really curious as to why she’s married to Fallon. She loves him no doubt but Fallon had a girlfriend, he proposed to her and suddenly, I left for four months and they’re married. What happened?
I got into the car. My driver started the car and drove off to his house. My sources says she was home alone, taking a break from the industry or probably still on her honey moon or something. Either way, it works for me since I can talk to her freely without being worried that Fallon might show up and interrupt us, I did not want to face him, not yet.
Half an hour later, I was brought face to face to his home. It was huge I’d give him that. I stepped out of the car, giving the drivers orders not to wait for me, I might be a while and I could easily call him when I’m done. I took a deep breath and marched towards the door. I rang the door bell clinging to my bag. Seconds later, the door knob clicked, a maid appeared and greeted me with a smile.
“Hi ma’am.”
Her voice was tender and low.
“Hi, umm I was hoping to see Ava Max.”
She looked at me wondering who I could be, I licked my lips nervously.
“Umm, if you don’t mind, who should I say is asking?”
“You can tell her Isabelle Jeremy, she’ll know who.”
I forced a small smile. The maid nodded, directed me inside before walking away. My heart pounded in my chest waiting for Ava to show up.
“Nina, if this is journalist or reporter pulling a crazy stunt, I won’t go easy on………”
She trailed off, her eyes met with mine. I forced another smile swinging my hands nervously.
“Nina, leave us.”
Ava commanded, the maid bowed her head lightly before excusing us.
“What are you doing here, couldn’t you have stayed lost or something.” Her voice was cold, breaking my resolve.
“Ava, I left because I knew we both needed space, I’m back now so please give me a chance to explain everything.” I pleaded, she hesitated from the looks on her face but seconds later, she pointed to the couch telling me to seat.
“It better be good.” She warned, I nodded my head deciding to start from the beginning.
**Fallon**
I chuckled loudly after what he said.
“This isn’t funny.” I growled loudly.
“I’m not joking sir, check it’s all here you can see for yourself.” He handed me the tablet, I checked and he was’t joking, the details showed Annabelle Sinclair bought the land weeks ago.
“Umm gentlemen, I apologise but it seem there’s a delay in the deal.” I said to the directors before facing my assistants.
“Get me her number and set a meeting with the owners, they are going to explain why they sold off a piece of land I had already put down or they might be facing serious charges.” My voice was harsh and cold. He nodded and ran off. I curled my fists and tried to calm myself turning to face the investors. Annabelle is back and this is what she chooses to welcome everyone with and how is possible she was able to acquire that land, under my noses. It’s been four months, I wonder how she is, what happened to her. I’ll have my assistant, Melvin get her number. I have to meet up with her. I need to see her again.
**Annabelle**
I started with the basis, explaining how we met in college I fell in love with him and lost my virginity to him. The tweet he made about it and how I almost got raped, the shame I faced afterwards. My parents abandoning me all because of Fallon. I left the state and came here, had to become a girlfriend for hire to achieve my dreams, he came back into my life, why I lied to her because for my insecurities and how he screwed my life up again and made my parents disown me.
I left out the part where I came back to get the land he wanted and took a deep breath waiting for her reaction. She stared at me refusing to utter a word obviously trying to comprehend everything that was happening.
“Say something please…”
I trailed off not knowing what to say.
“I’m sorry I lied and left, I didn’t come back to threaten anything with Fallon. I just want you to know the truth. At the mention of her marriage, she became uneasy making me suspicious.
“Ava, are you okay?” I ask. She nods her head trying to smile.
Suddenly, she places her hands over her lips and rushes to the restroom. I got worried and ran after her. She faced the toilet, bent over and puked.
“Ava, are you sick?” I was getting really worried, she turned t o look at me still not speaking.
Just then, I sighted something strange from the corner of my eyes. Inside the dustbin was a strip. I looked closer and it almost seemed like….. A pregnancy test. My eyes widened. I got some tissue, picked it up. It slipped from my hand when I realized the test was positive.
“Y-You’re pregnant?” I stutter.
“For Fallon…..”I add as she gulps.
