When they climbed into the bed to sleep, Rosa felt exhausted. She had been up since morning.
Lanre said they should have a goodnight kiss and he pulled her to himself, kissing her. What he said was a goodnight kiss but what he was doing was more than a mere goodnight kiss.
It was passionate and sweet. They both were engrossed in it. It was intense and demanding for more.
Rosa’s hand was the first to find the buttons of his pyjamas. He was busy kissing her entire body.
They both needed each other and it’s been a while they did it. Lanre pulled her short night dress off and her thin lace pants followed.
He grilled her thoroughly and Rosa was meeting his thrust and creating a perfect rhythm for them.
It took a while before Lanre climaxed and he sighed. He kissed her before letting her go. They both laid quiet and only their heartbeats were heard.
Lanre soon pulled Rosa close to himself and kissed her temple. Her hair was a mess and she looked worked up.
They were both naked and soon drifted off to sleep. When Rosa woke up the next morning, Lanre was not in bed. He was with his Aunt.
This wasn’t Lanre’s apartment. She needed to be up and freshen up. Junxie Li might arrive anytime.
She got to the bathroom and took her bath. Thank goodness she came prepared and soon dressed herself up.
She was applying makeup when Junxie Li and Theresa Arrived. They came early so they could see Aunt Lulu and also finalize their discussion about the wedding.
Rosa smiled when she saw her friend. Junxie Li looked around but didn’t see Lanre. He guessed he was in the ward.
“You came this early or you slept here?” Theresa Mo asked, walking towards her and helping in styling her hair. Junxie Li took a seat at the sofa and was calling Lanre, ignoring the women.
“I slept here. I couldn’t leave Lanre alone at this period..” Rosa replied. Theresa bent and whispered into her ears “the hickeys by the side of your neck is obvious how much company you kept my brother last night..”
Rosa blushed. She looked at herself in the mirror and saw it herself. She didn’t see it earlier. Junxie Li saw it too when they entered?
“Silly girl,” Rosa jokes. She got a towel and thought of cleaning the hickey but she knows it cannot be cleaned by a mere cloth.
“I am expecting a brood of babies from you Rosa. Make it snappy” Theresa teased and Rosa said “Work harder” Just as Lanre came in.
The two friends started laughing. Junxie Li looked at their direction and wondered what the female folks often have to say in whispers.
They probably are talking about their men. Lanre looked in their direction as well and smiled. They do not know what they both were saying that made them laugh like two teenagers.
“How are you doing, Junxie?” Lanre asked, he walked over and hugged Theresa, kissing her on her temple.
“I am fine Lanre. Did you spend time sleeping?” Junxie Li asked. He saw him working so much as if he was the surgeon assigned to the patient.
” Yes, but I had to keep checking on my Aunt at intervals” Lanre answered, bending over and giving Rosa a good morning kiss.
Theresa walked away from them. “I want to see Aunt Lulu” Theresa requested and Lanre said they could check her.
That way the four of them went to check on Aunt Lulu. “Her pulse has improved, which is a good sign that she’s responding to treatment,” Lanre explained.
But they didn’t see anything special about her condition from the previous day and what it was that morning. But since Lanre said she’s responding, then she’s really responding.
When they returned to the lounge, they discussed the wedding and it was finally resolved to take the way Lanre suggested.
“I will drop you off at work,” Lanre said, turning to Rosa. The latter nodded and stood up, giving Lanre her hand.
“We are heading to the company as well,” Junxie Li declared. When they got to the car and were driving to the company, Junxie Li said he was going to take her for vacation when her aunt was fine.
He would make it up to her for not having an elaborate wedding. And their anniversary was going to be the talk of the town for years to come.
Theresa thanked him. Being his wife was more important than anything else to her. She said she’s glad that she met him.
After a while, Theresa said ” I am feeling like I might be pregnant. I just realized this morning that I haven’t menstruated…” she complained.
” Are you saying you are pregnant?” Junxie Li asked, pretending to be ignorant. ” I don’t know yet, but I might be,” Theresa replied. A quick smile appeared on Junxie’s lips.
” Are you getting contraceptives?” Lanre asked as soon as he drove out of the hospital premises.
Rosa didn’t answer. She was still contemplating on using it or not. If Lanre wants her to take it, she would but if he said otherwise, she would not object.
” You’re not answering?” Lanre asked and glanced at her. He wants to know so he can get her one after getting her breakfast.
” Do you want me to take it?” She asked. They were both quiet. That question met him unawares. Does she want to be pregnant?
It hasn’t crossed his mind about making her Pregnant. But the question left him a little uncomfortable.
” If you want me to use it, I will definitely take it. But if you don’t mind, I would just live my life like that..” Rosa added.
Lanre was quiet the entire way. He stopped by and got her breakfast before driving her to the company where she works.
” What’s your reply babe,?” Rosa asked. He didn’t say anything and she doesn’t know what he’s thinking.
” Don’t take it then” he said and Rosa smiled. She kissed him before stepping out of the car.
