That night, Rita made up her mind to avoid Julia as much as she could and locked herself in her room as she arrived home. She has since stopped sharing the sitting room with Julia whenever he is in.
But now, she guessed their relationship was getting more streamlined. She has to live her life without considering Julia or seeing herself married to him.
She doesn’t need his money. She has a job and can always provide for all she needs until the baby is born.
Once the baby is born, according to Julia’s suggestion, they would get divorced and she will be free to live her life again.
Whatever happens, he has to find a nanny to look after the baby. He wants to be single and she would give him that chance to be.
Julia Li went to have a shower. While he was having the bath, he didn’t stop thinking about his forced marriage.
He never expected things to take this turn. But alas, he had found himself between the rock and a hard place.
The pregnancy should be a couple of months old already or whatever, but he didn’t even know anything about it except that Rita looked a little chubbier.
But he has an idea to escape this suffocating marriage of his. He would talk nicely to Rita tomorrow and make her consent to his demands.
But there is a certain fellow who couldn’t sleep that night. He was rolling from one side of the bed to the other.
Lu Jingli has been trying to reach Theresa Mo and the latter seemed uninterested in answering his calls. He even sent her a message that they met that evening at the place where they met last.
But she didn’t come nor did she reply to his messages. He called her a few times but she wouldn’t answer.
Was she still thinking about the past? Hadn’t he apologised to her already. He expects that she must have put the past behind them.
Besides, he already told her he wants them to get back together and he would have her kids as he’s legally and raised them.
He only told her to give him a few more times and get Tiana Mo divorced. That he had done and fulfilled his side of the bargain.
But why is she not wanting to talk to him? He won’t let her be excpt she considers him and takes him back.
He loves Theresa and wants to be married to her again. Not the one arranged by her stepmother, but he wants to love and cherish her forever.
That way, the Mo’s business will be 75% theirs. He would become rich and wealthy through Mo’s daughters.
Even if anything happens and he and Theresa needs to divorce, he would have another 25% share of her portion of the business and eventually make him the largest owner of the company.
He was starting his own business soon but he must have part in Mo’s business to make him have something to fall back to in case his business collapses.
He would go and find her the next day in the Li’s Group. She works there and no matter how she tries to avoid him, she can’t prevent him from seeing her tomorrow at her work place.
Having his plan put in place and waiting for Theresa Mo to say yes to him so he can have the plans executed, he smiled and sighed audibly.
“Theresa Mo, I am coming for you” he whispers and smiles again looking at the reflection of the full moon through his window blinds.
Next morning, Theresa Mo was happy when she got dressed and came downstairs for breakfast to meet the boys having their breakfast.
How thoughtful of the master of their house to let them have breakfast with her. She was all smiles when she took her seat opposite them.
“Good morning mummy,” the boys said at the same time. Theresa Mo smiled and said a very good morning to them too.
She asked if they slept well and they said yes. The boys each were wondering why their Mother would always ask them questions about how they are doing or feeling each time she sees them.
They are not some infants or toddlers who can’t express themselves if something isn’t right with them.
While Theresa Mo and the boys were having breakfast happily, Lanre was just waking up from his sleep.
Since he wasn’t going to the hospital, he doesn’t wake up so early like he usually does. He yawned and stretched himself on his bed before reaching for his phone.
He switched it on and a message suddenly popped up on it. He took the phone to see who sent him the message.
The fellow must have left a message when his phone was switched off. He is not in the habit of switching it off besides having a flat battery.
And that is rare. He has charges in his car, at home and in the office. He opened it and saw it was from Theresa. She asked him to call her as soon as he saw the message.
What’s wrong? Is everything the matter? Junxie Li travelled but Julia was around. He decided to call her. Whatever made her leave a message like this must be urgent.
By the time Lanre called, Theresa Mo was on her way to the company. When she saw that Lanre was the one calling, she answered the phone.
“Hi Theresa” Lanre’s cheerful tone came from the other end. He seemed to be in a happy spirit.
“Good morning Lanre,”Theresa Mo answered with a poker face. Lanre may not be somewhere near to see her looks but definitely should detect from her voice that she’s not happy with him.
“I saw your message a while ago. Is anything the matter” Lanre asked, sitting up on his bed. He supported his back with a pillow and waited to listen to what Theresa Mo had to say.
” I am not happy with you Lanre” Theresa Mo was blunt. She doesn’t want to play a hide and seek game with him nor beat around the bush.
Lanre squinted. Not happy with him? What has he done? Except for the issue of his relationship with Rosa, he doesn’t know what he probably would have done to make her unhappy with him.
“What did I do?” Lanre asked. “It’s about you and Rosa. You told me the last time when we saw that your relationship with Rosa was fine, and it has returned to what it should be..”Theresa Mo was recounting their past conversation.
“So, what’s wrong with what I said?” Lanre asked, he knew where she was heading. He doesn’t want to start his day with the issue of his relationship with Rosa.
The last thing he thought about before going to sleep was about it and because of it, he switched off his phone. Now, talking about it would make him displeased.
“Everything is wrong. You Both broke up and you think I shouldn’t know about it? You kept me in the dark.
I thought you loved her. I want you both to reconcile and be together again. Please Lanre, get things back on track.
Rosa would contact you today and come see you…”Theresa Mo was saying when Lanre interrupted her.
“I haven’t done anything. It was Rosa who broke up with me. She’s the first woman to do that to me and I can’t take it, Theresa.
When a woman is rude and insults her boyfriend, she is capable of shooting a bullet through his heart when they get married and the man upsets her.
That’s the picture of your friend. I don’t want her again. She’s in my past now and that’s where she will remain. My relationship with her is over for real..”Lanre politely turned Theresa’s request down.
There was silence for a long time. “We would see and talk Lanre,” Theresa Mo said. “Don’t talk about Rosa with me when we meet please”Lanre replied and hung up.
Theresa Mo was surprised. Lanre hung up on her? This is serious. He really was not ready to talk about Rosa. Oh gush, her friends have fallen apart.
