HOLLY’S POV,
It is a few days later and Holly and Nolan are cuddling on a couch in the general living room when Zeus storms in.
“I finally figured it out,” he shouts.
He quickly walks away, and Holly and Nolan look at each other confused. Zeus already comes back and waves them over, “Well come on! Follow me.”
Holly and Nolan quickly get up and walk after Zeus to the meeting room. Zeus is standing at the table staring at some brightly shining objects. Zeus picks up a sword that is shining so bright it is hard to look at.
“I finally found the right incantation to transfer the light from the glow worms into the swords. I did the same for spears.”
Holly walks towards the last object which is a black ball, “What is that?”
Zeus quickly holds her back, “Careful, that is a light bomb. I mixed light magic with gunpowder so when the bomb hits a surface it becomes an explosion of light.”
Nolan looks at Zeus impressed, “You have outdone yourself, Zeus. Can we test them?”
Zeus nods, “Yes let’s go to the training grounds and test them.”
They go to the training grounds, Zeus points towards a bunch of trees and says, “Let’s throw it there. It is best if you do it Nolan because you can throw the furthest.”
They back off 50 meters and with a powerful sling Nolan throws the bomb to the trees. As soon as the bomb touches the ground it explodes with enormous power and light. They get launched in the air and land a few meters backward. Holly gets up grunting from the impact of the fall and looks at the place where the bomb landed. All the trees have completely been struck from the ground and nothing is still standing. Holly dryly states, “Seems to work I think.”
The next days everyone works on making as many bombs, light swords, and spears as possible. Every afternoon the whole army trains with the new weapons. After a few days, the army seems to have gotten the hang of it. Sky army, Liberum, and others work together as one. Holly, Zeus, and Nolan are standing on a mountain looking over the training fields. On the ground, soldiers are fighting with the new weapons. The light weapons all move in sync while practicing the same movements. It is a rare sight seeing thousands of soldiers move in the exact same rhythm with weapons made of light. In the air, angels are practicing with the weapons to attack from the air. They also try out different flying strategies with dropping fake bombs. Nolan invented several flying moves which would be beneficial for dropping the bombs. But the most beautiful sight of all might be the dragons and their masters covered in armor. The armor is thick and covered in spikes which makes the enormous animals look even scarier than normal. Blue dragon fire destroys target after target and the dragons, and their masters seem to have a bond stronger than ever.
Holly looks at their army and feels utterly proud. They have come a long way but seeing how well they perform now she can only be proud. She leans against Nolan and says fiercely, “Hades better look out because we are going to light his butt back to hell.”
Nolan kisses her forehead and chuckles. She closes her eyes and enjoys the feeling of Nolan his lips on her head. The peaceful silence gets interrupted by an angel messenger.
“This letter came but it was weird like it was teleported or something,” he says.
Holly lifts an eyebrow and takes the letter from him. Her eyes quickly go over the letter and her face gets more serious by the second. Nolan looks at her worried, “What is it?”
Holly looks at Zeus and Nolan and balls her fists, “We have to get the army ready; it is time. We leave for Dandion tomorrow.”
The next day everyone that can fight is slowly leaving Liberum. Holly is in the air looking over the big army emerging through the mountains with dragons and angels flying over them. She takes one last look at the city she loves so much. Knowing maybe it will be the last time she saw it.
When they arrive at Dandion, Holly flies ahead to look for Gabriel. She hopes his efforts in the city have been fruitful. The people of Dandion hurry outside their houses and gasp when they see all the angels and dragons. It is probably a sight they have never seen before. While her army fills the streets of Dandion, Holly flies to the glass castle. Hopefully, she will find her brother there.
She flies into a room with a big window and crashes into a big dining table. When she gets up a gorgeous woman with blue eyes and long blond hair is staring at her in shock. A guy barges in when he hears all the sounds, “Luna are you okay?”
He shields Luna with his body from the surprise visitor. He looks at her and asks confused, “Holly?”
Holly looks at Julias sheepishly, “Sorry for the mess, didn’t mean to fall in like this.”
Julias gives Luna a reassuring smile, “It’s okay this is Holly. Gabriel’s sister.”
Holly walks to Luna gives her a warm smile and shakes her hand, “Nice to meet you.”
“Where is my brother?” She asks then.
Julias his expression gets worried for a second, “He is in his room. Come I’ll show you.”
Julias leaves her at his door, and she knocks before hearing a grumpy, “Come in.”
Holly frowns because it is not like her brother to greet someone like that. She walks in and sees Gabriel sitting at a fireplace just staring at it. It looks like he hasn’t shaved for days.
“Gabriel?” Holly asks unsure.
Gabriel lifts his head in an instant and is next to Holly in a few steps. He takes her in his big arms and lifts her from the ground. “Oh, Holly I am so happy to see you, ” he says.
Holly smiles, “I missed you too Gab. But what is going on? Why do you look like you have the weight of the world on your shoulders? Did the mission in Dandion go sideways?”
Gabriel sighs and takes a step back looking at Holly, “No the mission was successful eventually. I am just so worried about Noelle. I want to know if she is okay, I want to hold my wife and I want to protect her.”
He is almost crying when he talks about Noelle. Holly takes him in a tight hug, “Shhh it’s okay. Have some faith in your wife. She is the most powerful witch that has existed and besides that, she has her personality full of fire. You will see her soon again Gabriel, I am sure of it.”
Gabriel gives her a weak smile, “Thank you, Holly, we should join the rest. I think we all have a lot of catching up to do.”
They meet Julias, Luna, Zeus, and Nolan in one of the main living rooms. They all sit around a big fireplace and there is wine and food. Holly walks to Nolan and gives him a kiss before sitting down between his legs. Gabriel looks at them confused for a minute because she is normally not so loving. Holly gives him a look that only he will understand, that says I will tell you all about it later.
They all talk a little and Julias tells them about Lord Midas and Javier. How they found out about their plans and how Luna eventually took her place as ruler. Zeus then tells them about the attack on the Sky Realm and the new weapons they developed. It feels good to be among friends and talk about their adventures. But it still doesn’t feel complete because 2 important people are still missing from this reunion. Looking at Gabriel he must feel the same because he is just staring out of the window longing for someone to return to his arms.
